The Doorman (2020)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Like we haven’t seen THIS particular trope in movies & tv shows a 100 times over already…LOL!! Ruby (I Can’t Act My Way Out Of A Wet Paper Bag Blindfolded) Rose needs to just stop…enough is enough…when is she finally going to realize that she is a terrible actor?

True to the Game 2 (2020)
Arcangel2020 4 points 3 years ago.

Vivica A Fox is JUST like Taraji P. Henson…she doesn’t care about the quality of a script or the storyline of the project she is involved with, just give her a paycheck and she will show up.

Forever Knight (1992)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really enjoyed this series back when it was on the USA Network. I thought it was quite well done…well, the first two seasons. It’s unfortunate how the third season was mishandled towards the end. This preceded the Highlander tv series, so the backstory/memories from historical periods in time were better done imho.
I seem to recall that CBS tried to do a similar series several years back with a Police Detective as a Vampire character and it was gawd awful/unwatchable too.

The Umbrella Academy (2019)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

Terrific show!
Enjoyed watching Season 1 and Season 2, a lot.
With the way the second season ended, not to mention some of the questions raised during the episodes…can’t wait for season 3 to arrive!

Brightburn (2019)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I liked it.
It’s a bit of a slow burn story-wise, but well done. It’s kind of like…Homelander (from “The Boys”) The Early Years.

What We Do in the Shadows (2019)
Arcangel2020 4 points 3 years ago.

I like this series a lot, it’s well done and hysterically funny. The premise of Vampires living in the modern era with a human familiar may sound like a tired trope/been there-done that sort of thing…but this show cleverly handles that with brilliant deadpan (pardon the pun) humor and silliness

Amy Schumer: Growing (TV Special 2019) (2019)
etim 1 points 3 years ago*.

She’s not Sen Schumer’s niece. They’re 2nd cousins, once removed, or something. Please try to keep your “facts” and conspiracy theories straight when using them to badmouth someone.

Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

First of all, my comment here is not a “conspiracy theory” and second of all, what you refer to as “badmouthing”? is actually the cold hard truth about someone who is unfunny and a waste of time watching her show. If that offends you? Just move along.

Faust (2001)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Word of advice? If you’re able to find the Adult Graphic Comics this movie was based on? Do yourself a favor and check it out/read the series…I remember reading them back in the early 90ies and they were great.

Amy Schumer: Growing (TV Special 2019) (2019)
Arcangel2020 4 points 3 years ago.

Wow. “Amazing” how Amy Schumer keeps getting offers from Netflix to turn her (terrible) standup routine into shows. Clearly little Ms. Schumer is relying heavily on her uncle (Senator Chuck Schumer) to influence the right people at Netflix to keep throwing good money after bad when it comes to not one, not two..but three shows.
Amy Schumer is not…I repeat NOT as funny as she thinks she is..her 5 minutes of fame stemming from the awful movie “Train Wreck” expired years ago, the movies she has been in since bombed big time at the box office and she is about as relevant today as a 5 day old Ham Snadwich left out in the sun.
She needs to finally understand that there are far more intelligent and funnier female commedians out there who are so much more better than she is.

The Mandalorian (2019) S2 E1
expresso 2 points 3 years ago*.

That’s because he was Raylan Givens on Tattooine :) Timothy Olyphant for all your lawman Hollywood needs. Deadwood, Justified, Fargo 2020, and now Mando. I haven’t seen Santa Clara Diet - should I?

Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Honestly speaking here? I didn’t really care for Santa Clarita Diet all that much…I stopped after the second or third episode, because I just couldn’t get into it. Don’t get me wrong I really LIKE Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant..but I think the reason I couldn’t get into it? I think I was “suffering” from “Zombie show fatigue” at that point (“Walking Dead”, “Fear The Walking Dead and “Z Nation”). A lot of people loved the show and have suggested that I give it a second shot

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
idrow 2 points 3 years ago.

This was actually my favorite one of the X-Men franchise. I don’t get why you dislike it so much, but to each their own.

Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I wanted to like it, especially when I first watched it. However, I just thought it was badly done, especially with how the character Deadpool was handled (again, thankfully we got a MUCH better rebooted Deadpool character later on).
Again, IMHO…I though this one, along with X-Men 3 were just plain awful

The Mandalorian (2019) S2 E1
Researcher 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

When he first showed up, his walk and posture immediately reminded me of Olyphant! Then, he spoke and I knew it was him. I think Timothy is Hollywood’s Go-To Man for U.S. Marshall types…he owns the role every time!

