Naked Lunch (1992)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Oddly enough? This very odd, very strange movie makes more sense than the damn book written by Burroughs! LOL (Man, I read that novel back in the 90ies and it gave me a headache even though it is considered a seminal piece of work by the author)

Zoo (2015)
Arcangel2020 1 points 8 months ago.

“Jackson Oz is a young, renegade American zoologist”…renegade Zoologist..LOL

Flash Gordon (1980)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Such a classic 1980ies era Sci Fi movie!
Sure the acting is campy by today’s modern standards…but I mean come ON! You have Max Von Sydow (RIP) playing a terrific Ming The Merciless, Sam Jones as Flash Gordon, Melody Anderson as Dale..plus some 80ies era hot looking European actresses and pretty cool special effects too. But the really GREAT thing about this movie? The soundtrack performed and scored by the rock band “Queen”.

The Book of Boba Fett (2021) S1 E3
Bloody El 3 points 2 years ago.

woo Hoo! Space Vespas and Chocolate Wookies!

Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

“Chocolate Wookie”…lol

Breathe (2024)
Arcangel2020 1 points 28 days ago.

Don’t hold your breath when it comes to hoping that this (and I use the word loosely here) “movie” is going to be any good. “Breathe” is a dumpster fire that will suck the IQ & Oxygen Level out of the room. LOL

Cocaine Cougar (2023)
michaelmyers 0 points 7 months ago.

what next cocain shark ? lol ha ha

Arcangel2020 1 points 7 months ago.

We need,,nay,,DEMAND..”Sharknado: Cocaine Sharks” a new high in terror! LOL

No Ordinary Family (2010)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really liked this show, a shame that it ONLY ran for one season. It had a lot of potential to be a terrific series.

A Hitman in London (2015)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Michael Madsen? Eric Roberts? Mickey Rourke? This has Cheese written all over IT! LOL

The Blues Brothers (1980)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Such a classic movie on SO many levels. Pure comedic Gold! So many memorable lines to quote and the musician cameos and the soundtrack throughout the movie are great! This movie (along with the classic “Young Frankenstein”) ALWAYS makes laugh uproariously every.single.time I watch it.

The Bear (2022)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 months ago.

Another terrific series on The FX Network. Love the storyline and backstory/flash backs involving the main Character Carmen “Bear” Brazzato & his family and a terrific cast as well. It took me a few episodes of the first season to NOT see Jeremy Allen White as “Lip’ from the (American version) series “Shameless”.
Highly recommend watching this one.

Highlander (1992)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

There can only BE one!

The Sandman (2022)
Arcangel2020 1 points 1 year ago.

This is an excellent series! Really enjoyed watching all 10 episodes. I never read “The Sandman” Graphic novel or comics back in the 90ies era, but everyone I knew/know who did? Raved about how excellent it was…so, when it came time to watch this show? I didn’t really know a lot about the character or the premise/storyline.
Looking forward to a season 2

Mutiny (1999)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This was another tragic Naval incident that took place during WWII and I believe it took place at the Concord Weapons Depot in Concord, CA which is located in The SF Bay Area. I remember passing by that installation as a little kid on the way up to the Russian River area and thinking how cool the weapons bunkers all looked from the outside while driving by

Hellbound: Hellraiser II (1988)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This is my favorite film of the “Hellraiser” franchise. After this one? The entire franchise just turned to rubbish…imho.

Shoresy (2022)

Have you tried this? https://www.primewire.tf/tv/201075-letterkenny (very funny)
On a more serious note https://www.primewire.tf/tv/46500-19-2
They both star Jared Keeso

Thanks for the sugestions

WandaVision (2021)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I liked this limited run series. It’s a “slow burn” but highly recommend you stick with it until the end and especially watch everything that happens in the last episode (there are Bumpers at the end that may led to both Captain Marvel 2 and Dr Strange 2)

Cherry (2021)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Another terrific movie from the Russo Brothers AND actor Tom Holland.

Mea Culpa (2024)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 months ago.

Guessing that somehow, some way..Taraji P. Henson either passed on this one or somehow, some way wasn’t available to do it? LOL

Army of Thieves (2021)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

I liked this prequel to “Army of the Dead”. The storyline details the backstory of Dieter Ludwig before he became part of the crew in “Army of the Dead”. I liked the characters, the premise, the humor and how everything unfolded right up to the end. Definitely worth a watch…and yeah..this is definitely NOT a horror movie (although it does mention a few times that the Zombie Apocalypse is happening, but this story takes places right at the beginning and that’s basically it)

Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (2025)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 months ago.

It will be interesting to see who Keven Fegie and Marvel Studios will recast as Kang, now that Slappy Smith is out of the picture..literally.

The Stand (2020) S1 E1
Zenz-XIII 3 points 3 years ago.

