Ok movie but weird ending. Thank you, uploaders.

When Olivia asks where they took Vincent, the guy tells her “the local hospital in Abbotsford”. This was filmed in North and West Vancouver and Lions Bay and along the Sea to Sky Highway. I live in Abbotsford, and it is a 2 hour drive from there to where I am, lol.

I thought Angela was utterly repulsive, but TLC has outdone themselves. Say hello to Lisa. Ugh.

Ghostbusters (2016)
Ditzygypsy -4 points 4 years ago.

I know so many people hated this, but I just viewed it as a separate entity (no pun intended) from the others, which I love. I think Kate McKinnon is a scream, and I didn’t really know who she was when I watched this when it came out. And I thought Chris Hemsworth was hilarious with his glassless glasses and cat thing. I just like to laugh, and I like physical comedy, and I try to have an open mind when things get rebooted. It’s not like someone trying to cover an Elvis song or something, lol. It’s just comedy. Thank you, uploaders.

I kind of like this show. But I cannot stand Tulip. I’ve googled it a bit, and it seems I’m definitely not alone. I think it’s the actress. I think she’s a terrible actress and her “evil” is overdone and seems like such a put-on. And it makes her very unappealing. Ugly and uninteresting. She seems to be everywhere, so I might have to give up on this series. The wife in “Colony” had the same effect on me, and after I googled to see if I was alone in my hatred of both the character and the actress, in that case, I started to type in “Colony Katie stupid” and I got partway through “Katie” and google auto-completed the phrase for me because so many others had searched for or said the same thing 😂. I think that’s why it failed and why this show is one that few have heard of and many have given up on. Bad female co-stars. Really bad. Too bad.

The Landlord (2017)

I didn’t realize this girl is the lovely Laurette Spang’s daughter until today. Laurette was Cassiopeia in the original Battlestar Galactica, which I think was much better than the reboot. I read the book when I was a teenager, and the reboot has so many things wrong; especially the fact that Starbuck is supposed to be a man. Anyhow, this movie is actually ok. I just wanted to watch it because Laurette had posted it on her timeline. Thank you, uploaders.

Catfished David’s Lana looks a lot like Ksenia Solo from Project Blue Book. He’s not just batting out of his league; they’re in two entirely different sports!

The 9th Life of Louis Drax (2016)

It was different, but interesting, and my guesses were pretty much right. Poor little guy in the movie. Everytime I see Molly Parker, I think back to when I lived in the very small town of Pitt Meadows, BC. She is 2 years younger than my brother. Everyone knew everyone there back then. I think the population was maybe 1000 people. She’s definitely done very well. Thank you, uploaders.

It’s an English doc, but there’s a lot of Chinese in it and no hard-coded subs.

Frost/Nixon (2009)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

Great movie. Very interesting to see some highly unfortunate modern day parallels. At 1h33mins when Nixon says he didn’t actually obstruct justice because he didn’t succeed at it, and Frost says, “Obstruction of Justice is Obstruction of Justice whether it’s for a minute or five minutes, and it’s no defence to say that your plan failed. If I tried to rob a bank and failed, that’s no defence; I still tried to rob a bank.” Michael Sheen is fantastic and Rebecca Hall is too, and she looks so lovely. Thank you, uploaders.

Single in South Beach (2015)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

This is the movie that the lead actress and a female member of the film crew have both claimed they were subjected to sexual harassment, suggestively lewd comments, and when the actress didn’t comply, she was subjected to public humiliation by Kevin Sorbo, and he then had the director/writer write in an extra intimate scene. Both women are more than 30 years younger than him. I often wondered about stories I’d also heard when he filmed in Vancouver on Andromeda. I know one crew member who said she quit solely because of him. These stories all seem to align. His long suffering wife needs to open her eyes. The movie is quite bad, and the lead actresses’ character is an awful, shallow person, but I’m glad I got to see it. I used to like Sorbo during his Hercules days, until I started to hear about his overtly obnoxious behaviour and the fact that he’s clearly a fake Christian. The damage he’s doing to those of us who try very hard to be witnesses for Christlike behaviour is irreparable.

Les Misérables (2012)

Almost no one in this movie has any business singing, but then, that’s what Broadway is all about. Could’ve been good if they had acted. Like actors.

