The officer that Ignat had been reporting to has been killed, so he must convince a different officer of his allegiance. Ignat joins Gorely's gang, and asks for their help to release Viola, who is in high danger in prison. The major's wife attempts to murder him, but is unsuccessful. Ignat pretends to capture Gorely in front of the major in order to get Viola back. |