Is it a sequal or a remake? Should I watch the old/previous one?

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

It is a remake/re-boot.
Yeah, definitely watch the older version so you can compare the two and see how different this one is compared to the older one (which I think basically follows the Stephen King novel more closely than what I’ve seen with the first episode of this one)

Ahsoka (2023)
Arcangel2020 1 points 8 months ago.

I like the series so far, I think it’s pretty good. I like, how Favreau & Filoni had managed to include some of the Star Wars EU stuff in the storylines of both The Mandalorian & Ahsoka thereby erasing the mistakes that Kathleen Kennedy has done to the Star Wars universe. In fact, they should fire her and replace her with Jon Favreau as head of all things Star Wars/Lucas Films.

The Little Mermaid (1989)
Arcangel2020 1 points 4 months ago.

Total Disney Animation Classic from the late 80ies era. This was one of several (Aladdin, The Lion King) that became instant classics.
Btw, if you are lucky enough to STILL have an original copy of the VHS Video tape of this movie? It is worth a MINT! Disney Studios had a falling out with one of the animators for this movie and as “payback”? Said animator paid Disney Studios back by including in the artwork on the VHS video cassette cover release a Phallic symbol for one of the towers in the background..which you can totally see once you know where to look..LOL. It was a MAJOR “scandal” back in the early 90ies.

RapCaviar Presents (2023)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 months ago.

“RapCaviar”….I just can’t stop laughing at that title

Silo (2023)
Piglet 3 points 1 year ago*.

If anyone remembers, Common was in the drama Hell on Wheels with Anson Mount (who is in Star Trek Strange New Worlds). So, Common going from the mid 1800’s to far into the future. Watched the trailer and looks promising. But first I’m going to listen to my college alma mater baseball game.

Arcangel2020 1 points 9 months ago.

Common was also in the movie “Smokin’ Aces” (which I really like/liked) and the Terminator movie with Christian Bales (which I thought was actually fairly good in the Terminator franchise)

Tyler Perry's Ruthless (2020)
SpecialEFX 8 points 3 years ago*.

Tyler Perry’s writing is absolute shite. Everything I’ve seen so far seems like a “film school” experiment. How TF is this man so successful when his shows are such crap? Case in point the abysmal Too Close To Home. Clearly his demographic audience can’t be this gullible. Madea may have put him on the map but since creating his own studio and production company he’s proven it’s quantity over quality and it shows.

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Everything you wrote is spot on and I agree 100%.
Although I did happen to like the movie “Alex Cross” that came out several years ago…it was a failed attempt to re-start/re-boot the Alex Cross franchise which Morgan Freeman was in and played an older version of Detective Cross back in the 90ies era

I, Robot (2004)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Do yourself a favor…read the classic Sci-Fi novel “I, Robot” by Isaac Asimov instead of watching this trash pile of a film. Just like with “World War Z”, this one is basically them same thing…in name only and nothing like the novel. I bet Asimov was rolling in his grave when this crap was released in the theater

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty (2013)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

A fun movie to watch. I really liked both the storyline and actor Ben Stiller in this movie.

Ring (1995)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Terrific Japanese Horror film. I like this one as well as the American remake (which has actress Naomi Watts)

Dracula (2020)
Dread Pirate Robert 1 points 4 years ago.

Ah, nice one. I didn’t realise they’d released the movie yet. Thanks.

Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Have you watched the “Breaking Bad” prequel series “Better Call Saul”? It’s excellent.

The Lost World (1999)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This was a really “cheesy bad-it’s good” series from the end of the 90ies era.

Johnny Mnemonic (1995)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

This movie is SO bad it’s good…lol. Keeanu Reeves stars in this one pre-Matrix Trilogy

Nowhere Man (1995)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

I remember this series and back when it debuted on the UPN Network. It along with Star Trek: Voyager and several others were the “Flagship” shows of the (then) new network. I thought it was a really good show and it totally reminded me of older shows like “The Prisoner” (which I watched the repeats as a kid on a local PBS station), Dark Skies and several others as well.
I thought it was unfortunate that it ended after just one season.

Spaceballs (1987)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Not my favorite Mel Brooks movie (Blazing Saddles, Young Frankenstein and History of The World are what I like to call the “Holy Trinity of Comedic Movies by Mel Brooks”…but still a pretty hysterically funny take off on the “Star Wars” movies and Sci-Fi

William S. Burroughs: A Man Within (2010)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

I read a few of Burrough’s novels back in the 90ies…”Naked Lunch” and “Junkie”, because a few friends I knew were into the Beat Author scene. Man, both novels wee difficult reads…I later found out that Burrough’s wrote his novels while high on Heroin and he was a lifelong Heroin addict. Funny thing, the movie “Naked Lunch” based on his novel was actually a bizzare movie to watch and it made more sense than the book…if I recall.

