Southern food gets schooled when Damaris Phillips and NASCAR personality Rutledge Wood indulge in a super-sized fried chicken and waffle sandwich at the hip, nostalgia-inspired Lunchbox Eats in Memphis. Then it's on to Damaris' hometown of Louisville, Ky to chow down on Southern staples fused with Asian flavors at MilkWood. They try their housemade fried pork rinds, watermelon soup, and the chef's pan seared Grouper. Later it doesn't get any more off the beaten path than at Walls BBQ in Savannah, where an indoor open pit is grilling up mouth-watering chicken alongside ooey, gooey mac & cheese. |
