I just love this movie. When I was about 9 years old my Dad rented this movie shortly after getting our first VCR. I didn’t want to watch it. I felt all grown up by then and too old to be watching a Disney movie. I want to shout out a big thanks to my dear old Dad for having sat threw the movie with me. I loved it from start to finish and still do.

Amy simply has to go to a facility for awhile and get medication and counseling. I’m afraid she’s going to do something stupid if she doesn’t. I’ve been where she is, and I honestly thought of ending it all. I truly hope the family can talk her into getting help, and if she won’t, commit her.

On the other hand, Misty looks amazing! Good to see Tammy having a good time, too.

yellow_rose1 1 points 3 months ago.

I agree on all the points you made. I do hope she gets some help. It is so scary feeling like that. I shall pray for her when I say my prayers tonight. You have a blessed night too.

I knew she was abusing him long before the trial. You could just see in pictures at events where he was overweight, greasy hair, looked beat down and she looked so haughty. I’m so glad he’s rid of her. I just wish Hollywood would come around and start putting him into decent movies again.

yellow_rose1 1 points 3 months ago.

I really want that for him too. Although he is the kind my man that might be so hurt by Hollywood blacklisting him over nothing more than rumors that he might be done with Hollywood himself. I just hope he feels contentment and finds happiness again. Whatever that might be for him. He finds much joy in performing in his band, the Hollywood vampires therefore it’s possible that Johnny will continue on with his music and that will be enough for him. I would love to see him in more films. I do hope he returns to the big screen one day. I most certainly share that sentiment with you

I think Amy needs a couple weeks on a mental ward. Everyone has a breaking point if she really is bipolar etc. I know I had one of my worse break downs at her age. I completely snapped and went into psychosis due to my bipolar. I’m afraid for the children at this point. She needs time to just work on herself. Also it is well known that woman with mental illness when have one baby after another causes postpartum and postpartum psychosis. They all think she’s feeling sorry for herself but I believe it’s way more than that.

This is my favorite Johnny Depp movie. i can’t believe he was 28 when he made this movie. For so long, he didn’t look his age, but his habits are catching up with him now.

yellow_rose1 1 points 3 months ago.

Johnny’s looking more like his old self since the trial ended. He’s lost some weight and he finally seems content and happy. I believe much of his drink and drug used stemmed from his very unhappy life with the crazy wife.

Well, we are good. We’ve a family here, and an extended “Aunt” that uses this profile. We all were very poor by American standards. Dirt floors, or concrete, no carpeting. Open fires. Hand-me-downs and foster care for myself, my wife and our “Aunt” friend. It’s not easy, it still isn’t but we ARE grateful for what we have which is solidarity and real love. Thanks and hope you are keeping well.

Agreed, but it is “britches” meaning, boots, as I understand it. We aren’t American but have a similar saying. This episode is TRAGIC beyond tragedy. Why the hell would you do this???

yellow_rose1 1 points 3 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

Hey ThinMan, how are you? I knew I was spelling it wrong also I thought the saying referred to the pants a man wore. Thanks for straighten that out for me. I’m not American either, I’m Canadian and was raised in the country where people were so poor some of them wore Garbage bags to school when it rained due to no raincoats or they had dirt floors no carpets or plywood and they talked like that. I wasn’t raise poor. My Dad did not like me hanging with the poor children as I adopted their backward talk and Dad didn’t like that. I just wanted to fit in.It was a very tragic case. I couldn’t help thinking of my Mom and Dad. If that had happen to them. There would have been no need for a trial or execution

Good episode. They all are. It’s a really good show. When Kelly said her Mom used to say He is too big for his own Bridges, well I haven’t heard that saying since I was a kid. Fargo (2014) S5 E10
grasshopper rex 7 points 3 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

