Post something on greyfur's Wall
Yes, have watched GoT from the beginning….why?7 Comments
Well, watched the first season some time back, people I knew on FB back when I was on FB kept telling me how good it was, read some stuff by the author years ago, but was bored to tears the whole season, got tired of it stopped watching. Not one shred of spit, no dragons, magic, other creatures/races, but am seeing pic and such with all that in it, and people talking about it, and was wondering where there might be a good starting point for me to go to that would not require any more backstory then I already have from watching the first season.
Ha. That’s a tough one. The whole story is SO full of characters and important turning points that I really can’t pinpoint a place to start from where you are. It’s ALL backstory, allegiances, and world travel. During the saga, beloved characters scatter to the four winds, some die, others develop. No elves, no fairies—-but there are other supernatural things, including creatures, woven into what is basically a dressed-up War of the Roses. In fact, the fictional “Lannisters” and “Starks” are said to be modeled on the real-life “Lancasters” and “Yorks” of England. It’s been a fun ride, but it has been a long wait between seasons. Not to everyone’s taste, I agree.
Hey just got the notification that you replied, but it says you replied 11 hours ago? Wonder why the lag?
Guess I’ll pass on the rest of this one,if I go a whole season and get get interested, probably not for me. I did find a new one I like,at least from the pilot episode called ‘The Son’, covers a long span of years and the rise of a Texas oil empire. They are into season 2, only watched the pilot so far, looks like it might be a good binge watch.
I’ve been considering “The Son” and might give it a look when I can. So much to see right now!
No doubt, have like 102 or so shows to watch, talking T.V. shows!A few of them are new, and have not aired anything yet. No way I will have time to keep up with all of that, but can keep up with the ones that I like best, binge watch other stuff when there is time.
Something not right with the notifications thing still, didn’t show that I had one, but looked anyway, and you had sent me one it says 4 hours ago. Glitch in the system I guess?
I dunno. I’m still having trouble understanding “wall” as opposed to “message”—-it’s a bit different from how it used to be here. You and I talking in this little box seems to me to be more message than wall post, but that’s the notification I keep getting.
Same here, again,no notification, just checked, and there was a new message.
Hahaha I’m on ep. 4 of Lucifer right now! I was very glad to see it back after the big reveal last season (Chloe finally saw Lucifer’s real face)—-and I Like that we get all eps. dropped at once by Netflix. :-D3 Comments
I’m right about where you’re at,still have more to go,and also working my way through cobra Kai. Been backlogging movies i want to watch under ‘favorites’, think i’m up to 90 something at the moment. Will probably be dead before I can watch everything, have a lot of shows to try and keep up on.
Same here! 🤩 Soooo much to see!!!
Finally finished both! Have no idea if they will have another season of Lucifer. they could leave it here, which is better then most shows get, but would rather see at ;east one more season. Cobra Kai ended awesome, but deserves another season at least, just can’t leave this like it is!
A good copy of Endgame already??? COOOOOL! I will look! I JUST YESTERDAY took delivery of my new Sony TV—-65 inches of big fun and big noise, with my ancient surround-sound system that they were able to attach. I was sure the (analog) tech was too old to mind-meld with the new Sony—-but they did it:-)7 Comments
Excellent! I am stuck with a 26 inch Vizio smart T.V.that is not so smart, remote stopped working, can’t adjust the vol. right through the computer, I tried, but it floats up and down. Loud enough to watch most shows as it is though.
Am about to open a savings account, stash money back, want to get a 42 inch, would be plenty big enough for me, and also a new laptop. Will put the smaller T.V. in the bedroom with the old laptop, new stuff in the living room.
Gonna just get a LED T.V.though, none of that smart crap, they do too much with those, monitoring what you watch and such, selling the information. I get enough spam e-mails and bogus calls as it is, don’t need that as well!
Might have to hitch hike to your crib and watch again on your big T.V., make cookies,I will get there sooner or later! :)
Hahahaha that would be fun! I hear ya about the smart TVs—-this one is labeled that but I don’t even have a smartphone, or a Playstation, XBox, Alexa, apps for Netflix or Hulu or anything so that “smart” part is wasted on me—-I just wanna watch the dang TV!!! And my DVDs and tapes!! LOL LOL
Got a friend of mine, local here, Diane, has one of those new I phone XS,she got hacked, has been through several replacement phones, can’t make a call without being listened to, can’t get a call worth a damn, and it tracks your movements, keeps your favorite places.
As a result, not only do all the stores she has been to get charged for stuff she never bought, but her bank card and credit cards have all been compromised through the phone, she is missing thousands.
Idiot screwed up though, paid a couple bills using one of her cards, he’sin Ohio, fixing to be in a shitload of trouble.
Right now I just have a land line, but will be getting a cell again soon, found a place that has cheap flip top phones, and you can get unlimited talk time for 20 bucks a month. I don’t want text time or computer time. Got a laptop for the net, and texting is a pain to me.
Just want a communications device, the rest is just noise, and a potential disaster!
Oh wow, that sucks bigtime for your friend!!! I’m glad the bastard played himself and will pay for it. Cheaters and thieves make me sick!!! With their “skills” they could get real gigs the honorable way—-but no, they wanna screw the rest of us! grrrr
I absolutely agree with you. I did what you’re about to do, dropped the landline, got a free, basic Go-Phone from AT&T; they upgrade it over they years from 2G to 3G models; all I pay is $25 a month autopay to them for unlimited calls all over the country…and free texting too. Yes, it’s basic, (this model is a flip-phone; I had a choice between this free one or a free simple smart-type phone, which I did not want) but it does text and also even takes pics and video clips if I wanted to do that. I just want a basic phone for emergency/necessity calling and for staying in touch with family. I NEVER wanna be one of those folks checking the damn thing for apps, games, etc. etc. I’m not on Facebook, not a Tweeter, Instagrammer, none of that crap.
I’m on GAB and MeWe, gave up the rest of the stuff that censors. Get a lot of legit news that way.I still have a flip top I carry with me when I’m out and about, just to keep the time, and in case I have an emergency, can hit 911.
got hit with my one and only asthma attack back in late ‘94,damn near killed me, so i like to keep it with me just in case. Think in July will be able to get the phone, will be able to keep my old number, and then disconnect the land line. WHO-HOO!
Glad you survived that close call. Scary!!! Yes, keep a phone handy at all times. I have gotten my elderly mom to put hers on a lanyard around her neck for every trip down to her basement, just to be safe…
Have considered one of those things where you mash the button and the ambulance shows up at your house, already know what the problem might be, medic alert or some such.
Have not seen any Killing Eve yet; wondered if it was any good, and now I know:-) I’m currently engrossed in an Icelandic thriller (2 seasons so far) called Trapped. It’s subtitled, but very good, very involving show.1 Comments
