they should try to give this show another try

PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

I agree with you but after this long period of time, doubt we’ll ever see another season! It isn’t often that a tv drama is about the sheriff’s department and how this area of law enforcement is run is so different than a police department. I live in a rather big county and the sheriff’s department has to patrol the whole county with a smaller department than local police departments.

Yellowstone (2018) S4 E5
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I haven’t finished watching this episode, but man that opening scene was powerful! Beth’s comment about the good die young made me smile and what she said described her totally! I watched Kevin in his first movie back in the early 1980’s and thought, “Man, this guy can’t act but he sure is good to look at.” Thankfully his acting as gotten so much better over the years and I think tv is a better fit for him.

Dexter: New Blood (2021)
Lightworker 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

If you didn’t watch the last season, then you have no idea who Hannah is, so when Harrison talks about her, it means nothing to you. I’d watch the final season of Dexter, it’s good.

PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I did watch the final season about a week ago. Thanks for the suggestion.

The Beatles: Get Back (2021)
PonderThis 4 points 2 years ago.

I was in grade school during the 1960’s and just happened to be home sick on a Sunday night. Yup, I got to see The Beatles on the Ed Sullivan show. How lucky was I? Being a child of the 1960’s for me was incredible! The bands I grew up listening to! I do think the 1960’s was the most important decade ever! So many things happening, especially here in America.

Dexter: New Blood (2021)
PonderThis 3 points 2 years ago.

I stopped watching Dexter before the series ended. Should I go back and watch the seasons I didn’t see before watching his new series? Would I be totally lost if I didn’t watch the last season of Dexter before watching this new series?

Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E1
PonderThis 3 points 2 years ago.

Am I the only one who had to re-watch the last episode of season 3 to remember what happened? But it’s finally here……where’s my popcorn and soda pop…..aww there it…gonna set back and enjoy this first new episode of the 4th season…..live long and prosper my fellow Trekkies!

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (2022)
PonderThis 16 points 2 years ago.

Never did I think as a kid watching Star Trek (back in the late 60’s), that someday there would be so many different story lines. Yes, I was lucky to be a grade school kid in the 1960’s and watched every new episode (the new tv season started in September)each week until the end of the season (which was May). Then I got to watch it again in the summer months as a re-run. I never got tired of seeing ST and with so many new spin-offs now, I won’t get tired anytime soon of seeing one Star Trek episode after another! Live long and prosper.

Yellowstone (2018) S4 E1
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Jefferson White (aka “Jimmy”) has popped up on the new drama Invasion. Not sure if he will have a continuing part in Invasion since he seems to be leaving the Yellowstone Ranch. Not sure if his departure is long term or not. I liked his character and would have loved to see it develop even more. One character leaves and another arrives in the form of a 14 year old named “Chubby” or Carter. Since Beth can’t have children, guess this is her chance to be a mother. Would this be a good thing or a bad thing? Time will tell, only time will tell.

Monroe (2011)
Alien 1 points 2 years ago.

Wish I could clear things up for you but it’s been about 8 or 9 yrs since I watched this. At that time I was on a James Nesbitt kick.

PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

Thanks and you would think since Bremner is the way she is, they would have done a couple episodes of her dealing with the news of being pregnanat. This is a good drama and sad that it lasted only 2 seasons. I like James Nesbitt too and watch just about anything/everything he’s in.

Monroe (2011)
Alien 1 points 2 years ago*.

According to Wikipedia and IMDb each season has 6 episodes.

PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

According to google, there are supposed to be 12 episodes which I guess includes season 2. I really think they are more episodes in season 1 and I would love to know if I’m correct. A couple more episodes in season 1 to explain Bremner’s reaction to becoming pregnant and the turmoil she would have been in and having to decide what to do. I’m about to watch episode 2 of season 2 and no flash backs of season one to explain her becoming pregnant yet.

Monroe (2011)
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago*.

Apparently there are 12 episodes of Monroe in season one but only 6 have been uploaded. Season 2 started out with Dr. Bremner becoming a mother and I was very confused. In episode 6 she and Dr. Shepard had just started dating and now they’re parents.

had just started dating……

Invasion (2021)
PonderThis 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I, for one, like this new drama so far and yes, it can be slow at times. But we need the back story so we can see how they were before the arrival. Now we will see how they take this new journey and see who and who won’t survive. Why did some children have bloody noses and some didn’t? Are they “the chosen ones” by the aliens and what is their purpose for choosing certain humans? Doesn’t sound good in my opinion.

Outlander (2014) S6 E1
PonderThis 4 points 2 years ago.

I’m looking forward to season 6 needless to say! But, I’m also looking forward to the movie “Belfast” starring Caitriona Balfe, Judi Dench, Jamie Dornan, Ciaran Hinds, and Jude Hill (is the young boy in the movie). Takes place in 1969 and this movie is in black and white which gives it a lot of depth of field. Comes out on November 12th of this year. Caitriona is such a good actress and makes any character come to life with passion!

