Right? I also am frustrated by the way they give black & gay people waaaay more power, freedom and authority than what was true to this time in history. It’s a slap in the face for anyone who has fought for equality.
Remember, this was in Toronto CANADA, not the U.S. They were a lot less racist against blacks, but since it was predominantly Catholic at that time, they were very prejudiced against gays. They were also racist against their indigenous people. Still, it’s not true to history, but then, it’s based on a series of cozy novels, so what do you expect? Fantasy, all of it.
