A series of celebrity sketches set at a radio station. Some unorthodox calisthenics (including corset tightening, cradle rocking, and stock ticker reading) start the action. Bing Crosby (OK, Cros Bingsby according to the sign) sings from his bathtub to adoring women. A quick world tour shows us the Shanghai Police trying hard to sleep on the job, a cannibal tuning in a cooking show, an Eskimo hooking a whale, and a sultan changing the station from belly dancing music to Amos and Andy. A safe-cracker has an unexpected twist on the title song. He's followed up by Greta Garbo, Zasu Pitts, and Mae West. Throughout, Ed Wynn keeps announcing that it's 8 o'clock.

Baseball. The Chicago Giants, led by rooster pitcher Dizzy Dan, are playing the Hicksville team. Dan arrives in Hicksville and sings the title song while eyeing local pitcher Claude's girl. The game. Showboat Dan throws two strikes so hard his catcher is thrown backwards; the turtle catcher uses a stovepipe to send the third strike back to Dan. A Giant batter hits the ball; the Hicksville pitcher loses it in a hailstorm of balls. The Giant batter, a weiner dog, manages to touch two bases at once, thus stretching his hit into a homer. Dan, showboating, lets two strikes go by, then when he hits, preens a while before running, but he still makes his run. Bottom of the ninth, 3-0, 2 outs, Hicksville pitcher Claude at bat. Arrogantly, Dan has walked three batters just to get to him, so bases are loaded. After missing a fast ball and a slow ball, Claude hits his grand-slam homer and keeps his girl, laughing in Dan's face.

A woman's house, on the side of the cliff, is about to fall into the sea, due to waves washing away the cliff. In a panic, she call's Porky's moving company. Porky's assistant, a former boxer, starts swinging when he hears a bell until hit on the head, when he stops and says, "Okay, boss." Porky's van is pulled by an ostrich. They get to the house and have various adventures while moving the furniture, mostly because the entire house keeps tilting back and forth on the shaky ground. Finally, a big wave washes most of the house's contents into the van.

The farm is suffering through a terrible drought. Porky's father sends him to the store to buy some feed with their last dollar. Outside the store, a huckster is selling pills to create all kinds of weather, and they really work. Porky buys them instead of the feed, but when he gets home, his angry father throws them on the ground. The animals eat the pills, and are afflicted with lightning, earthquakes, fog, etc. Finally, Porky explains, and he and his father go looking for the rain pill, but before they can get it, a duck (still afflicted by a wind pill) eats it. Fortunately, the wind causes the duck to eject the rain pill into a cloud and the farm is saved.

Porky and his pet ostrich, Lulu, get invited to perform on Broadway for $75/week. But first they have to get there, and the train conductor won't let the ostrich board. Porky sneaks her on. She gets loose and eats a sleeping woman's wig, a boy's toy airplane, and a concertina. Porky hides her in a guitar case, but she gets out as the conductor comes by, and they are both thrown off. They enlist a hand cart and a cow to outrun the train.

Porky and some of his fellow sailors are on shore leave in a bar. A pirate captain discovers that his own crew has jumped ship and forces everyone in the bar to become his crew. The captain treats the crew badly, particularly denying them food (eating the meat off bones, then passing them only the bones). The crew mutinies after a week; the captain tries to fend them off with a cannon, but ends up sending himself into the explosives stores. They explode, and the captain ends up towing the crew on a raft.

The pup is at first frightened when he encounters Sylvester, but the youngster (remembering his father's lesson) soon becomes a thorn in the pussycat's side. Sylvester makes several failed attempts to get rid of the pesky puppy (including concealing him under a tin can and throwing a stick into a busy street). In the end, the stork (for once, sober) shows up with another litter of mean bulldogs and Butch demanding that Sylvester care for them.

Sylvester prefers to go back to the dog.

Sure enough, Honey remains safe on this outing; but Bosko soon finds himself in great peril. His troubles begin with an ostrich that steals his derby. Later, a porcupine will be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But the real trouble starts when Bosko spanks a misbehaving monkey, which incurs the wrath of the monkey's enormous father. It won't be long before Bosko wins the narrowest of escapes from the ape, a snake and that roaring lion.

An amorous skunk, Pepe Le Pew, spots her from shore and runs underwater to the ship, which has by now been abandoned by frightened crew and passengers, and climbs aboard. Pepe tries to woo the female cat, who runs away from him when she smells his odor. Pepe chases her around and around the ship.

They leave the kitten on a lady's doorstep. A year later, on their "son's" birthday, Clyde and Matilda decide to visit him at his new home, and though the fully-grown cat remembers his adoptive rodent parents, his mistress doesn't like the presence of two mice in her home.

He grabs the nearest piece of ice he can find to apply to his head, and again he has made a mistake. The ice is the Sunflame Diamond, and two policemen, one of them a lunkhead, are assigned to investigate the "theft" of the jewel. They bungle all their attempts to catch the mouse, who has the jewel tied to his head.
