Pretty good episode. This is now the only current series I look forward to each week. I am not sold on the male lead - not S. Bean - but there are other very strong performances from the ensemble cast. I am watching “Debris” but it is totally sub-par. Help me out here fellow watchers. I need some recommendations, perferrably no rom-com or YA. Thank you.

Have you seen the end of the f*ing world? Yeah technically it’s both a (dark) Rom com AND YA but it’s good. 2 seasons. If you like that also try out “Wayne”
Another show that should have received a second season, at the very least!
That’s probably because it’s on a weird channel. A lot of shows on “deep cable” get lost amid the shuffle.
it’s not really the evolution of sitcoms, it’s more that they are trapped in a sitcom world and slowly they are trying to escape it and this is just guessing, but Marvel has a character fixated on tv shows; Mojo, so it might be him behind it
Yeah but they are using the trapped in a sitcom premise to show how sitcoms —- and America —- evolved over the decades.
Watched the first two episodes so far. Show is pretty damn good. Let’s just hope no filler episodes.
I’m not surprised it ended, it had a decent start but that was about it. The fact that it got a season 2 was surprising. Based on S1, i personally didn’t see it getting renewed.
I thought it was a legitimately funny show throughout personally and the kids were great, Marlow Barkley especially.
@yonkk’s description is correct. Nothing like the cartoon version. Kinda the same treatment as the CAOS. I would like to see a season 2 but not counting on it, cause Netflix is petty like that.
Netflix seems to cancel everything these days that isn’t an instant “Bridgerton”-style smash. Even CAOS didn’t get to do their big crossover with “Riverdale” that was going to be in season 5.
It certainly doesn’t help that Netflix doesn’t promote most of their shows well at all.
I wonder if those reviews you mentioned got access to more than just the pilot episode. normally profesional reviewers get the first 3 or 4 episodes and sometimes as much as half the season to make a full judgement.
Very true Jhigh03! I can’t see this going too hardcore horror. It’s definitely starter horror and I’m ok with that.
I wouldn’t be surprised if after season 5 it gets renewed for season 6 and then they announce season 6 will be the end.
George Jetson comes to life. Not really, but he did come to mind when I watched the 1st episode. For those of you to young to even know who George Jetson was, you can google him.
My favorite member of the Addams family. With Burton at the helm there is hope that it will be more than just another teen angst, coming of age drama. Fingers crossed.
It’s also Miles Millar and Alfred Gough who did “Smallville”, though.
I think it’s gonna be very much “Legacies” but with Wednesday Addams instead of Hope Mikaelsson. I hope I’m wrong.
Oh man. This last episode really got to me. Now, it takes a lot for a tv show to bring water to my eyes. But this one did. I binge-watched this season (something I do rarely), and I was not bored at all. Kudos to the people involved with this season. Can’t wait to see what season 2 will bring. Definitely worth a watch.
The season 1 finale was amazing. I remember watching it when it originally aired. Seasons 2 and 3 are generally seen as less good than season 1 but it’s best you see for yourself but yes, the first season finale was spectacular! 👍
A show I’ve been looking forward to for a while. I’m looking forward to finally checking it out!
When Hallmark Channel stops making “Hallmark Channel” type shows, you get prime Video trying to fill that niche lol.
For a hallmark show, this is really good. The show keeps you wondering and wanting to watch the next episode. This is more than just a drama series. Each episode makes you think, especially with the time travel stuff.
Excited to hear that it was renewed for a second season, but bummed I am going to have to wait a year to get more answers!
Thomasin McKenzie from “JoJo Rabbit” and Adolf Hitler together again lol. This is sure to be significantly less comedic than Taika’s film though.
I absolutely love when a show I’ve heard absolutely nothing about drops on here! Excited to crack into this!
Pretty good episode. This is now the only current series I look forward to each week. I am not sold on the male lead - not S. that funny, u called it starter horror. Not sure if you watched the return of TWD yet, but when it premire on TV proper on sunday “The World Beyond” will follow after TWD. and that episode seemes to be the most grapich I’ve seen in a long while.
I don’t care if it’s a good movie or not, I’M WATCHING JUST FOR THE GREAT CAST!!!!
Seriously it got cancel? It was too good to be cancel. I was hoping for season 2
It wasn’t really canceled. HBO wanted a 2nd season but Damon Lindelof didn’t want to do any more. HBO knew better than to hire a different writer so it was a one and done.
I can get past the laugh track, it’s not a deal breaker for me, but good god those Boston accents are grating. After 15 minutes it was like fingernails on a chalkboard.
Yeah, the Boston accents are a bit much. Again, part of the point of stuff being so phony on those types of sitcoms but still they lay it on thick.
I watched and enjoyed the BBC version of this show that was released a couple years ago, they are in their 3rd season. I can’t believe how very similar the scripts are and the ghost characters. Reminds me of Shameless, watch the first episode of the British version and then the American version and the script is almost identical. No imagination on the US side.
Now I did like the show and will continue to watch it just to see if they change anything but I doubt it.
The pilot episodes of the British and American versions of “The Office” are nearly identical too, of course, that show diverged A LOT from the original after the pilot so one really remembers the near word-for-word pilot.
My god. Now what in the world kind of nonsense premiere was THAT?! I ended up forwarding all through. This isn’t some tired soap opera, get back to the real characters already. And there’s going to be a part 2?! Lord.
Not a bad series. It’s cancellation came after Jon-Erik Hexum’s untimely death.
Actually this show was canceled before that incident. He was on another show (about a bodyguard Of a supermodel I believe that was pretty popular) when he died and that show was canceled because of that.
This show rules. it’s really fun and surprisingly sexy for a Disney+ Show which i like a lot
Buckle your seatbelts Ladies and Germs, it’s an Elora Danan (yes, like the baby from “Willow”) centric episode!
Episode 5 was only released online due to sexual misconduct allegations levelled against star Noel Clarke.
will there be a season 2……..
Yes though they had to shut down production on season 2 due to COVID. Be patient.
Messing does an IMPERSONATION of the comedy persona of Lucy. This is a quasi-biopic of Lucy. Different thing entirely.
She looks like my aunt who was on meth lol. My aunt’s been dead for over a decade though.
I really liked “Mindhunter” and it was total BS that Netflix cancelled such a terrific series, it had such incredible potential too. Thanks for suggesting this one and looking forward to watching it.
They recently announced a third season of Mindhunter is in very early development
Speaking of quirky, Shannyn’s son is Audio Science Clayton.
Spell that with your alphabet soup.
Penn from Penn and Teller has a daughter named Moxy Crimefighter
And Jason Lee has a kid with a weird name too. I think Lee’s son is Pilot Inspektor I think