New Amsterdam (2018) S4 E2
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

If Ryan Eggold is leaving this drama and Michelle Forbes takes over as chief I may stop watching! I have never liked her in any tv show or movie! She is a good actor but I just don’t care for her at all!

The Resident (2018) S5 E2
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Emily VanCamp had asked to be released from her contract due to being pregnant. Hence her departure and she was one reason I watched this drama, but not sure how it will proceed without her. The first 2 episodes of this season seemed okay without her thus far and we shall see.

Hawkeye (2021)
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

Just watched the trailer for this mini-series and looks interesting. A little comedy-action type series. Mark you calendars for 11-24-21, Thanksgiving eve.

Silent Witness (1996) S9 E3
PonderThis 0 points 2 years ago.

In this episode Mary Ogden is played by Freema Agyeman even though she’s only on screen for a few seconds at a time, she stands out. If you’re a fan of New Amsterdam you will recognize her as Dr. Helen Sharpe. She has come a long way from playing bit parts at the age of 26 to a lead actress in a very good medical drama now at the age of 42.

Bergerac (1981) S9 E11
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

In this last episode of the series, who pops up? None other than Bill Nighy and a very young Bill too. It ended on a good note and hated for it to end. Back in 2019 there was talk of a re-boot of Bergerac with a new lead actor portraying Bergerac. I guess that didn’t happen or covid played a part in it not going forward in 2020.

Bergerac (1981) S9 E8
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

In this episode you’ll see Eamonn Walker as Conrad. Even though the part is small, I still recognized him. Thirty years later he has a major part in Chicago Fire, Eamonn Walker plays Chief Wallace Boden and in his 9th season too. I think he has found success across the pond.

Good Will Hunting (1998)
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

If you’re a fan of Yellowstone and Cole Hauser (he plays Rip Wheeler), then check him out in this movie. Who knew right?

Bergerac (1981) S7 E3
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

If you’re a fan of “Call the Midwife” you might recognize Pepe in this episode of Bergerac. A very young Stephen McGann.

Bergerac (1981) S5 E2
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Well, Sir Michael John Gambon is in this episode from 1987 and an interesting episode about the early days of computers. Don’t ask me how I saw this episode since there aren’t any links for this episode……..

Bergerac (1981)
bevnick 1 points 2 years ago.

I’m enjoying this, too. It’s fun to see John Nettles and Annette Badland in earlier roles. Not to mention the Guest Stars, who are actors of some renown now.

PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

Annette left the show I think in season 4 and of course no reason was given. Annette did pop up as a guest star on the new British drama Whitstable Pearl. If you’ve not watched, give it a go.

Whitstable Pearl (2021)

Not bad, maybe it will get better.

Bergerac (1981) S2 E2
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

As I’ve said before, you never know who will pop up on this drama! Joanne Whalley is 22 in this episode and WOW! When I saw her eyes I knew it had to be her and sure enough I was right!

Bergerac (1981) S2 E1
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I like watching these old British dramas because you never know who is going to appear in any given episode! A very, very young Phil Davis is in the episode! Very thin and rather handsome at age 30 I might add!

Bergerac (1981)
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I’m really enjoying this series and just wish the episodes were longer than 50 minutes. I watched Martin Shaw in Inspector George Gently before watching him in The Professionals. Now I’m doing the same thing here, watched Midsomer Murders before watching Bergerac. I think both men look far better in their 70’s than in their 30’s! Their acting is spot on no matter what age they were/are!

In the Dark (2019) S3 E1
PonderThis 0 points 2 years ago.

I’m 31 minutes into the 1st episode of season 3 and I’ve had enough! Not sure if I want to continue on or not! Murphy was getting on my nerves in season 2. I’ll head back over to Midsomer Murders and settle in with a nice hot cuppa tea and relish the calmness of Tom & Ben……

The Knick (2014)
snazzydetritus 8 points 2 years ago.

“In September 2020, Soderbergh confirmed that a new season of The Knick is in development led by Barry Jenkins and André Holland, who would return as his character Dr. Algernon C. Edwards, and that original creators Jack Amiel and Michael Begler have written a pilot episode” - via The Knick’s Wikipedia page

PonderThis 3 points 2 years ago.

I hope it comes to fruition because it is a good drama and not many medical dramas have been made during this time period. It is interesting to see how medical procedures were done and how some procedures were developed. I had no idea that cocaine was once used in liquid form.

Midsomer Murders (1998) S11 E4
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

Once again I thought I recognized someone and sure enough I do. MyAnna Buring is in this episode and has a bit part. You may know her from the drama Ripper Street, The Witcher and Downton Abbey.

L'Art du crime (2017)
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I really don’t like to watch anything with subtitles but I just might have to give this drama a try. It sounds interesting.

