Three children are injured, putting extra pressure on the doctors and paramedics. Not only are they all parents themselves, but also childrens' bodies are much more delicate than adults', so the potential for complications is high.Four-year-old Alex has been run over by the family car, leaving him with possibly serious internal injuries; six-year-old Luca has come head-first off his bike, smashing his face on the ground; and 16-year-old Katie has also fallen, but off a horse, and at speed.For the crews of the Air Ambulance, it is a tricky balancing act, dealing with injured and frightened children as well as with their understandably distressed parents. |
