RuPaul's Drag Race (2009) S15 E4
alexisbits 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

She tried out for the role of Hellpriest/Pinhead for the “Hellraiser” remake. I would’ve loved to see that, though Jamie Clayton did a good job too. On another note, have you see the Gottmik Paris tutorial on Youtube? https://youtu.be/w_AAXLC-uY0

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

Oh yes I knew about Mik trying for the role. It would’ve been awesome. I’ve yet to see the remake or even the original lol. I’ll check out that tutorial. Surprised you could post that!

RuPaul's Drag Race (2009) S15 E4
alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago.

They should know by now, but they just keep trying. Agreed about Gottmik, but she was so great on her season. I still get shivers thinking of her “Hellraiser” look.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

Oh yea that Hellraiser look was mesmerizing. She could hardly move in it though lol. She was amazing on her season. Love her.

Alright. Due to the little popularity and the poor punctuation on imdb that this movie seems to have I feel obliged to write that people should ignore all those facts and do exactly what the title of this movie tells u to do. I’m sure a lot of people aren’t going to like it but I’m also sure that there is a public for this one that will enjoy it as much as I did.

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

Great cast. Like the premise. On my list now.

alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Oh yes, Joan was definitely a riot. Well-deserved win. And you’re right about Sugar and Spice, it was only a matter of time.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

You’d think the queens would learn to avoid doing social media influencers from watching previous seasons of snatch game. They rarely work out. Gottmik’s Paris Hilton was one of those rarities.

RuPaul's Drag Race (2009) S15 E4
alexisbits 1 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

That’s a lot of snatch! I love the dual Snatch Game. Loosey’s Joan Rivers and Mistress’s Rosie O’Donnell were hilarious. Marcia and Selena were also really good. The rest, not so much. It wasn’t a surprise to see Sugar and Spice in the bottom. Sugar’s Trisha lacked personality and humor, while Spice’s Miley was over the top in a bad way. I kept hoping someone else would take her sledgehammer. lol. A great episode.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

LOL a lot of snatch! I thought Rosie was decent but no comparison to Joan Rivers who was hysterical. It was inevitable Sugar/Spice were going to lip sync against one another. Production would be stupid to pass up that opportunity lol.

Has anyone watched this yet? Love Aronofsky’s films but from the trailer alone it looks very depressing yet quite good. I think I’ll need to be in a certain frame of mind to watch it. Aronofsky’s movies are always fascinating & definitely challenge the viewer in one way or another.

Krampus (2015)
alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago.

I’ve loved Toni Collette since a friend introduced me to “Muriel’s Wedding”. But my favorite roles of hers were this and “Connie and Carla”.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

She was incredible in Heriditary. I think that’s my favorite. Such a mind blowing role. I forget she starred in Muriel’s Wedding, it’s been so long since I’ve seen it. She’s done a ton of movies over the years.

Krampus (2015)
alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago.

Most movies involving Krampus aren’t that good. Take https://www.primewire.tf/movie/860687-krampus-the-christmas-devil for example. But this one is really good. Toni Collette really sold it, I think.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

Yea Collette ups the acting ante on any movie she does, she’s just THAT amazing. I’ll check out that movie page but I’ll take your word for it not being good lol.Thanks.

I watch this every year on December 5th. Always a fun watch.

Wednesday (2022) S1 E1
alexisbits 1 points 1 year ago.

I was worried about Luis Guzman because of his prior acting history. But it turns out the weak link is Catherine Zeta Jones as Morticia. Jenny Ortega is a great Wednesday!

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

That’s really surprising that CZJ is the weak link w/all her acting chops. I’m going in to check it out myself. Thanks for the heads up!

Interview with the Vampire (2022) S1 E1
alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago.

