Fantastic episode about the European Space Agency’s launch of the Polar Orbiter probe taking pictures of and studying the Sun, and the design and launching of the rockets used by ESA and NASA. 5/5

Intense and suspenseful whodunit. The show Baptiste is a spinoff from Missing.
On the one hand, I didn’t understand for the first several epis why this is rated so much lower on the rating sites than it deserves, it’s just as good as a number of similar popular horror/sci fi shows. On the other hand, the last couple of epis are a bit weak, so yeah I could see why. But enjoyable cheesy escapist fun overall, was worth a binge.
If you are a medieval history fan this is very enjoyable, a lot of cool new information for me, goes in depth on the battles leading up to the Norman Invasion of Anglo Saxon England and William the Conqueror. Very creative use of play-by-play to explain the sides and strategies of the battles and the weaponry. One star off due to the cheesiness of the reenactment scenes that are used to illustrate the stories.
Seriously, she’s vaping and she’s a drunk. And she’s mad at Picard for standing up to the Federation when they wouldn’t help the Romulans? What am I missing here? I kinda hate this chick.
Has anyone made it past the first 30 minutes? So much talking about themselves, no talking about stuff, I lost interest.
What does assimilation mean in “this facility has gone X time without an assimilation”?
Assimilation by the Borg. The Borg assimilate everything they can get their hands on. Animal, vegetable, mineral.
Mandalorian rewatch…because 2019 was a kinder, gentler time. I miss it.
Even for someone who thinks Tom Hardy can do almost no wrong, this was a huge disappointment. It looked more like an actor’s character exploration exercise, no real plot, just kind of set it all up at first, and then hung out all atmospheric-like for another 90 minutes.
Anne-Marie Duff has an intensely powerful persona with larger-than-life physicality and striking looks - to me the best actress and best version I’ve seen in portraying the characterists that QE1 was historically famous for. Tom Hardy makes a great Robert Dudley. They did a fantastic job of aging these actors, so convincing that I thought that Duff was replaced by an older actress for the end, until I went to iMDb and checked it. Another great BBC1 show.
“On Thin Ice” Set in Greenland - oil exploration, EU v Russia, politics, colonization and racism, arctc independence, fake news, Russian bots, and starving Polar Bears. I like the arctic, it’s one of the last purely nature life-or-death places. If you liked Fortitude the setting and many of the issues are similar. Decent tv. Well-known Scandi actors, unusual setting, epis are fast-paced, another solid Nordic drama.
Currently there are links for a handful of shows at the beginning of Season 1 - don’t need bother clicking on the remaining seasons yet :) (If you want more links, or any particular links, go to the links request page in the Forum and follow the instructions there.)
Ouch…. The writing on this show is mind-blowing, the personalities and relationships are very real and engaging…. I’m missing the music tho - more music! He freestyled in an early episode and it was genius - no rapping since then. The scenes leading up to concert performance are great - no performance, just the lead-up. : ( This could be a killer show - I’m really hoping that next season we get a lot more music and less drama.
I loved him in his other show!

He had two shows that I know of - Happy (amazing!) and Surviving Jack. I was disappointed that Jack did not make it, super funny
I had no idea Hitchcock made silent films - wow. Have to check this out.
This is an overlooked and underrated movie carried by a surprisingly great cast - Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Carice van Houten, well-written and acted and some nice unexpected twists. A good watch if you like medieval / good and evil / supernatural stories. 8/10
The swamp setting for the village seems like a fantasy setting but inot a complete fabrication - King Alfred and his court were forced to go into hiding in the marshes of Somerset until they could rebuild forces and face the Vikings and Danes of the ‘Great Heathen Army’ at the Battle of Edington. Check out The Last Kingdom series :)

Somehow I doubt this has much to do with whichever Jules Verne novel it’s claiming to be based on.
Re-binged this over the weekend. Whether you are a classic swing, blues, or early R&B music fan or interested in the history of American music, or a complete jazz head, you will love this series. I have the CD set, if you were going to buy only one collection of pre-pop American music this should be it. 100% solid. 6/5
This movie was amazing! Definitively the best work of his career to date. But it stressed me out SO MUCH I had to have 3 tequila shots.
Just found these, they’re great. Really hope this comes back with another season.
Glad to see some links are back. This is the most beautifully filmed series on each of the big cats.
Here’s what Liev Schrieber’s doing now that Ray Donovan has ended - definitely diving into this. iMDB rating 8.8/10.
I have so many questions. Why did they put that hairstyle on Tom Hardy? Why did Tom Hardy agree to be in this movie? Hilariously good bad movie. This is a cult classic.

I absolutely LOVE Mads Mikkelsen. Anything he’s in is guaranteed to be good. Mads is very versatile and can play any role. He’s one of the best actors there is right now. I’m looking forward to seeing Arctic. Okay - he’s easy on the eyes too :)
totally expected this to link to star wars or something
“RRR”
