I agree with you on the religious aspect. Someone who is religious and/or apart of a conservative community depicted in this movie will relate more, but the emotional aspect of not being who you truly are is something that can be felt by anyone. I think this movie was ok, although I find myself being more curious on the aftermath more than the events leading up to the end. I did not like Rachel McAdams in this role…something about her did not convince me of the character she was playing. Other than that, I really liked the Dovid character and especially his development toward the end. I really felt his pain.
Thanks simplyboo ya Rachel McAdams part should have been cast with someone in a different headspace.
