I see a Werewolf, I know I have to watch. For better or for worse..

Just saw an NPR review of this claiming “It’s too much like The Daily Show” as were that some kind of negative.
That alone was reason to log in and actually look for this.
It’s not a remake. It’s the same time frame, focusing on entirely different characters, being able to tell the stories and events from the late 60s that the original could not touch on for fear of upsetting certain people. Fred Savage directs and produces it, hence it even retains the same feel. It’s Wonder Years adjacent, if you will.
Those CGI wolves remind me of some CGI from 90s shows like Xena, and Hercules.
If that’s the look they’re trying for in 2021, well - it’s a bold move.
Good show so far, the one thing that really pisses me of theses days is how they don’t subtitle shows anymore, long conversations in Spanish, Chinese, Klingon,(important plot changing shit) and I’m just suppose to know what the f#ck their saying?
throw Me a freaking bone!
Not bad at all - has the feel of the original, which probably happened because Fred Savage is the director this time around.
How the heck did Fury entrust Hill with “the Beeper” . He would have given it to Coulson way before Hill. But Coulson wouldn’t recognise Frigga as the solution, so it was good for the story.
After how morbid and super dark an earlier episode went, this was a nice change up.
Simply dreadful. The kind of production one would expect to see current Nicolas Cage in.
2 He-Man cartoons released close to each other and each on NF, makes no sense…
Netflix most likely will only renew one of them. Both had been greenlight from different production houses at almost the same time, so I guess Netflix is honoring their commitment.
Kevin Smith’s version is far superior to this one though.
Looks like the PW pre-cogs have voted it a winner before the first episode has even been aired - it may suggest that the virtue signalling force is strong in this one.
Having said that, the many varied takes on this sci-fi end-of-the-world theme has created some wonderful cinema in the past (as other comments have referenced) and I’d add On The Beach, The Quiet Earth and Omega Man to the list.
It’s like any film or series based on a comic book series - it’ll have it’s fan base before it even airs. Hell, same applies for novels too. People were already claiming Lord Of The Rings a success (which it was) prior to the first film’s release, and it’s the same thing here. A fan base already exists, as the book is about 20 years old. Y: The Last Man is from DC Comics adult inprint line Vertigo.
Love all the jurassic Park movies. The dinosaurs look so real..
Yeah, the first one especially, as it had a mix of CGI and practical effects that led to the effects holding up since 1993 - and looked superior to all the sequels even
Very good yet bittersweeet, knowing this is the last performance of Chadwick Boseman
Nope they do not need the marvel people, they just need to hire the WB animated series people for the WB live action stuff as well. Honestly i feel the marvel movies other then deadpool and old man logan are made for children.
What they needed, is what they and Marvel did. Get people who know the comics to direct, and then not have the studio / parent company (WB, or Disney respectively) mess about with the director’s vision - as what happened to both Snyder and Ayer, where half of their films were left on the cutting room floor in an attempt to tailor it for the masses.
Is it that we have went without new movies so long? Or is everyones taste in movies really this off? Well to each his or her own i suppose. That was just awful. senseless blood and gore. comedy horror action. Not even B rate D rate maybe.Just my opinion. Dont let the kids watch it.
Why would you even mention kids and this? It’s a rated R film. It’s not marketed to children in the first place.
Easily in the top 5 of DC Comics based films, of all time. This is what happens when a studio does not micromanage and incessantly force changes on to a director’s project. The Suicide Squad is every bit as hilarious and insane, as the comics of the 5th volume. For fans of the books that really hated the first live action offering (butchered by WB as it was), this is the one we wanted the first go around.
Absolutely brilliant. Not something one can often say about German films, but this was just bloody fantastic.
He’s in every episode regardless. Original show was “He-Man AND the Masters Of The Universe. This was “Masters of the Universe”. It’s really obvious it would focus on giving some character to the other figures, flesh out the story that was once nothing more than a 20 minute commercial starring a half naked muscle man who loved lavender and pink tights. Why people are desperate for it to remain the same, well, only they can answer that.
