Mildly taken aback, but not so much so at snap judgement on the overall statement this story was conveying against women. {{{sigh}}} Moverall, well done. Men love to speak for women but barely identify with any accuracy (not always) but generally and pathetically accepted as absolute Truth. Hence why mysogeny is so easily tolerated and and moreso, used as a perfect, see thought requirement for blatwnt exercises in this media. Hard pass… HÁRD HÁRD HÁRD pass combined with Run far far away.

I agree, but you do know that Ilana Glazer co-created this movie AND co-wrote this script, right??
Laugh out loud hilarious! nothing like random chaos and destruction seeming like a perfectly logical solution for love.
Brit Marling is brilliant. She creates, writes and stars in her own movies/shows. Triple threat.
And they are actually intelligent stories, with intelligent acting. The East was based on her and Zal’s actual experiences running with freegans and activist kids one summer.
If you like the OA and The East you have to watch Sound of My Voice. It’s a mind trip!
Yes, Good call, I forgot to recommend that one too. Excellent movie as well, though I’m a bigger fan of The East
Agreed. Just happy I decided to give it try
If you like it, you might also like a movie that the creators of OA made awhile back, which also stars Brit Marling, with Alexander Skaarsgard and Ellen Page, called The East.
This show is far funnier than I expected it to be. Good if you’re into PEN15 or Legit.
Good god, Jennifer Jason Leigh destroyed her face for no good reason except vanity. She was so pretty before, even with the aging process these Hollywood actresses are so deathly afraid of. Now her face looks like a crazy mixture of a muppet, the Joker, and a tortoise. That said, this show is enjoyable.
Oh my god, I just remembered it was her dad, Vic Morrow, that got decapitated by the stunt helicopter in the filming of that early 80s Twilight Zone movie! She was only 20 when it happened. In fact, she inherited his resting frown-face. Now I feel kind of bad for slamming her.
Agreed. I’ve watched all 3 seasons that are currently out, and she’s the one person in this show I can’t stand looking at, but that could also stem from me hating her character’s personality and storyline.
This is what happens when you get a 60-year old actress to play the mother of 18 and 16 year old children.
— I mean she gets a few good moments, but they’re obligatory mom moments.
Anissa Weier was sentenced to up to 25 years in a mental institution. I watched a doctor on youtube that said she was the most dangerous of
the 2 girls!
Morgan was diagnosed with Schitzophrenia and sentenced to 40 years
in mental institute. Her father also has Schitzophrenia, it’s genetic.
Both are very sad, regardless. And sad for Payton as well, she will suffer
for many years, if not forever, maybe PTSD.
The whole thing is sad all the way around. Poor little kids. :-(
Yes, I have viewed this doc repeatedly. It is devastating. And from our outside and subjective viewpoint it seems so random.
I am at a loss for words. What these girls did just seems so sick.
I can’t even think of a punishment because on one hand I know
those girls are sick, and on the other hand if I was the parents
of the victim I would probably feel that there is no punishment
good enough for what they did to my child.
but you must be logical also and bear in mind that these are very young girls who may still have the time and capacity for rehabilitation and maybe normal lives. Even the especially f-ed up can come around with the right help, esp. girls, as they have a propensity to be more fluid. There is one such case - look up “Child of Rage” on YouTube. Also, the bestselling author Anne Perry (born Juliet Hulme) helped her friend kill the girl’s mother when she was an adolescent, and now she lives a normal life. Peter Jackson made an excellent film about the incident (one of my favorites) you can see here https://www.primewire.ag/movie/240829-watch-heavenly-creatures It is also Kate Winslet’s first feature.
While this is not my favorite Kubrick film, this is most definitely one of his finest cinematic works. It’s no surprise it won Academy Awards for costume design and cinematography. The camera work alone is worth the watch! Ryan O’Neal’s performance was amazing as well.
you are absolutely right about all of that. this remains my favorite Kubrick film in that every part of it is a masterpiece, and I can view it anytime and in any mood, and be utterly moved and satisfied.
what the heck! I think Jennifer looks fabulous for her age, which is my age. If she’s had plastic surgery it was done well because I can’t tell where she has had it if she’s even had it. I totally don’t see what you see.
holy crap. if you can’t see the difference please google her before and after pictures bc you are in the minority. Yes, she would be a gorgeous woman who looks fabulous for and despite her age, but she ruined that by butchering her poor face, which never needed the work to begin with. These women who get all this work done in a mad attempt to hide the fact that they are aging (a totally normal and beautiful process) don’t seem to understand that this work simply makes them look vain, desperate and insecure. Look at Frances McDormand. She has not had a lick of work done and she exudes confidence, and that’s sexy.

Tyvm for uploading these ! I need my pre-Archer fix.
show is so underrated. More Jon Benjamin: Home Movies, Lucy Daughter of the Devil, Dr. Katz, and 7 episodes of Important Things with Demetri Martin.
Well, kiss Bless the Harts goodbye, those who are fans…it’s been cancelled. A pox on Fox.
I dont know if shes a hero or a villain
she is certainly magnificent ;)
Good show. Vera Farmiga is amazing in everything she’s in, but she was exceptionally formidable as Norma.
