I don’t know how I feel about that. Yes it’s good to see people of color in roles, however, back in the 19th century the few black people in Britain would have been servants.
But since this is a work of fiction they can do whatever they want. It’s a fantasy world
Just like all the sex and openness, that didn’t happen.
I couldn’t watch it after one episode. I guess I’m used to the traditional 19th British costume dramas

sooooooo, to clarify for the people in the back…..you didn’t watch it because the black people in this series were not playing the traditional roles of servants or slaves and there was too much sex? Not quite sure how to feel about your comment except it could have been simplified by keeping that comment to yourself or saying “it just wasn’t my cup of tea”. This is the internet and people will say and post anything they want because it’s with in their right but, sometimes less is more. If you still don’t understand….. I DO take offense to your comment.
