I like all the comments here. They’ve got me wondering too if the writers will be able to keep this intriguing character fresh and fun, as she began in The Good Wife. What a treat to see someone who looks like a total ditz perform better than anybody else in the room! Even those she catches have to ruefully salute her mastery. It remains to be seen if the showrunners can keep all this new and different; this great character deserves it. This show, and Poker Face, are just tops in my book, and both have started well. Let’s just hope they don’t go the way of Touch, which had a super first season about that fantastic child who made connections no one else could see. Kind of fell off after that.
Then there was that series called Boomtown, which was groundbreaking in its time for showing the crimes from all sorts of perspectives (at least that first season.) And who can forget True Detective, jaw-droppingly good that first year, but unable to carry the greatness forward beyond that (no shade on Vince Vaughn.) Those are just a few. Fingers crossed.
