I thank you for your comment. I have re-read my post many times, and I can see that there is frustration and anger, but that doesn’t make it any less-true. My professors would agree with most of what I’ve said, and it can be hard to condense 8 years of education into a single post. I felt that I needed to ‘dumb-it-down’ for others to understand. If I talked about Social-Stratification, No-Bid-Contracts, privitizing education, war-profitiering etc etc, then most people wouldn’t understand why ‘school-choice’ is actually bad. And why “No-children-left-behind” along with “standardized testing” is actually ruining our public schools, and offering it into the hands of private corporations. I am a patriot, I am an American, and I love my country. The truth is usually hard to swallow, most people balk at it. It’s human nature. Once a persons’ reality/belief system is challenged, then they reject it, and throw up a mental defense. It’s frustrating when the majority of voters don’t even have a very high, formal education. This is why many philosophers thought democracies would ultimately fail, namely Plato. My passion for the truth and education is not miss-guided. I stick by everything I’ve said. Thank you.

Welcome! I’m disinclined to unpack that as well. Compositionally, both your posts either Frankenstein outright fallacies or are inextricably contextualized by, and I’m not really in the mood to vivisect the deluge of it all that kindly [forex: chastisement for using money to create an environment by which equality [or democracy; or education] might thrive, when one wouldn’t spend that same amount in the same way were it already thriving, and not acknowledging that that is also relatively more peaceful a persuasion than outright force, is… and so on]. Anyway, my best to your professors; they need all the help they can get. Disengage!

“True to the story”- what the hell do you know about the truth of the story? Do you know Megan Kelley? Did you work for Fox? You don’t know truth about shit. Stop watching liberal-media, and taking it at face-value. God, you are such a tool. 5 companies own 95% of all media, news, social-sites, papers, blogs, and search engines. 4/5 are openly announcedas democratic. Fox has done an Overhaul over the past few years. I have a formal degree in Media-Literacy; from taking multiple Sociology and Critical-Thinking courses, from a ‘democratic’ school. Educate yourself! The Democratic Party is NOT what it used to be, before the 70’s…It is the party of corporate-greed, and selling-out the American-People now. They (Democrates/Hillary) gave MILLIONS to Iran, a country which condems its women, and stones them to death, yet they addvocate for Womens Rights?!? China has been growing at the expense of America for over 25 years. Want proof? Go into any fucking store, and see where 90% of the products come from. The democrats sold us out. High-Paying production jobs are overseas now, and the NBA + others are PANDERING to a COMMUNIST China, afraid to say anything that will lighten their wallets. I’m not ‘gun-hoe’ for the Republican Party either. I’m an Independent/Libertarian. Our Government is bought and owned by Corporations. ONLY when the American people wake up and educate themselves will we be free of this tyranny. The Red and Blue ‘pill’ are two sides of the same coin. Unlike ‘Progessives’ on college campus’ these days, I will not wish for you to die, or want your throat slit. I only hope you can educate yourself, and join me in being a truely free American. The lesser of two evils is truely better. Trump 2020!!

Hi! Would you be so kind as to self-critically review the text you just posted line-by-line at the level your degree warrants? Thanks!

Again, this conversation was with Krakken, but I’ll answer as best as I am able. There is nothing self-evident about his claim. If anything, the self evident part is that the fact that science hasn’t explained everything perfectly yet, and the part that it has explained is so intricate that it points to an intelligent being creating science and everything science teaches us is evidence and proof of a diety or dieties in existence in the world today. The “No True Scots,” part I don’t understand. If you want to continue this discussion on my wall, that would, I believe, be a more acceptable forum.

So Xtianity and Islam -are- in the show? Oh, OK.

And I’m not a big fan of magical thinking, fallacies of regression, arguments to ignorance, or variations of reification, ad popoulum, and ipse dixit, so—

All the best.

This conversation has been between Krakken and myself. Krakken started with with an implied negation. I’m simply asking him or her to prove it. The burden of proof lies with the person who started the claim- Krakken- not me.

nowt 0 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

His claim is self-evident, the show itself proof that neither Xtianity nor Islam are in the show. Your reply, tho? A No True Scots followed by two unprovens which serve as a false dichotomy [which seems to be the fallacies you mostly lean on ever after].

Good stuff.

nowt -2 points 4 years ago.

Just found out Nazis weren’t political, as well as being incomparable, so I guess no asking ironic questions or not liking either fascists or proto-fascists.

And to answer the question: Only sorta. Feedback loop: Germans aped Americans in their views of race and honesty; a ‘special’ breed of American sees the documentation of that as a how-to, not as a how-not-to.

But you know that, amen.

etim -2 points 4 years ago.

derek, once again, you totally miss the point.
I wasn’t defending the movie, I was defending my (and others’) RIGHT TO MAKE MY OWN DECISIONS about it, and whether or or not to watch it at all.

Unfortunately, you and your ilk have successfully eliminated my rights with your kneejerk (and mostly uninformed) efforts to have the film removed. It’s interesting that you used a hitler reference to refer to me and not yourself.

nowt -2 points 4 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

No more rights concerning decisions about how and where to watch the movie?! On an everchanging internet!?

I’d feel like a raped baby too if that happened to me.

And it happened to me, liminally. Bloobie-Reich special.

A Serbian Film (2010)

I, for one, am offended that the site is apparently allowing a movie to be censored and removed after several people complained about it—especially when most HAD NEVER EVEN SEEN IT!!
Someone (who hadn’t seen it themself) is even encouraging others to report and demand a ban on the vid based only on what they read in the comment section!

This movie has been out and around several years. I think I saw a bad copy when it was 1st out.
I wasn’t impressed or offended enough to have any clear recollections of it, except to remember it was distasteful enough that I didn’t care to see it again (except to maybe see what all the fuss is about now).
BUT I didn’t start frothing at the mouth and DEMAND that it be removed!

Come on, ppl,if you hear that a movie might offend you,
THEN DON’T WATCH THE DAMNED THING!!

But don’t go all vigilante and deny others the opportunity to see and evaluate a film, to be able to form their OWN opinions!

This is supposed to be America (remember freedom from oppression?). Let’s start acting like it again.

And stop expecting PW to do your babysitting for you!

Let me paraphrase your answer. Humans are animals, but our conscience, laws, morals, art, architecture, etc are not what identifies us as a species. What does then? Clearly, even as animals, we are a separate species from every other animal on the planet.
