This was rather dreary, gray and dark most of the time. Few likeable characters but overall the majority of the time, it was very depressing! I just felt disappointed. Good for a one time watch I suppose. There was some good costumes and scenery.

You hit the nail on the head. This series seems to me like a salacious, lowbrow version of a period piece. And Cynthia Nixon’s character made me very angry.
Could not agree more! I had such a fanboy crush on Jenny Agutter back then.
Have you seen her in Walkabout ( https://www.primewire.ag/movie/148894-watch-walkabout )? She was 18 or 19. Fantastic film, and she is just radiant.
The UK version of this show is hilarious. Another show Murica tried to Americanize and completely ruined
Yeah, this was around the same time that MTV made a Stepford version of the UK’s outstanding series “Skins” and flubbed that as well.
I think this may be the best and pants-peeingly hilarious episode of AP Bio that could ever exist.
Good show… Not sure why the “TVMaze” (whatever tf that is) rating for it up there is so low.
Ken Marino and Molly Shannon kill it as usual, but the rest are great too. Brooke is hilarious.
I think that the TV Maze site is inhabited by many purplish subterranean troglodytes…not sure why PW uses the TV Maze rating instead of the IMDB rating.
I love the ones where they talk about movies/actors, as well!
I’m just astounded at how Jordan Peele’s career has expanded since this show. What a great writer and director! Key’s doing alright with the TV stuff, too, and still hilarious, but he hasn’t really branched out at all, IMO.
I can’t wait for “Nope,” Peele’s next film.
I think Peele is a tour de force as well, but I have to say, I haven’t loved any of his latest films as much as I loved “Get Out”. He started a whole new genre with that film that others have been building off of (Them, Lovecraft Country). Key actually was just in that new series “Schmigadoon”, which was OK. He is really more of just an actor rather than a creator, I guess.
The awesome Hitler story with that dude from “Modern Family” is one that comes to mind, but there are just so many, lol. Obama’s anger translator is pretty good, too. HBU?
Right now , I’d have to say: 1) any Meegan and Andre skit (esp. the one where Meegan is trying to find Andre in a dark movie theater and keeps yelling his name (season 4, ep 11) 2) the 80s aerobics to music sketch (season 4, ep 9) 3) all the ones where they are standing in front of places they work and talking about movies and actors (“Val-y Kilmers is my jams!”) Oh, so many good ones…
I love this damned show, and now I love my Canadian neighbors even more than before. :D
So I watched this series once all the way through. The second time I went through it, I did it with the captions on, and it was so much funnier…there were a million jokes, bits of wordplay, and slang terms I hadn’t caught with the captions off. I highly recommend it.
Dear god, these guys are funny. I’d say this show is tied with Mitchell & Webb (whichever incarnation) for best sketch comedy show of the 21st century.
Key & Peele…is…my…JAAAAAAAAAAMMMMMM!!
Do you have a favorite sketch?
Such a kitsch-y film. It’s so dated, but that makes it so fun to watch.
True. I also thought he would turn out to be bantr guy…but that’s what comes from being an ol’ romantic!
he finally broke
Yes…but we knew he was going to. The whole season set him up for either a headbutt with or a submission to the new psychologist.
Wow, that Song Short they did in this episode was their best and most effective one yet! Next season needs to come in an awful hurry!…and oh god, I hope people don’t take a cue from this show and start their own kangaroo courts…
watched 2 eps. what a derivative snorefest and a waste of a great cast. and yes I too am tired of looking at NKs plastic, filler and botox.
Yes, I snored through the 1st ep, but I attempted it since I usually like 50% of the many shows David E. Kelley creates…and I got my fill of NK’s unemotive face in The Undoing.
yeah, but she can no longer join her lips. That’s why she emits a lot of those “ffffh” sounds of air blowing through her forever gaping mouth, like a Piranah fish
not sure why you guys are being downvoted…maybe you’re destroying some folks’ illusions that Kidman’s face is real!
wtf is happening here? I don’t watch this show for absurdity. Now Wanda Sykes?
She’s already coming off like she has bats in her belfry. I hope things change.
Wackner has to go!
This show has always been firmly entrenched in the business of showing in full color the absolute absurdity and arbitrariness of the law and its practice in America, and this season is the paramount of all the legal lunacy leading up to it. Just enjoy the ride.
Short Lived, but I consider it to be almost a cult classic.
Fun fact: one of the reasons the show got cancelled is because its teen actors were having too much fun on-set and off - i.e. drugs and sex.
Such a great story I’m in love with juno temples work
love her too…if you haven’t yet, you must see “Magic Magic” from 2013. She and Michael Cera give amazing performances … he plays her psychological tormenter!
Wow—that ending! Glad it is confirmed to be back for Season 2.
Yep, can’t wait to see my new favorite master self-saboteur back in the saddle when it returns.
Warning for those who are so inclined: There is a fair amount of animal slaughter in this.
Gregg Araki’s worst and cheesiest film. Watch Doom Generation or Nowhere instead.