That was so sad. But I had no idea until the end credits that the boy in the film is a real person who made this film about his early life in the US. Whoa.

Crazy Heart (2010)

I don’t mind Jeff Bridges, but he looks, and sounds, exactly like my ex husband who has been a country and blues musician hired-gun since around the time I was born lol.

The Grand Son (2018)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

This was very bad. So many plot holes, and if your lead character is supposed to be some kind of charmer, at least pick someone handsome. Not someone who looks like an anvil hit their face at a high rate of speed.

The Godfather: Part III (1990)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

Well, it only took me until I was 54 to watch this trilogy, lol. I thought it would be full of hideous accents like the Sopranos or Jersey Boys, but I like period films, and I actually didn’t realize this took place when it did until today. This one might’ve been better (for me, anyhow) if they’d hardcoded the monumental amount of Italian conversations into the film. I didn’t know who was bad or who was double-crossing whom or even who had what name half the time. And that whole creepy cousin thing. FFS. Eww. So gross and so distracting. I feel like I need to have a bath and a shower -or two- just to wash the icky feeling it left behind. Plus, Sophia Coppola is, or was, a superbly awful actress. I liked the first two a lot, and this one was just ok. Thank you, uploaders.

Prodigal Son (2019) S1 E2
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

I liked the Pilot. I’ve never watched more than a couple of episodes of Dexter and Hannibal…not my thing, because they are just too far-fetched as anti-heroes I can cheer for for my taste, but I did like Profiler, which actually paved the way for these kind of get-inside-the-killers’-heads shows. But I love almost everything Michael Sheen has done. From when I first saw him as a dim witted punk rocker in Laws of Attraction in about 2004 through to him being Tony Blair (twice, I think) and as Aziraphale the angel in Good Omens. I have Telus PikTV on my iOS devices (but no cable or even an actual TV, lol), so I do get this show, but I’m watching it on here to avoid commercials. So, thank you, uploaders!

Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

None of these kind of links work for iOS EXCEPT (I just found out) if I delete the extraneous.html before the .mp4 in the link (I used clipwatching for the first time!). Html is a webpage. It should really just end in .avi or .mp4 or whatever media type the file is. If you’re like me and swore off of virus-getting technology years ago, and have had problems playing pages that end in .html (sometimes those are dead links), look to see if the media file type comes before the .html at the end of the link and then just delete anything behind the .mp4 or .avi.

https://clipwatching.com/l8oyjdl6hrvd/Take_The_Lead.mp4.html. (Delete the .html)

Yay. Thank you uploaders. I hadn’t seen this movie in years and I was glad I found it. Such a nice story and great dancing.

Jackie Bouvier Kennedy Onassis tv-mini-series (2000)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

The movie is fairly good. I’d forgotten that I’d seen it when it first came out on TV, and then I remembered I had seen it and what I thought then, because I still think the same thing: terrible casting. No one looks like any of the real-life characters they are playing. Not Jackie, JFK, RFK, Ari Onassis, Caroline Kennedy-Schlossberg, JFK Jr., Joe Kennedy, Maria Callas… . Horrible casting. But well-acted, and fairly well-scripted. Thank you, uploaders. Keep the biopics coming!

The Loudest Voice (2019) S1 E7
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago.

I was hoping we’d see the big, fat, old, creepy, rotting, insane, narcissistic turd actually die, but this was still awesome. The makeup in this was also fantastic. Russell Crowe is so disgusting-looking here, and they got that bum-nose prosthetic on Sienna Miller’s face to perfectly match the real one on that silly woman she was playing. Sienna Miller is quite lovely, but they made sure they erased all traces of that loveliness from her face for this, and she did a terrific job in her mimicry and portrayal. It’s a good thing they moved those legal interviews to that other building. Who knows what horrific injustices would’ve continued if they hadn’t. Thank you, uploaders!

An evil bastard running his dirty little empire. I like Russell Crowe, but I can hardly look at him in this role. He’s doing such a great job channeling the fat, lying scumbag he’s playing to perfection. And Sienna Miller is blowing me away as his ridiculously ignorant wife. She’s nailed that hideous accent. Great series. Wish I could’ve waited and binge-watched it. Thank you, uploaders.

