What’s the worst a citizen of Russia could safely say about Putin, online, in theory? Something that disparages, but which some would say, if saying themselves, was honestly said.

No? Putin the risk in risque, as it were?

Point being, too dangerous to even type hypothetical example of an opinion, is a limitation upon honesty. Stating actual negative fact, let alone negative opinion? Especially in Russian press, or as a political opponent of Putin within Putin’s Russia? That lack of candor as preventative against state-sanctioned violence is a defining Russian trait at the moment.

*not that israel currently isn’t as ‘questionable’ when it comes to palestinians as russia is with what it ‘claims its own’ [see: donbassians; crimeans]