Ehh… Glad I watched, but I feel like after Irreversible (his career apex), each of Noe’s movies has been a stop on a downward trajectory
A timely documentary that details the repercussions for giving an entire industry blanket immunity for products that, according to the U.S. Supreme Court, are “unavoidably unsafe”. Big pharma has no incentive for creating safer products and it is our children that have paid the price. Would recommend, regardless of where you stand on this divisive issue.
Sounds good. It is intelligent to gather as much information and do as much research as possible on both sides of an issue before doing something that vested interests who could care less about you or your family’s well-being tell you that you should do. It is truly ignorance to assume that the governments (under any leader), the media, and massive billion-dollar pharmaceutical companies are looking out for your health and longevity.
Yeah, Woodstock ‘94 was exhilarating; Woodstock ‘99 was a travesty.
It was just a remake of a the much better spanish version and did nothing to further the story and was nothing but a promo piece for Cruise. Go watch the spanish version and tell me this one was needed to be made
this is how you can differentiate one who truly loves film from one who just watches movies.
There weren’t a lot of prime time animated series during the 60s and 70s, only about a dozen in all. Some were hits (The Flintstones, The Jetsons, Rocky and Bullwinkle, Mr. Magoo, Alvin and the Chipmunks), some were moved out of prime time and found their audience on Saturday morning (Bugs Bunny, Top Cat), and some of those are largely overlooked or forgotten (Calvin and the Colonel, Jokebook, Where’s Huddles?). Wait Till Your Father Gets Home was the only syndicated prime time animated series to achieve any sort of popularity and was only one of 3 animated series to last more than 1 season in prime time prior to 1990; The Flintstones and The Bugs Bunny Show were the other 2.
The only ones I can think of right now are the Flintstones and the Jetsons. Let me think about it for a bit. I didn’t have cable growing up so there wasn’t much to choose from
Yeah, I know those, I guess I thought you meant some less known ones from that time.
I’m not sure if you are joking but yes I can
No I am not joking, I love shows from the 70s and I liked this one a lot and if there are similar ones, I’d love to look for them, so please do recommend some
All I am concern with is….CLIVE OWEN going to be in it, and when will it be aired?
No, there is no way he could be in it as you know if you watched it…it will be focused on Dr. Thackeray’s African-American assistant, Dr. Algernon C. Edwards who is played by André Holland. The new series will be co-directed by Barry Jenkins, who just did “The Underground Railroad”, and Steven Soderbergh will produce again. I can’t wait. As far as when, it’s in development, and a pilot episode has been written.
Back in the day many cartoons were geared towards adult audiences. This was one of them. Bugs bunny was also an adult cartoon
so can you recommend some other prime-time adult cartoons from the 70s that I can look for? Besides Looney Tunes and Fritz the Cat, I mean?
Why this is categorized Adult is a mystery to me ?
I don’t know why…but it’s nice to see that someone else besides me is watching this!
“In September 2020, Soderbergh confirmed that a new season of The Knick is in development led by Barry Jenkins and André Holland, who would return as his character Dr. Algernon C. Edwards, and that original creators Jack Amiel and Michael Begler have written a pilot episode” - via The Knick’s Wikipedia page
Wow ,interesting SK romance …never knew he did those. Very imaginative, its one of the main challenges of bringing his work to life, translating his words onto film. Stephen Kings stories get way past reality and logic and get pretty out there to the point, directors wouldn’t even try to do movie adaptation. I liked it , I think it was a strange and beautiful tale. The cinematography was beautiful! Those fall colors were so gorgeous the way they played off Julianne Moore’s red hair and fair skin tone and of course the house and town they used that looks like it was located in Maine, his favorite town. I loved seeing Michael Pitt, he’s so talented and so underrated. The cast was amazing! Very well done. thanks 4 links. Happy Watching!
Michael Pitt is great. You just reminded me to re-watch the first 2 seasons of Boardwalk Empire - he played his character so well in that.
The best parts of this film were watching the lead character suffer
Why can’t they just stick to legal issues and not try and be cute? The partner’s BF trying to have sex with her while she’s on the phone during a crisis. The investigator has a ghost who watches him sleep. A rogue courtroom where witnesses wear a bee costume so the fake jury can’t tell their economic status. And that was just this episode.
Then it would purely be a procedural. Let them splash out a little bit.
Man, I love this show! Hectic, chaotic, but so smooth.
Sounds like it would go well with some Green Chartreuse Liqueur.
Despite what some jokers who haven’t watched it may say, this movie was great. It was entertaining, and it had heart. With the sorry state of films nowadays, that is fairly high praise.
Since the actual vote at the Continental Congress for the United State to be free and independent ocurred 245 years ago today I thought I might this binge this awesome series again.
This is an outstanding and eminently watchable miniseries, and so well-acted. If I remember correctly, the fellow who played Stannis Baratheon on GOT plays Thomas Jefferson.
A good film about a ditzy, negligent “mother” and her hell-spawn.
I absolutely agree with you 100%! I almost turned it off several times but I just had to see if my fave characters finally got some justice. I kept saying to myself, this is bloody awful. Cynthia’s character was horrid and evil. We are on the same page snazzy d.
I always have to hold out for justice as well.