Every Secret Thing (2014)

Eleven years old and they thought they could leave a baby overnight by itself? I was babysitting and had St. Johns’ infant and child CPR training at age 11. I mean, I can suspend disbelief for fantasy movies, but this isn’t supposed to be a fantasy. Extra stupid 11 year olds. Wtf. Btw, this is not a spoiler. We know who the young girls are who are convicted of the initial crime right away. That’s not the story. Just FYI. I love Diane Lane. She can play equally-well a funny, self-deprecating, personable character or an awful, self-righteous bitch. Thank you, uploaders.

Star Trek: The Motion Picture (1979)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago*.

I heard they’re re-releasing this in theatres to celebrate the 40th anniversary of its original theatrical release. 40 years. Wow. No way. I saw this in the theatre by accident. We went to see Electric Horseman, but it had gone, and this was in its place. I was 14, and my twin best friends and I had been dropped off, so we were stuck there. This was the only other movie we hadn’t already seen, lol. We kind of laughed our way through it, since I had never been a Star Trek fan, and it just seemed so cheesy. But later, I married a baby boomer, and he is a Trekkie, and I learned to love the characters and the various series. It was Star Trek IV that eventuality won me over. I like anything about time travel. Electric Horseman is a great movie, but I’m glad I accidentally saw this iconic first movie when I did.

Big Little Lies (2017) S1 E3

I’m really trying to get into this show, but the ugly Polaroid-style colour filter they insist on using, awful worst of the 70s folk music, and just general almost overly esoteric weirdness is making it pretty damn tough. It’s really quite depressing.

Boy Erased (2018)

So many heartbreaking moments. I’m a Christian, and I find the whole idea of conversion therapy as absurd as Asshole Therapy. Oh, if only that therapy could actually work. How much better the world would be if we could rid it of the assholeness that is everywhere, and that is especially rampant in the news headlines everyday right now. I just noticed that they’d often part or hang up the phone without saying “I love you”. I never leave my son or end a conversation with him without telling him that, nor does he with either his dad or myself. You never know if it’s going to be the last time you see or speak with that person. The movie is very well done, and the information at the end about the head conversion therapist was not exactly surprising. I was surprised to see how much they got Russell and Nicole to look like the real parents, though. Thank you, uploaders.

There’s some confusion about which episodes go with which titles for Season 8:

Episode:
0 The Return of Abby
1 Abby’s Big Comeback
2 Mommy Dearest
3 The Broadway Brat
4 Choose Wisely
5 Queen of ALDC
6 Lily’s Ultimatum
7 Yolanda’s Back
8 A Team on Trial

So, we are missing Episode 8, which aired July 9th. Thank you, uploaders!

I love Elvis. I worked for an ETA for awhile, and I’m not crazy about most of them, but some, like Shawn Klush, really give people a good show. You have to sit just far enough back to maintain the illusion, and if their voices are good and close enough, you really can be entertained. But I did enjoy watching the mass destruction of the many awful ones in this movie. Thank you, uploaders.

I just find the songs, not the score, that they’re choosing to be ugly sounding. I don’t like fad voices…the kind that have idiosyncrasies that are in for a bit, and that a while bunch of people try to mimic, then that go away after that cohort group has grown up and realized how awful it sounds. My cousin worked for Sarah McLachlan for many years, and she is really and truly a very nice and very hardworking person, but she has a fad voice. Now everyone has a speech impediment like Sia, et al. It’s just painful to listen to. But, there was one song that was good, but I’m not done watching this yet, so there’s still hope! Glass half full! :)

Heart of the Beholder (2005)
Ditzygypsy 0 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

This was ok. Contrary to what one odd IMDb reviewer said, there is most definitely a wrong and a right side in this film, and the wrong side is made up of crazy, fanatical, shamefully Christless people. Hypocritical kooks who don’t follow what we are supposed to follow: the New Testament commandments and lessons Jesus gave us, and who prefer to rely on a skewed version of the Old Testament to feed their fears. But what I didn’t understand is why there is an In Memorium to the late John Candy at the end. This was released in 2005, and he died in 1994. Hmmm.
