They have different worlds, different lifestyles... What if they meet? After a car accident with his fiancée, Luke can no longer walk without the assistance of orthopedic canes. Because of his disability, his fiancée leaves him. While at a barbecue at his best friend's home, Luke then meets Laurette. They fall in love and marry despite pressure from Luke's grandparents. But, what happens? Laurette pressures Luke to leave his family or obtain a piece of land, an early inheritance from his grandfather, so that they can live a life separate from his grandparents. Luke's grandfather refuses and Laurette leaves him. Laurette is forced to file for a divorce, but find they are unable to stay apart. They continue to see each other secretly, until Loretta runs out of the money she received from the divorce settlement provided by Luke's grandfather. They turn to Luke's house to live, and Luke's grandfather gives an ultimatum to his grandson: leave Laurette and stay or stay with Laurette and leave with nothing. They leave together, hoping to build a new life, but Luke is unable to get a job and becomes increasingly depressed. Laurette tells Luke that she can no longer stand by and watch him destroy himself and goes out for a night on the town alone. Upon her return, Luke threatens to shoot Laurette, she tells him to go ahead and kill her; Luke pulls the trigger, killing Laurette. Luke somehow manages to get Laurette's body out of the house and to a remote location on his family's property. After placing Laurette's body on top of gathered branches and twigs, he lights it all on fire and watches Laurette's body burn. He momentarily considers killing himself, but is unable to do so and apologizes to Laurette for not being strong enough to do so. While Garland seems disinterested in Bobby's performance, he actually was listening carefully as the world eventually not only hears Garland perform Outlaw Blues on the radio, but he has copyrighted the song claiming it as his own work. Once released, Bobby has to decide what to do about Garland stealing his song, knowing largely that it's his word and that of a bunch of other convicts against that of a renowned country music star. What happens between Bobby and Garland is affected by one of Garland's backup singers, Tina Waters, who was at the sound check and who believes her ingenuity should be able to reap her some financial benefit, and by Austin Chief of Police Buzz Cavenaugh, a personal friend of Garland's, Buzz who has to deal with the situation as it is ruining his chances in his run for Austin mayor.

He is brought in to put corrupt cops under control but only faces mockery and hostility from his peers. Vice squad detective, Jack Vincennes, is still paying for his crime of killing an innocent man mistaken for a heroin smuggler and covering it up. Each month, he anonymously leaves cash to the murdered man's widow and young son to help support them, and between busting and blackmailing prostitutes and their influential clients, he is still trying to find out who the real smugglers are. Meanwhile, aspiring young actress, Lynn Bracken, arrives in Hollywood and gets invited to a 'who's who' party held by a seedy playboy and mogul, Pierce Patchett. The pilot is narrated by Sid Hudgens, the chief editor of the L.A Confidential tabloid magazine. The pilot ends on a 'to be continued...' note. The pilot eventually aired in 2003 on Trio, a CBC cable channel specialized in airing unsold TV pilots, and it's included as a bonus feature on the special DVD version of the 1997 movie.

TV Show: Muppets Tonight ( 1996 )
Muppets Tonight was a short lived new version of the classic The Muppet Show, that hoped to appeal to a new generation. This series continued with several traditions that the original series did. Each episode revolved around a celebrity guest and there were new Muppet skits throughout the show. New Muppets are introduced throughout the series who would later appear in the newer Muppet films. The show itself gains a new host as Kermit the Frog passes the torch to a new Muppet named Clifford who hosts the show. In February 2004, Disney Enterprises bought two major Jim Henson properties: the Muppets and Bear in the Big Blue House. "Muppets Tonight!" premiered its first 10 episodes on ABC. The remaining episodes aired on the Disney Channel until the show's cancellation.