Forever Knight (1992)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really enjoyed this series back when it was on the USA Network. I thought it was quite well done…well, the first two seasons. It’s unfortunate how the third season was mishandled towards the end. This preceded the Highlander tv series, so the backstory/memories from historical periods in time were better done imho.
I seem to recall that CBS tried to do a similar series several years back with a Police Detective as a Vampire character and it was gawd awful/unwatchable too.

A Wrinkle in Time (2018)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Absolute garbage of a movie.
I remember back when Marvel Studios was searching for a Director to do the movie “Black Panther” and Ava DuVernay was strongly being considered to direct that movie. I also remember reading how she felt it was “beneath her standards” to do a Marvel comic book film” and so she passed on the project…thankfully. And thankfully Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios went with a MUCH better director to make that movie

S.O.Z. Soldados o Zombies (2021) S1 E8
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

This one was not bad at all, I liked it.
Basically (without giving too much away here) it’s kind of like…”Narcos” meets “Army of the Dead”. It says “To Be Determined”, so I am hoping that Amazon actually gives us a Season 2 and possibly more..especially with how it all ends.

Journey to the Center of the Earth (1960)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Love this Classic! It was one of the movies I watched as a little kid every time it came on TV (usually on a Saturday Afternoon or on a TV show called Creature Features which I would watch on Friday and Saturday nights growing up in the SF Bay Area).

The Mandalorian (2019) S2 E1
expresso 2 points 3 years ago*.

That’s because he was Raylan Givens on Tattooine :) Timothy Olyphant for all your lawman Hollywood needs. Deadwood, Justified, Fargo 2020, and now Mando. I haven’t seen Santa Clara Diet - should I?

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Honestly speaking here? I didn’t really care for Santa Clarita Diet all that much…I stopped after the second or third episode, because I just couldn’t get into it. Don’t get me wrong I really LIKE Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant..but I think the reason I couldn’t get into it? I think I was “suffering” from “Zombie show fatigue” at that point (“Walking Dead”, “Fear The Walking Dead and “Z Nation”). A lot of people loved the show and have suggested that I give it a second shot

Vampires in America (2022)
Arcangel2020 1 points 4 days ago.

Anyone who has watched the movies “Near Dark” and (the really BAD) John Carpenter’s “Vampires” or (cheesy bad) “Dusk til Dawn” is aware of the fact that there is a Vampire problem in the Desert SW area. LOL

The Howling (1981)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

One of my all time favorite Werewolf films. Love this movie! Do yourself a favor…watch this one, but skip the horrible sequels that follow afterwards.

The Longest Yard (1974)
Arcangel2020 1 points 2 years ago.

Terrific 70ies era sports-themed movie starring legendary actor Burt Reynolds. Sure it’s now considered seriously “dated” having been made back in the 70ies, but it’s still a fun movie to watch now and then. Don’t even bother watching the horrible re-make that was made several years ago with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock (I like both actors in a number of others movies they have been in, in the past).

River's Edge (1987)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Terrific 80ies era film with a good cast too.
I grew up in Fremont CA which is not to far away from Milpitas and I remember when the events which are the basis for this movie took place too.

Dark Crimes (2018)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Yet another “film” (i.e. pile of utter CRAP) with Jim Carey that is such utter garbage. Don’t even waste your time on this one, it’s not worth losing the 92 minutes you will never get back in your life if you do.

Quinceañera (2006)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really liked this little Indie film, very well done and the storyline is pretty good too. After having watched the FX Network show “Snowfall” which actress Emily Rios is in, I totally forgot that she (as a young actress) plays the main character in this movie, which I had watched several years ago.

Underworld (2003)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I have just two words to say about this movie….Kate Beckinsdale. Or rather, Kate Beckinsdale as a sexy Vampire wearing a Black Leather outfit.

Get Out (2017)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This movie was WAY overhyped. Was it a fairly decent movie to watch? Sure. Was it a “great” movie? Not even close. Again, decent movie. Worth maybe a watch. But it’s not an incredible movie or a great movie by a ling shot.

The Cabin in the Woods (2012)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Love this movie!
I remember when this movie came out in the theaters…it was playing at the same time as a little ole film called “The Avengers” also came out. Not sure if anyone saw that one…lol

Letterkenny (2016)
Arcangel2020 1 points 1 year ago.

This series is absolutely hysterical! I watched the Spin-off series “Shoresy” first, which was terrific (Hockey, Hot Chicks and Canadian humor galore) and someone mentioned THIS series to watch…it is absolutely freakin’ hysterical! Highly recommend watching this show and once you do? Segue into watching “Shoresy”