That might be why you watch this series, but I do so for the storytelling. Each season, except 3, is an allegorical tale of a period in America. The deaths of none of those characters except for the cowboys, some of whom did die, would have advanced the storyline or made any sense. As unlikeable as they were, Karen and Gator were victims. Witt”s sacrifice was sufficient to serve that role in the story. Kill the sineater? His redemption and release were a perfect message of hope. If you understand how all this relates to this particular moment in time in America and the difficulties we are facing, you’ll see how perfect and necessary this story is, however doubtful it is that the ones who need this message most are likely to receive it.

yellow_rose1 3 points 3 months ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I agree if you want to see a shoot out and loads of people dying then watch TWD. This series had such incredible character building, like nothing I’ve watched in a series in quite sometime. If the viewer wants mindless viewing then this isn’t your series for sure. Your mention of Witts sacrifice really upset me too. Also I would preferred them to go to prison then just get shot. I found that to be way more satisfying, and redeeming. Also Jennifer’s visit with him in Prison was priceless. I loved every minute of her having him messing in his pants. Great work on the writers and the actors as well as the directing. Everyone was so important and did their job in stellar regard

yellow_rose1 1 points 3 months ago*.

oh dear spelling errors, sorry for the confusion. What I meant was I wouldn’t doubt it if he did kill someone. Abuse victims do tend to be targets to be abused over and over again. Therefore I do worry for her.👌

American Fiction (2023)
Prison Brides (2024) S1 E1
ThinMan -1 points 3 months ago.

She admitted to being in a very abusive relationship before this, so that does factor in. He was yelling at her and hanging up and threatening her. Talking on the phone and writing letters doesn’t count as being involved with someone intimately. The real person comes out in real life and under stress. If he’s like this now, I cannot imagine what’s ahead. Sad.

yellow_rose1 1 points 3 months ago.

yes sad is the word. I would doubt it if he’s capable of killing a someone. He goes from 0-100 in no time and she’s letting him treat her that way without any emotion therefore I suspect he’s been doing this to her for a long while. She seems to just shut down or let it roll off her back. It’s not a good dynastic in such a new relationship

Prison Brides (2024) S1 E1
ThinMan 1 points 3 months ago.

Under the best of circumstances, intimate relationships are difficult. The romantic, dreamer, believer in love hopes for these people, but the realist sees a lot of issues already starting to boil over.

I love me a good western. Old ones new ones, well mostly the old ones. This kind of reminds me of Unforgiven some. Ethan Hawke is one of my favorite actors and this is my first time watching him perform in a western. I know he did a western series a while back too. This is a really good movie. All the actors are stirring up the emotions that they should. For a Blumhouse production it’s one of the best I’ve watched. I’m always leary when I see it’s been done by Blumhouse, as there are some that suck big time, 5 stars from me

I remember when I saw this for the first time when it was released on video, I didn’t even realize Robert DeNiro played Frankenstein. The make up artists were really amazing back then. The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks (2024) S1 E6
ThinMan 2 points 4 months ago.

Abused people, especially children, are susceptible to borderline personality disorder (which has dozens of classifications, not all of which are considered serious). I don’t appreciate the way the viewer never sees Natalia’s tears, but then again, I’ve never had to sit in front of a camera with my prolific abuser story-telling endlessly. Michael is a story-teller. He’s abused as well, but the biggest difference is that he was an adult and he is also accountable. The whole Orphan saga is kind of disgusting, unless the viewer realises it’s pure capitalistic propaganda.

yellow_rose1 1 points 4 months ago.

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks (2024) S1 E5
yellow_rose1 2 points 4 months ago.

I’m sorry but I just have to say it. Michael is such a huge man/child. I’ve never witnessed a man so afflicted by this syndrome or whatever you might call it. Only in a comedy movie have I witnessed an adult this childish. Like Peewee Herman. Anyway I just had to get that off my chest

The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks (2024) S1 E3
yellow_rose1 2 points 4 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

this doc is a very tragic, trauma triggering and worst of all there is no justice other than Natalia finally finding a good, loving home. Michael is a terrible liar. Natalia is showing no signs of deception, IMO. I do hope Natalia finds peace and forgiveness one day. The forgiveness part is really difficult but its so the victim can move on with there life not for the sake of the abuser.
