Tristan's father, Tonio, is killed by vampires as he sacrificed himself for Tristan's safety. Mateo made a weighty decision when they met Sandrino which is to become a vampire again. Lia also risked her own life in exchange for the safety of Malia. The Luna, werewolves, and vampires protecting Malia are all killed by Sandrino and his forces including Clarisse, Benjie, and others. Malia was able to escape under Baristo's protection. Using his power of illusion, Sandrino manages to deal a devastating blow on Mateo and Lia, leading to them both dying while holding hands. |
