This has got to be my least favorite Purge because it lays its agenda down so thick exploiting America’s current social and political climate. The blatant racism throughout was exhausting to watch because we’ve already seen or been through enough of it. I did like that they changed the setting of Purge to Texas and that they flipped the script from trying to keep people from coming to US at border to fleeing from US at border. I also understand how they’re trying to expand this franchise, but honestly I’m Purged out of these movies. They even had a tv show and there’s really nothing but senseless madness to this story now that I’m not interested.
Peevee's comments
Drink every time they say “yo.”
Drink every time Kirt says “yo” and you’d get drunk.
I can’t imagine how wasted you’d get if you drank every time any character says “yo”. Plastered.
Technically a movie franchise not a tv series but the way Netflix is rolling the trilogy out (1 a week for 3 consecutive weeks) makes me think it should have just been a tv series to begin with.
I’d like to see the backlash, if any, this episode will bring. So many criminal Christian organizations. It’s disgusting. John is right. We are doing it wrong.
Oh absolutely! These organizations prey on the naivete and follower attitudes of devout Christians. It’s disgusting!
The (now dropped) allegations against John Jarratt certainly didn’t help a season 3 get made. Now that those allegations seem proven untrue, it could happen…. Maybe?
Just starting it. I saw where it was compared to ‘Braindead” (great show!). What do you think?
It definitely has elements of “Braindead” (same creators, too, Robert and Michelle King) but a lot of the show is done via zoom. There are some scenes that aren’t zoom-y but a good percentage of the show is “made during quarantine, zoom room stuff. I know a lot of people don’t like that style (heck, I’m pretty sick of that style myself!) So I’m just warning you. Its nowhere near as polished as “Braindead” was!
Ha! I watched the first two episodes yesterday at ATX fest and now the whole season is added! :) perfect timing!
I don’t get it!! They won’t tell what time this is coming on on paramount+ which i don’t have anyways. Good thing i have primewire haha!!
3:00 eastern standard time on Sunday mornings is probably when it’ll be on Paramount+
I can get past the laugh track, it’s not a deal breaker for me, but good god those Boston accents are grating. After 15 minutes it was like fingernails on a chalkboard.
Yeah, the Boston accents are a bit much. Again, part of the point of stuff being so phony on those types of sitcoms but still they lay it on thick.
Love this so far. Hope it doesn’t get cancelled because some people won’t get it
Is there anyone that knows if this for sure has ended? just looked it up and says “talk” but here it does indicate “ended” look forward to a 2? Or??? lol
Its a case of if the creator/writer comes up with more stories to tell. Kate has said she’ll do a 2nd season. It’s just up to Inglesby now!
interesting premise only 3 ep listed right now…is it a mini series? ep 1 was good i will stay tuned.
Nope, its a full series but they’ve only listed the first 3 episodes so far
What a beautiful, nuanced season finale! Now there better be a season 3 in the works……
I am typically a sucker for a good WW2 Historical drama, but even with Pacino this was a tough watch. The woman that played Axis Annie could not act her way out of a Junior High musical and the pace was on par with watching paint dry. Ouch.
According to David Ehrlich’s review, the actress bought her role in the movie by using some of the “$800 million fortune she controversially inherited from her much older and very dead vitamin tycoon husband”. Yikes!
Omg are Matilda and Drea getting married in this episode?
Claudia! Vala! Aeryn Sun!! What an unexpected treat.
The “behind the scenes” part at the end really helped explain details that were confusing, to say the least. All cleared up now. Can’t wait for new episodes.
This series is fantastic!
Is anyone else getting a “Greta Thunberg”-vibe from “Fupa”… The only difference is that Greta is a PR and political stunt.
This episode was funny and sweet and romantic (Congrats on the engagement!) But also sad with the Alex and Nicholas stuff and of course Barb’s chronic neuroses! it also let us see Genevieve in a whole new light imho. Gosh darn, Maeve Press is adorable in this role!
Only a couple episodes left in the season. Will it end with a wedding or multiple breakups?
One thing is for certain: I do not like Oscar. Run away now, Genevieve!
Twenty minutes in and I’m ready to vomit. Too much switching back and forth too soon. “Damages” was great at going back and forth but this is like being on a bad mushroom trip. Besides that, the lead girl is way out of her league. The director should have told her to tone it down. Cringe!
I’ll agree that the girl playing the coward Jeannette Turner pretty as she is is overacting or weirdly underacting. Everyone else on the show acts circles around her (except for Kevin Smith’s kid who is so bad in this) but I have to disagree about all the switching back and forth. I love it. Gives you whiplash a little bit but I enjoy that whiplash.
Would they have used the term “grooming” in that way in 1995? I hadn’t heard that term used that way until like mid-2000s.
Just a nitpick though. Love the show.
Surprisingly good, funny and ultimately sad short story starring Anne Hathaway in 3 roles. Lots of cool pop culture references too. Curious to find out how the Rest of this series is!
People acting like Bruce Willis is Daniel Day-Lewis when it comes to acting quality.
You mean he ISN’T? ;)