Arcangel2020 3 points 3 years ago.

Ha! Agreed!
I like Timothy Olyphant as an actor and really liked him in the FX series “Justified” as well as the film (remake of) “The Crazies” too. Watching him in “The Mandalorian” episode? I STILL kind of thought of him as Raylan Givens but on Tattooine.

Color Out of Space (2020)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Finally got a chance to sit down and watch this one.
My thoughts on it are mixed…it was fairly decent. It wasn’t awful or bad (and let’s face it Nicholas Cage has been in some REALLY bad films in the past) but it wasn’t great either.
It’s “based on an HP Lovecraft story”…and I thought it was basically a mix of The Thing meets Life meets Annihilation.
So, all in all? I would say it’s worth a watch if and when you have some time for it.

Wentworth (2013)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

A terrific show! Thankful that a friend of mine from Australia mentioned this series to me after I made a comment on how I binge-watched “Orange Is The New Black” a while ago. I know that OITNB is a Dramedy set in a woman’s prison and Wentworth is a serious drama…but still…this show is much better, better actors and a MUCH better set of storylines.

The Shield (2002)
Arcangel2020 3 points 3 years ago.

Such a great show from beginning to end. Great premise, terrific storyline(s) and a great a great cast as well. It’s both cool and humorous to see later on how Kurt Sutter (who was part of “The Shield” production staff go on to create the equally terrific “Sons of Anarchy”) bring back a number of the actors from “The Shield” to do cameos as different characters in that series.

The Mandalorian (2019) S2 E1
Arcangel2020 3 points 3 years ago.

Terrific start to the second season. I liked the storyline of “The Marshal” and liked Timothy Olyphant’s character and backstory and…not to ruin the ending for those who haven’t watched yet…the ending!
Damn you Disney+ for ONLY releasing each new episode one week at a time…lol

Quinceañera (2006)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really liked this little Indie film, very well done and the storyline is pretty good too. After having watched the FX Network show “Snowfall” which actress Emily Rios is in, I totally forgot that she (as a young actress) plays the main character in this movie, which I had watched several years ago.

Batwoman (2019)
Arcangel2020 14 points 3 years ago.

I knew this show was going to be a total disaster once Ruby (I can’t act my way out of wet paper bag) Rose was cast as the lead character. I decided to go against my initial feelings and watch the show…guess was totally right! Ruby Rose is NOT a good or even decent actress to begin with…how she got cast as the “Batwoman” is beyond me..she was in one season of “Orange Is The New Black” and that character barely registered on the attention scope..and then she was in John Wick 2 playing a mute assassin with no speaking lines whatsoever.
The fact that the CW is still continuing this series and recast the main character with a Black actress as the new “Batwoman” is both hysterical and laughable and proves that they don’t know what they are doing with this series that should have been cancelled midway through the first season.

The Americans (2013)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

Terrific series. I really enjoyed this series for quite a few reasons…besides the really good cast, the setting and the storyline of the show? The reason I liked this show was because I was a young kid back in the early 80ies who enlisted in The US Air Force and was stationed over in (West) Germany during basically the height of the Cold War era and I worked in Communications and possessed a high security clearance. A lot of what the shows creator and the writers wrote for this show…The Soviet Union, what the Soviets were doing, their various espionage departments and spies, the programs they were running, what the US Government and US Military did to counter what “The Evil Empire” was up too..all totally rings true and it brings back a lot of memories from my military days from the early/mid 80ies to the early 90ies.

The Number 23 (2007)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

If you suffer from a major case of insomnia? Just try and watch THIS terrible movie. It’s guaranteed to put a person to sleep…it’s THAT bad and THAT boring and THAT stupid too.

After Earth (2013)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

This (so-called) “Movie” (which was a total Will Smith Vanity project) is absolute, utter garbage. Approx. 88 minutes of this crap is full of Jaden (“I can’t act my way out of a Burning Building and the only reason I am in this garbage is because Will Smith is my Daddy and he got me the role”) Smith horribly acting and doing what he has done in previous movies (e.g the awful “Karate Kid” abomination/remake) which is whine and cry and throw temper tantrums
There is absolutely NOTHING good about this movie…except for the two words at the very end that say “The End”.