Quite funny, In some ways i prefer shows like this, that dont have laugh tracks -so us as the viewer can choose what moments are Funny. Not too familiar with Nasim Pedrads work outside of SNL, But a funny, slice of life, pilot. Cant wait to watch more episodes
It is a hilarious show, hands down. Screw the hating mob. Most of the complaints I read about the show revolve around Chad being played by a woman, and things having to do with the fact that the main character is Middle Eastern - what does that tell you about the people making the complaints?
hilariously non pc i laughed my ass off -british humour unrivalled
if you’re a fan of Jack Whitehall, you will definitely want to try Fresh Meat! https://www.primewire.ag/tv/26520-watch-fresh-meat
Anyone remember those stupid potato chips they came out with in the 90’s? They were like the biggest supermarket ticket item at the time because they had some special chemical in them that made them fat free and calorie free so supermarkets couldn’t keep them on the shelves. There was this craze for these stupid chips….until… it was like this mass exodus of people who came forward complaining that the chips were causing ANAL LEAKAGE of all things. It was huge news at the time because so many people had hoarded these things like it was 2020 and the apocalypse was coming, then all of a sudden there were baby diaper explosions going on all over the country. Anyone else remember this happening? Know the brand of chips?
Her talking about the “leakage issues” she was having reminded me of that story. Not mentioning this to put her down in any way whatsoever, because I do find her pretty brave to even mention something that personal on national tv like that (especially on a channel known to find people like her so they can make fun of them).
yeah it was because of this disgusting additive called olestra.
Well if an audience participant enjoyed the character “Mr Clean” in pulp fiction then they just may like Jean in Spotless.
At times I hate Mare and at other times I know why she is the way she is! In the one scene, she is very kind to the teen and talking to the teen in a motherly tone. A tone she is using to get information but LACKS this tone with her own daughter! She appears to be kinder to other children than her own. I know she is still upset about the loss of her son but there is no need to treat her daughter in that harsh manner! I hope we will soon learn why she is rather cold to her daughter.
Well, that was smart. She’s her own worst enemy.
Yeah, that’s meant to be half of the premise of this series, the fact that she is incredibly dysfunctional. Kate Winslet is doing a commendable job.
Hmmm…let’s see how many red herrings they throw at us before the real killer is uncovered, shall we?
Wheres the link for episode 13?
Episode 11 has been uploaded as episode 13 on every streaming site. They had even done it here, but I reported the mistake and they took the links down. I have no idea why the true episode 13 hasn’t been put up yet.
Following the tragic death of Phil Hartman, his character Phil O’neil, was (obviously) killed off, as well. This episode introduces Jon Lovitz as Max Louis (though I think its actually Lewis) about to watch this episode, so heres hoping Lovitz (who is usually funny) is good in this
He filled a spot adequately, but he was no Phil Hartman. Jon Lovitz will always be “The Critic” to me (another show from that era worth revisiting).
Ahhhhh…”Disaffected Youth, Part 5,666”. But it is a good film, directed by Francis Coppola’s granddaughter.
I had a feeling…after I saw the first 20 minutes of the episode…always suspect the UNusual suspect.
What happened in Waco was an implementation of trauma on the American public. Even my mom in Sweden used to call me a waco at times when she didn’t agree.. Like a projection of madness without an argument from a standpoint of normality.. Bullying straight up.
I don’t gonna see this film as i believe there is better ones crunching this drama. Paramount made Waco https://www.primewire.li/tv/275640-watch-waco
Better to just watch what happened, hear it told from the eyewitnesses’ perspectives. https://www.primewire.li/movie/259835-watch-waco-the-rules-of-engagement
This is one of my favorite shows! You are in for a fun ride :D
Agreed…I love the surreal situations in each episode. You never know what kind of bats**t-crazy madness is going to happen.
Good start…excellent acting, dark and gritty atmosphere, dysfunctionality predominates. The great Kate Winslet brings a grounded honesty. Looking very forward to its progression.
This will be a nice change from the entitled, wealthy characters in HBO’s recent crime shows.
If you liked this, you should check out ‘Summer Rental’ and ‘The Great Outdoors’, both Candy movies.
As a typical sitcom, this show is far funnier than most, even with its many flaws. The cast was always funny, even when thy were given less-than-ideal writing. Worth watching.
I have only seen one or two things more strange. Needless to say, I love it to pieces.
Am I the only one that thinks that Darlene was the cause of all the grief in this episode?!! Yeah, Dan did good but, knowing that the hardware store is struggling, what would make either of them think that a raise is even possible?!! Why would anyone take professional advice from someone who’s made such “wise” professional decisions?!!
Argh! This episode just pissed me off!!
I have felt very validated about blaming most of the trouble on Darlene lately, so I agree with you.
Holy mercy. I forgot how intensely sad and piercingly heartbreaking the end of this episode was. I can’t help thinking of how reckless and selfish Bran could be with his warging, and how Hodor’s trauma/lifelong mental state and his death were Bran’s fault.
Great way to spend a Sunday morning!