It IS a bit slowly paced. But well done. There was a lot of attention to detail, at times a bit TOO much. But I think that as the story develops, it’s going to be good. I like how they modernize it, while giving a nod to the original interview. As a long time fan of The Vampire Chronicles, I’m glad to see them bring new life to Anne’s characters. But if the pace remains as it is, it won’t hold enough interest to get a second season.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

I forgot to reply to this. Cool you are liking this as a fan of the original & books. I am too. Agreed there was maybe a bit too much detail in that one scene but at least it wasn’t visual lol.

The Watcher (2022)
augusts1 3 points 1 year ago.

Watched the 1st epi last night & man talk about a creepy great show. Stellar cast w/Naomi Watts, Bobby Cannavale & Jennifer Coolidge of the known names but the rest of the cast is great too. Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Deadly Devotion (2013) S1 E2
BellaMia1 1 points 1 year ago.

It fascinating to me how people can allow themselves to be brainwashed to the point of consensually giving their will power away. I wish people would learn from the countless stories that have been told through the years. Good watch.

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

It is fascinating. Many people want to believe in someone or something more powerful than themselves & have the combo of poor self esteem to go w/it. Denial & ignorance play into it too, hence why people don’t learn from the numerous examples throughout history. Knowledge is power.

Interview with the Vampire (2022) S1 E1
augusts1 2 points 1 year ago*.

Interesting 1st epi. It’s slowly paced & done well all around, unfortunately I was too distracted by life stuff. I need to wait & watch another epi before I make any criticisms.

Inside Man (2022)

There’s a fantastic movie from ‘06 directed by Spike Lee w/the same title. Denzel & Jody Foster star. Check it out here: https://www.primewire.tf/movie/944437-inside-man

Inside Man (2006)

Such a great film. It’s a truly riveting film w/a fantastic cast & performances & top notch cinematography. It was beautiful on the big screen when I first saw it.

Rap Sh!t (2022)
Alien 1 points 1 year ago.

4.3 is the TVMaze rating. It’s always different.

augusts1 -1 points 1 year ago.

That’s only based on 6 votes though lol. Crazy they go w/that over the IMDB score. IMDB has a much broader spectrum of people & just a larger voting group.

The Sandman (2022)
alexisbits 1 points 1 year ago.

I’m going to have to look this up.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

It’s really worth the watch. It’s well acted albeit by relatively unknown leads to me at least & a very dark both visually & in the script & beautifully shot w/incredible FX. Here’s a link to it: https://www.primewire.tf/tv/372906-swamp-thing

The Sandman (2022)
Xsile 2 points 1 year ago*.

yup, the reason was to expensive to produce and DC streaming was floundering at the time.

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

Understandable since it is a well done series but unfortunate for the production crew/cast.

Rap Sh!t (2022)
augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

6.1 rating on IMDB but a 4.3 here w/no one commenting. SMH. Definitely something awry here.

Issa Rae created & executive produced this show so I know it’s great just from watching the trailer. Issa co-wrote & starred in the amazing show ‘Insecure’, so this is her new show. I’m looking forward to it.

The Sandman (2022)

Swampthing was a great show. To bad nobody watched it or it would have been a hit. More so then this show imo.

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

I know a bunch of people who watched Swampthing as did I. Loved it & was hoping for a 2nd season but it was unfortunately canceled not long after the 1st epi was released I heard.

Into the Woods (2014)
ShugarCat 3 points 1 year ago.

Its interesting how they intertwined the fairy tales. And the cast is top notch but, this plays more like an opera. Too much singing can be a bad thing … over kill. Its not something I will re-watch.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

It originally was a Broadway musical (in case you didn’t know), so the opera feel comes from that I’m sure and/or whoever adapted the score/screenplay for the movie. I’ve not seen the play but I saw this in the theater & although visually spectacular I felt uncomfortable throughout. I’ve since fallen out of watching musicals which is very odd since I’m a big music person. I think it has to do with the unreality of a bunch of people breaking into the same song supposedluy’spontaneously’. I just can’t get into the cornball/fantasy aspect of that anymore lol. Funny though my favorite movie is Hedwig & The Angry Inch which is a rock musical. Love that movie so much.

The Brothers Grimm (2005)
augusts1 2 points 1 year ago.

