A loft-like, open feel is given to a dark and outdated family room. The ceiling is demo'd to expose the Douglas fir beams, the carpet is ripped out to show the beautiful concrete, and new porcelain tile re-faces a stone fireplace. Before the room had two awkward bars. One is walled over and turned into a kids space complete with chalkboard paint on the walls and custom felt furniture. The other is built out into a useable L shape design with sink, cabinets, a custom lighting fixture, and bamboo top. The highlight might be the panoramic doors that stretch 16 feet across the room and open up onto the patio. Mid-century modern, minimal furniture turn this room into a sleek family lounge. |

prism : I'm not going to lie, the end confused me. I had to Google it to understand.
