Ranger Tommy has more for the Jase, Simon and Nige to explore on Mornington Island. Today they start at Gununa township and head down an old outstation track that Tommy hasn't been on in 20 years. It leads them right to a soft tidal plain which means the Jase and his big 79 series break through the crust, so it's time to break out the recovery gear. He pops out just as the tide starts coming in, and so they make a break for higher ground. After another saltwater crossing and some 4wding through the scrub, the track opens up to the cliff on the coast which looks like the perfect spot for camp. |