Child 44 (2015)

WOW! Another movie with one of my favorite actors, Tom Hardy! I seemed to not know about this movie and it too is going on my watch list!

Mr. Jones (2019)

I have always been fascinated with James Norton. Not sure how I missed this movie and it’s going on my watch list ASAP.

War of the Worlds (2019)

It has been renewed for 2022 which I’m very glad about and can’t wait!

Midsomer Murders (1998) S10 E3
bevnick 1 points 4 years ago.

Holy Cow, a young(er) Sam Heughan plays Ian King in this episode. Nice surprise.

PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I was just about to post the same kind comment! A very young Sam indeed and my how he has grown up over the past 14 years!

The Artist (2012)
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

I’m not sure if I want to watch this movie but it is about an interesting time in Hollywood and movies were on the cusp of becoming “talkies” which had some stars on edge. This movie has a stellar cast and even though it’s in black/white, I’ll put it at the bottom of my list to watch.

The Pursuit of Love (2021)
etim 3 points 3 years ago.

The 1st ep was surprisingly enjoyable enough, guess I’ll watch some more considering it’s only 3 eps long. James and Beecham are still gorgeous but getting to look a little too old to be playing teens.

PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

I shall always remember James in Downton Abby and I wasn’t that impressed with her but she has improved her acting skills. And yes, she is getting to old to be playing the teen/young 20 something.

Gunpowder Milkshake (2021)
Kid Kryptonite 5 points 2 years ago.

I love a good shoot em up film with great cast!!

PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

I had just typed the title in the search box when I saw your posting. I had watched the trailer and was checking to see if it had been uploaded here on pw. I shall be watching this later in the day. I, too, see a sequel on the horizon! No more damsels in distress movies cause we women can take care of ourselves…..😉😁

Midsomer Murders (1998) S6 E2
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

If you’re a fan of Foyles War, you know that Honeysuckle Weeks is a main character. Well in this episode I thought that the character Hannah Moore looked like Honeysuckle but the actress was a bit younger. Low and behold it’s Honeysuckles younger sister Perdita Weeks. As I’ve said before, you never know who is going to pop up on this drama.

Midsomer Murders (1998) S6 E1
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

You never know who is going to pop up in Midsomer Murders! In this episode it’s Honor Blackman better known to some as Pussy Galore in the Bond movie Goldfinger.

Midsomer Murders (1998) S4 E1
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

Daniel Bolt is played by Neil Dudgeon in this episode. Eleven years later he is John Barnaby, the new DCI and a relative of John Barnaby (who has retired).

Bosch (2015) S7 E1
PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

For those of you who are Titus Welliver fans, he is in another drama titled “Nova Vita about a wealthy entrepreneur and he must face his corrupt business partner and a sinister organization in order to get his life back.” But no one has uploaded it to primewire and I don’t know if it’s been released yet. Something to look forward to while waiting for the “Bosch” spinoff.

PonderThis 2 points 2 years ago.

I agree and I stopped watching after 20 minutes!

A Quiet Place Part II (2021)
PonderThis 3 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I predict A Quiet Place Part III since it ended the way it did. I agree with you Kid Kryptonite, we need to know where they came from! Are the alien life forms? Unlike The Silence, we know where those creatures came from. Maybe a part III will answer those questions and wrap it up and be the end of it. No need to drag it out for 2 more sequels!

Lupin (2021)
PonderThis 6 points 2 years ago.

I was hesitant to watch Lupin because I’m not fond of movies/tv shows with subtitles. I took the plunge and I really like this little drama. I shall continue on and do some binge watching this weekend. I know I won’t make it into season 2 though.

Vienna Blood (2019)
PonderThis 3 points 2 years ago.

IMDb says there are 3 episodes in 2021, Darkness Rising and The Devil’s Kiss, and Melancholy Countess. This is what I found, “Production on Season Two of Vienna Blood will begin in August 2020, shooting on location in Vienna in English, and once again starring Matthew Beard as Max Liebermann, and Juergen Maurer as Detective Inspector Oskar Rheinhardt. A premiere date for season two of the Vienna Blood series was not revealed.” A deep……I can’t wait……sigh goes here!

Cracker (1993) S3 E4
PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

I must have a good eye for spotting actors when they’re young! I kept thinking that “Bill” looked very familiar and the actor is 25 years old. It is none other than John Simm! I’ve only seen him in dramas when he was in his early 40’s to his present age. I live in the US and haven’t had the opportunity to watch British shows until I discovered primewire a few years ago. Therefore, I’m watching a lot of crime drama’s from the mid 1990’s and I’ve enjoyed many of them!

Unsolved Mysteries (1988) S1 E1
paul40au 4 points 2 years ago.

i forgot how these shows draw the viewer in. intriguing

PonderThis 1 points 2 years ago.

And you never realize that some future movies stars would start out their career in acting by being on Unsolved Mysteries. Who is the person? None other than Matthew McConaughey. I don’t remember which season or episode though.
