Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E4
sasqua 1 points 2 years ago.

It is a good addition to the Star Trek franchise… but to say it is the “greatest Trek” is just trolling. It might be the best to YOU, but, each series is gonna resonate with different folks, based on many factors, like where they are in their own life, etc. I have been a Trekkie a long time — lucky enough to watch all of the series as they came out… for me there have been better than this.

sobitthen 2 points 2 years ago*.

There were many in between here and only a few were tolerable to me, the one with Archer, and most with Janeway, they progressively have gotten better.. Picard too.. so I will stand by my statement..

Hawkeye (2021) S1 E4
Laura-GCHQ 4 points 2 years ago.

You’re under the assumption that Hawkeye knows she’s Natasha’s sister. He knows about the red room and the Black Widows program, so he can identity an assassin sent by them, however he can’t just stop in the middle of being attacked to ask “Hey there, so who are you and why the hell have you been sent to take me out”, for all he cares at that point is to not get killed and he’s probably thinking someone has sent a BW Assassin after him because they finally figured out he was Ronan

sobitthen 0 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Yes, I assume since they were such good friends she would have discussed this with him, that she met with ‘sister’ and events around that whole BW movie.. that is what caught me off-guard. I guess the triple agent who recruited her in post credits kept her on dark side, countess of Leviathan, and that is all he thinks of her. She must have had her own story we have yet to see. I blame Kramer…

Hawkeye (2021) S1 E4
Laura-GCHQ 3 points 2 years ago.

Go watch the Black Widow movie, especially the end credit scenes, then it’ll make sense to you. This is not an alternate universe and by the way, Natasha Romanov’s make believe sister and family actually did care a lot about her, they loved each other in their own crazy way, hence the reason why she has attacked Hawkeye. She’s been told it was him who killed Natasha.

sobitthen 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Yeah, watched it twice.. guess both characters have it wrong then.. as she did it to save people, BW losing grip on Hawk, and can see sister blaming as 2 Avengers enter, 1 leaves.. Just didn’t catch why he thought she was assassin, as that BW movie was before she fell for infinity stone and would think he would know about the whole pseudo family thing and BW trusting her.. He could have shouted, ‘she let go’…

Hawkeye (2021) S1 E4
Yellowbeard 3 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

There was dozens of black widow assassins in the “red room” in the black widow movie (https://www.primewire.li/movie/1337820-watch-black-widow), which is set between Civil War and Infinity War - Natasha be dead in that universe alright.

sobitthen 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Well since they are calling her pretend sister one of the assassins, are we in an alternate realm in this series?

Hawkeye (2021) S1 E4
sobitthen 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Wonder why he called her the ‘Black Widow Assassin’?
Wasn’t that her make-believe sister?
And she, BW, let herself fall to get the infinity stone, correct?…

Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E3
v8nlw 5 points 2 years ago.

I think this was misnamed, it really should be called Star Trek Burnham. I watch this only because this is where the franchise has landed. Very PC. The crew spend too much time being in touch with their respective sensitive sides. Dare I say it but like a lot of these great old stories it has been usurped in the usual way which I don’t need to spell out. Come back Jim, Spock and Bones :)
Overall it is a good watch as it is high budget and the special effects are solid.
I’m looking forward to the next completely new iteration of Star Trek.

sobitthen 2 points 2 years ago.

I blame this more on writers, they are adding extra helping of drama to everything on TV lately, there is no way to avoid it.. but there is far more to love than hate about this show, and still consider it the best Trek yet..

Star Trek: Discovery (2017) S4 E2
RainbowJingle 12 points 2 years ago.

2.5/5 I know this will sound negative, but for me this episode was over-saturated with the crews emotions, their emotional responses and processing their emotions with each other.
This has its place, but almost every character was processing emotionally at the expense of pace, narrative and as a result the tone suffered.
I’ve enjoyed watching this series so far, but I can’t see how the show is going to warrant decades of rewatches as per 90s Berman era Trek.

sobitthen 8 points 2 years ago.

It is aligned with the current trend to add as much drama as possible into everything they broadcast to us…

WOW….what a deeply evolving and enlightening episode. So many avenues being taken. But the one Jamie is about to tackle is going to be a hard pill to swallow now that he’s aware that his own dad might be behind the murder attempt on the Dutton family. Will Jamie confront his biological father, or, show continued loyalty to the Dutton Family? Will Jamie tell John and Cayce his discovery? Looking forward to watching Beth take the Equities Group down from the inside.

Squidbillies (2005) S13 E1

Everyone is upset Tracy can’t do the ‘stupid redneck’ voice of Early and that voice sort of made the show. Just hearing that voice was part of the appeal as you knew from its tone something stupid was going to happen.. Guess one day people will learn certain thoughts should just stay in one’s own head instead of social media if they intend to work in the public’s eye… The show’s ‘appeal’ is over, final season is fitting..

I lasted only 12 minutes…A british serial killer, comedy, does not make sense….And I have a hard time understanding their accent…They talk too fast..NOT FOR ME….!!!!!!!!

sobitthen 5 points 2 years ago.

I saw nothing that would make me think this was a comedy.. they were trying levity to remove tension from job is closest I could see to any humor in this episode. i must watch enough british content as had no issues understanding anything that was spoken..