Loved this. I’m a big Terry Gilliam fan. I saw this in the theater when it came out, which is how every Gilliam movie should be seen since they are visually quite stunning. This is pretty fun & silly if I recall correctly. Need to see it again since I’ve not watched it since my first viewing in the theater.

Vanjie: 24 Hours of Love (2022)
augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

Vanjie. Miss Vanjie. Miss Vaaaaanjie! Loving this show. It’s equal parts entertaining, funny & shady af. It’s everything I want in a mindless watch. Plus I love Vanjie/Jose, she’s hilarious.

Harold and Maude (1971)

Classic! Grew up watching this twisted movie. Equally funny, dark, endearing, sweet & sad it’s a quirky odd couple movie. Cat Stevens’ soundtrack is perfect too.

Three Thousand Years of Longing (2022)
augusts1 3 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Such a beautiful epic film. A love story for the ages. Both Tilda & Idris have such a wonderful chemistry & since their conversations make up the majority of the film there needed to be great chemistry to carry the movie. Just a fascinating storyline & every aspect is well done. I do have an issue with the fact that the djinn needs to go away due to the technological noises that bring him pain. Why did she not sell her house & move to an area where the noise wasn’t an issue for him. Seemed odd to me. Still a fantastic movie although due to it being dialogue heavy it might not have enough action for some people & be slowly paced. Highly recommended though
.

Vengeance (2022)
augusts1 1 points 1 year ago*.

Excellent movie. Directed, written & starring BJ Novak who does an amazing job. The supporting cast w/ Issa Rae & Dove Cameron is fantastic too all feeling so real in their characterizations. It’s a fish out of water scenario & a who done it dramedy. It definitely will get you thinking too due to the in depth themes. Highly recommended.

The Patient (2022) S1 E3

There has to be something wrong with her too. The 30-min-at-a-time suspense is killing me.

augusts1 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Yea obviously she is a victim of abuse so I’m sure there’s some post traumatic stress disorder & depression going on. Agreed, the 30 min run time is not enough but definitely keeps me watching to find out wtf will happen.

The Patient (2022) S1 E3
augusts1 2 points 1 year ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I’m wondering just how much the mom knows about her son’s ‘impulses’. Carrell’s character addresses the violent impulses in the family session but it’s unclear if she knows he’s actually murdered numerous people. Then again she’s ok her son w/kidnapping & keeping the therapist chained up so maybe she does know.

American Horror Stories (2021) S2 E7

I actually liked the Drive-in one. But I love Adrienne Barbeau. From “The Fog” to “Creepshow” to “AJ and the Queen” to “Tales of Halloween”, she never disappoints.

Yea she was the best part of that episode.

American Horror Stories (2021) S2 E7
alexisbits 2 points 1 year ago.

Right, augusts1? This is exactly what season 2 of “American Horror Stories” is about! The first season was more misses than hits, but this time. . .

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

I stopped watching Season 1 after the 2nd epi because it was so bad. I liked the 1st epi but the ‘Drive In’ was so teen drama it was horrendous. I’m glad they bounced back from it

American Horror Stories (2021) S2 E7
alexisbits 1 points 1 year ago.

It certainly deserves STIFF criticism. :-P

Seriously, I thought it wasn’t bad. The ending was kind of beautiful, in it’s own “American Horror Stories” kind of way.

Talk about twisted! That was so good but so sick. What an emotional rollercoaster.

The Patient (2022)

The episodes are short, but they feel right. No filler and each is a distinct chapter. I probably should have waited to binge it, but it’s too late now. I’m invested and will just have to be patient.

augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

I was surprised at how short the episodes are but you’re correct there is no filler. The 2nd epi really leaves you on a cliffhanger.

The Patient (2022)
augusts1 1 points 1 year ago.

Just from the 1st two episodes I’m mesmerized. It’s quite an unusual & compelling twist on the serial killer genre. Gleeson & Carrell are both excellent in this & quite believable. I’m looking forward to the rest of the series to see where this goes.
