Ya this transits from weirdly logical to down right messed up and Aubrey Plaza carries it off very well, def worth a watch.

The To Do List (2013)

I thought this was funny, Aubrey Plaza brings her own unique style to this and she’s fun to watch. I was a little hesitant to fire this up but once this starts rolling its worth your time, the 3 girl friends the mom the sister even the dad they all add to the story and bring in some different elements. There are a couple scenes with the dad and his daughters that were funny in a twisted way. enjoy.

Two hours and forty-one minutes of another Hal Hartley movie and it was good, this guy can write. Adrienne Shelly was such a unique actress, a real pleasure to watch. There is a lot going on this movie and in true Harley fashion the characters are pretty quirky and unpredictable. Highly recommend.

If middle east politics is of interest to you then this movie will help you understand one particular jewish perspective at that time and in my opinion rightly so. It also puts into question the point of terrorism at all …

Munich (2006)
SnakePliscan 0 points 5 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This movie was made in 2005 four years after 911 yet in the final scene after Avner asks his handler if any of it (the retribution) was worth it, the camera pans across the New York city skyline and stops dead on the twin world trade centers, that’s the final scene of the movie. Then you have to ask yourself maybe it wasn’t near enough ?

Munich: The Mission - The Team (2006)

I got some info about this short from IMDB.

On the regular and rental editions of the Munich DVD, this is the only extra feature

The first half is concerned with the historical background of the mission: who was behind it, who were targeted, the involvement of Israeli leader Golda Meir and how all the different points of views could best be represented in the screenplay. Apparently people had been struggling with this script for 10 years before the very well read Tony Kushner (who plugs his own Angels in America) took a stab at writing about a 5 man team of assassins without resorting to the “obvious sociopath” clichés.

Steven Spielberg explains he basically cast Eric Bana while watching Ang Lee’s Hulk with his kids, then decided to find another 4 actors with looks and acting techniques as far away from Bana as possible (a lesion learned from “1941”, where he had two black haired men in uniform fighting over the same girl). During subsequent interviews we learn more details about each team member than than we did in the movie. This is the way the roll-call breaks down: Avner (Eric Bana), Yekke Jew, team leader/assassin; Carl (Ciarán Hinds), German, clean up; Steve (Daniel Craig), South African, transportation; Robert (Mathieu Kassovitz), French, explosive expert and Hans (Hanns Zischler), German, document forger.

What do you get when you cross a baseball junkie with a romance story … this (great) movie.

Moonstruck (1988)

Cher is so awesome in this. There’s a line in this where loretta says to Johnny that he lost his hand because he was like a tiger who chewed his paw off to get out a relationship he was trapped in so that he could be with her. There’s lots of great writing in this, def worth a watch.

Secret Admirer (1985)

“Some Kind of Wonderful” could be a remake of this film, an improvement over this. The acting wasn’t too bad but the adults were ridiculous. As a teen romp it was goofy and amusing in a flashback kinda way.

Girl/Girl Scene (2019)

Heavily dialogue driven piece with a group of gals trying to figure out who they should be paired up with and why, kissing seems to have a big role in deciding and lots of alcohol too … if you like girl talk enjoy.