It’s not called “He-Man”, now is it? The show is called “Masters Of The Universe”.
That’s the collective name for the team. If it were named He-Man, you’d have an argument.
Man, that was one of the best episodes of Chicago PD I’ve ever seen. High tension-filled and on the edge of my seat. The only thing I didn’t like is it got me thinking. Entertainment and thinking? No! Not cool, man.
I remember Watching as the episodes came out & Making Sure I was home To watch every Episode, its awesome & I saw a link for Falling Skies, both this Series & Falling Skies are both awesome series’s
terrible sequel with some amazing guns (never knew an ak 47 could hold so much ammo) -dont know what the they were thinking making this -it has nothing acting wise on the first one -put brain in neutral and dont think for 1hour 30 aha
This statement holds true for all the Rambo films after First Blood. Just mindless cash grabs that cashes in on the jingoistic propaganda the nation is known for.
Good news for fans of tthis fantastic series!
“Warrior Renewed for Season 3; Former Cinemax Series Moving to HBO Max. Warrior is still alive and kicking. The martial arts drama, which aired its first two seasons on Cinemax, is relocating to HBO Max for Season 3”.
It’s streaming on HBO Max, and was a hit there after moving from it’s home - so… yeah, we’ll get s. 3 :P
The intel dude? :)
Has he been genetically infused with the DNA of Redwing by the Serpent Society in the Marvel cinematic universe, as well?
Nah, not even Sam has powers in the MCU, unlike the comics. He’ll be gifted that Redwing drone thing :P
Son of a! What’s in the suitcase?!
It’s going to be the Captain America suit from Sam Wilson’s run as Captain America in the comics, complete with wings. Joaquin Torres, becomes his “Falcon”. Bet.
What is Dwayne Johnson up to here? Does he have a secret agenda?
Is he running some kind of shadow campaign? 🙄
If so, it is easily the most entertaining presidential campaign =)
It is possible he’s testing the waters, so to speak. Gauging reactions. I would not put it past anyone, considering US elections are clearly more about popularity than the issues.
It’s… aggressively mediocre 🙁
Maybe I had too much hype for it, but good gods below, they could have completely removed entire swathes of the film, pretty much 90% of the scenes that do not feature the Kaiju - and the story would have remained intact. It draaaags on without the 20 story tall protagonists.
Hell, Kyle Chandler spent all his scenes looking like he did not know they were rolling.
How many Pele movies do we need? There’s already a good one called “Pelé: Birth of a Legend” Netflix should stop ruining movies and start making original concepts. They ruined many but the ones that pisses me off is this after death note.
I dont know if I should watch this show or wait for the next one where Louis and Clark are grandparents dealing with all the stress, pressures and complexities that come with being boomers in today’s society.
Dinkle raises a good point. If you don’t like the formulaic other DC shows on CW, this is the breath of fresh air that deviates considerably from the norm of their productions
Everyone (including me) hopes/thinks/prays this will be an awesome series that it already has 4 stars and it hasn’t even aired yet. lol
Seeing as how I really liked Anson Mount’s Captain Pike in Star Trek Discovery, I’m expecting this to be awesome =)
I generally can’t watch anything the CW produces, but this Superman thing is pretty good so far. I’ve only seen the first 2 episodes, but I would say it’s better than any of the last several Hollywood film releases since “Superman Returns”. This Clark is more reminiscent of Christopher Reeves’ version, which I’ve always preferred over any of the others, including Henry Cavill’s version who seemed to me like a Superman with a lot of underlying issues. Hopefully it doesn’t go full-blown SJW / teen drama like a lot of the other CW offerings have but we’ll see.
You’ll notice it does not adhere to the standard DC on CW blueprint. No attractive nerd in the chair and on comms, telling the hero what to do while providing light comedy.
Whelp. Could not finish. Yeeesh this one is bad
