Surviving the Stone Age (2020)

It was an interesting first episode, but it brought up more questions than it answered. Theses people are STARTING with the tools that our ancestors had, and the knowledge of how to use them. If you believe that our predecessors crawled out of the ocean, or climbed down from trees, who TAUGHT them to make, and use these tools? Did they GUESS? LOL! Trial and error? The people in this series are having trouble EATING…SURVIVING…and they have a BIG advantage! They have been well nourished their whole lives, and should be superior, mentally, AND physically. Was there some generational, or epochal Einstein that led the way for our forbears?

Yes trial and error and inspiration. Like any invention nobody taught the inventor because the concept or technology didnt exist prior to its inception. Bows for example. It doesnt take a genius to see the potential of a sprung piece of wood after being whacked in the face by branch that’s been bent back out of the way and at least in the case of homo sapiens they were every bit as intelligent and capable as we are now. Yes these people have the advantage of being well nourished their whole lives but they dont have the advantage of survival being the entirety of their existence for the whole of their lives. They survived because they had no choice. Because they were steeped in it and because if they couldnt feed cloth medicate and otherwise maintain themselves they died and those who could survived to continue to struggle and innovate.
