Last song: Norman Greenbaum - Spirit In The Sky. How fitting for that last scene.
SJ Robert's comments
Not bad. A bit better than the earlier movie with Dolph Lundgren. 3.5/5 Travolta is always very good. Thomas Jane, Rebecca Romijn and the rest all good.
Classic. Nicholson and DeVito at their finest, and perhaps DeVito’s best as Director. Soooo well done. Hard ending, beware. Solid 4.5/5.
Lesson: don’t be sentimental. If Bobby hadn’t have kept that old card, it wouldn’t have ended that way. (Maybe similarly, but not THAT way.)

Great ‘70’s int’l action crime drugs assassin period piece. Anthony Quinn, Michael Caine, James Mason - brilliant all. Wow - damn good.
Watched all 6 episodes in 1 sitting & found it to be a good show. Give it 3.5 out of 5. No show ever makes it to 5……
5’s are reserved for true classics, for me - those that 10 years from now are remembered as one of your favorites of all time. Very rarely given.
I was sure I’d seen this before but I couldn’t remember anything about it
Rarely does a sequel equal the original. This one equaled or possibly surpassed the original, and actually is worthy of another sequel. Not only is Denzel great, as always, but all the secondary roles were played superbly, even minor parts.
Classic. Saw it as a kid from the back of the station wagon with my siblings on one of the family’s drive-in theater excursions. Loved this one as a kid. Still excellent.
Guy Pearce is such a fantastic actor. This 15 minute short is quite good.
Wow. Anna Camp is not only drop dead gorgeous, she’s got a for real incredible voice.
The one that started it all. The first of the no-name trilogy (followed by For A Few Dollars More and The Good, The Bad and the Ugly) - all 5-star classics.
Wow. This is quite a discovery. All star cast. Intriguing characters. A murder mystery in a non-routine setting. Ep 1 was quite good. Glad I found this.
Pretty good, fun heist movie. Radha Mitchell is gorgeous in this. And anything with Robert Forster is always good.
Oldie but goodie. Can’t believe I’m the first commenter for this one. Great performances by familiar faces.
Yeah, I remember him from Moonlighting. Good show, good part for him. I was thinking too about the guy with ‘a special set of skills’ or something another (I’m blocking on his name). Ah—Liam Neeson.
Pierce Brosnan. If you remember him in Remington Steele you’d never believe back then that he’d be James Bond, and a damn good one!
Combination of The Man From Nowhere, Falling Down and Home Alone. Fun and well done!
The classic holds up very well.
Besides those listed, excellent cast also includes Ernest Borgnine, Lee Marvin and Walter Brennan.
Classic, early Hitchcock. One of my favorites as a kid. LOVE that early helicopter scene.
Came to watch Alfred Molina, an underrated great. Sally Field was also very good. And Roshan Seth has a small part. I’ll never forget how excellent he was as Nehru in the movie, Gandhi (one of the truly great films of all time). 3.5/5
dood.watch and mixdrop show a different episode: The Tong, not The Salamander. Great episode!

One of the true classic war movies. All star cast. At the time, incredible cinematography (great on a wide-screen). And great story by Alistair MacLean.
Excellent. And beautiful cinematography of the Canadian Rockies - Wow! Great for a wide-screen.
I honestly watched it thinking I’d hate it bc it DOES sound ridiculous. But I honestly quite liked it. I think adding supernatural shit to it made it pretty interesting and enjoyed all the acting. He wasn’t like any other Sherlock I’ve personally seen and I’ve watched a ton of Holmes adaptations lol I hope you watch it and I hope you enjoy it! I’m still upset they’ve canceled it lol
Hey, that was really good. Story, acting, way they presented it - all excellent.
Looking for something to binge watch, and from the comments, I think I’ll try it. I need something exciting.
Here’s a couple not too old shows that were canceled prematurely that are good binge series: Human Target and Terriers.
I’m so sad that this got canceled :(
Frankly and ironically, that makes it more likely I may watch it. The description seems a mish-mash trying to cram overdone supernatural memes with Sherlock Holmes mystery crime drama. Meh. But I do like single-season binges occasionally. I may bookmark it and give it a try.
Great and unexpected twist with e Breathers. And when you realise why these ‘rules’ actually exist, it makes so much more sense.
Yep. Realizing the importance of the rules at the end is how the whole movie makes sense - explains the twist.
PrimeWire titles are wrong for S2 E5 and E6. The titles are switched. S2E5 is The Squawman and S2E6 is The Spirit Helper.
PrimeWire title description is wrong. The episode is entitled, “The Squawman,” not “The Spirit Helper.” The next episode is “The Spirit Helper.”
Dame Mirren never disappoints, and the chemistry with Sir McKellen works well. The two greats keep you riveted throughout. The twist at the end is expected, but done well I thought. Nice! 3.5/5
Good but audio is too quiet and the English accents made subtitles required. I was only able to get the subtitles working well with the mixdrop.co player, but then it was worth it. Beautiful cinematography and suspenseful throughout. 3.5/5
Did you know that over 2/3 of the U.S. military is under 30?
If the writers are true to form, they would indeed cast these characters as younger. You have to be between the ages of 18 and 26 to enter military service, so even if you went the full 20 years, you’d be no older than 46 at retirement, even if you came in at 26.
I don’t think they’re dissing the middle aged here, the military is a majority-young service, even if you’re a witch.
Another weird but wonderful Brit Marling movie.
(But The East is my favorite (so far), made next after this.)
Disappointing remake of Kungfu and has all your stereotypes involved. If you want to want kung fu (which should have been bruce lee but they wanted a white man and stole it from him) go watch that one. It at least has real kung fu in it. Not the Hollywood version of kung fu. 1/5
It wasn’t “stolen” from Bruce Lee. That’s a myth. Lee promoted a series that also had a Kung Fu artist traveling through the west, kicking butt. But that character wasn’t a monk, encouraging peace. Lee’s show was titled, The Warrior. The concept of the half-white Shaolin Monk coming to the U.S. west as a peaceful person was proposed years earlier by Ed Spielman in 1967. Lee auditioned for the role of Kwai Chang Caine but didn’t have the personality of a monk and his accent was too strong for the leading character. Also, the U.S. market in 1972 wasn’t “ready” for an Asian lead actor. Others, like George Takei and Mako also auditioned. Takei was the President of an Asian actors group and protested, but to no avail. But at least the show’s success created lots of work for the Asian acting community, more than any other show. There’s no way it would have succeeded with Bruce Lee in the leading role. His English wasn’t good, American audience was too white, and he had anything but a calm monk-like nature. It wasn’t stolen from him. Also, when Hollywood instead offered to make The Warrior with him separately, he wanted to wait and see how successful his latest full-length movies was. When it became successful, he declined the offer to make The Warrior - not wanting to be a TV actor when he could be a movie star instead.
Brutal rape-revenge flick. Good if that’s your cup of tea.
Now for the 2011 remake.
Thanks to all! In that case I’ll watch the original first, then come back to this one.
When I first saw this movie the song at the end credits floored me. I had to research it and find out who it was. That was how I discovered Bjork. “I Play Dead” is still one of my favorite songs of hers. (Great YouTube vid of this song.) Oh, and the movie is really good, too. Harvey Keitel kills it, as usual. As does Viggo Mortenson. And my favorite role of Terence Rigby’s. And Thandie Newton at her loveliest.