A Wrinkle in Time (2018)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Absolute garbage of a movie.
I remember back when Marvel Studios was searching for a Director to do the movie “Black Panther” and Ava DuVernay was strongly being considered to direct that movie. I also remember reading how she felt it was “beneath her standards” to do a Marvel comic book film” and so she passed on the project…thankfully. And thankfully Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios went with a MUCH better director to make that movie

Dark Crimes (2018)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Yet another “film” (i.e. pile of utter CRAP) with Jim Carey that is such utter garbage. Don’t even waste your time on this one, it’s not worth losing the 92 minutes you will never get back in your life if you do.

X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This one was SO bad on SO many levels that even Hugh Jackman as the title character couldn’t save it. Thankfully, the other Wolverine movies (“The Wolverine” and “Logan”) as well as the “Deadpool” movie with Ryan Reynolds would erase the bad memory/taste this movie let Marvel movie fans with…lol

No Ordinary Family (2010)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I really liked this show, a shame that it ONLY ran for one season. It had a lot of potential to be a terrific series.

Young Sheldon (2017)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I really LIKE this series a lot. The cast, the storylines…every episode I’ve watched so far is pretty hysterical and I like how “Big Bang Theory” fans are able to see the funny backstory of Sheldon Cooper and his family living in Texas.

Friday the 13th: The Series (1987)
Arcangel2020 3 points 3 years ago.

Pretty excellent Horror themed show from the late 80ies (Along with Takes from The Crypt and Forever Knight). The show had some pretty clever stories each week and of course hot looking redhead (Louise) Robey was also another reason to watch as well :)

The Fog (2005)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

As far as remakes go? This one was pretty bad. Stick with the original John Carpenter classic…sure it’s seriously “dated” by being a Horror movie from the 80ies, but John Carpenter made some classic stuff and I consider the original as one of my favorite Carpenter films from his early years as a Director

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century (1979)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I remember going to the theater as a kid and seeing the movie for this tv series (which was actually the Pilot for the series and had been released over in Europe as a movie as well). I loved the show as a kid too. Now, when I watch the old repeats? Not only does it remind me of my childhood from the 70ies, but I get a kick out of how really bad…cheesy bad-it’s good…the show was. lol

Ready Player One (2018)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

If you haven’t read the book (which is pretty excellent)? Then by all means, watch this movie. If you HAVE read the book and haven’t seen it? Be prepared to be disappointed. It’s watchable…just not good. I had SO much potential.

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I really liked this one. I liked the storyline (which is a prequel to the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre) which tells the back story of both Leatherface and the crazy family. Definitely worth a watch.

The Howling (1981)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

One of my all time favorite Werewolf films. Love this movie! Do yourself a favor…watch this one, but skip the horrible sequels that follow afterwards.

Antebellum (2020)
Arcangel2020 3 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Don’t even waste your time with this one, it’s utter SJW themed CRAP.
This movie had a lot of potential and really could have been something terrific..instead? You get a movie where it was made out to be one thing and turns out to be something completely different (Basically? The trailer for this film flat out LIES to you)
The story DOESN’T involve time travel or an alternate dimension (like the trailer made it out to be)
And the ending? Was something very similar to what you’ve seen if you watched M. Knight Shammalan’s “The Village”

Apollo 18 (2011)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

I liked this one. Not bad for a “Found Footage” horror film.

Van Helsing (2004)
Arcangel2020 0 points 3 years ago.

Such a BAD movie on so many levels…unfortunately. Neither Kate Beckinsdale (Mmmmmmmm….Kate Beckinsdale!) nor Hugh Jackman could save THIS movie.

Underworld (2003)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I have just two words to say about this movie….Kate Beckinsdale. Or rather, Kate Beckinsdale as a sexy Vampire wearing a Black Leather outfit.

Elf (2003)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

Love THIS movie! It’s such a hysterically funny movie. Terrific cast and love the storyline too.

Caddyshack (1980)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Classic 80ies comedic Gold! Love this movie!

Get Out (2017)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

This movie was WAY overhyped. Was it a fairly decent movie to watch? Sure. Was it a “great” movie? Not even close. Again, decent movie. Worth maybe a watch. But it’s not an incredible movie or a great movie by a ling shot.

X-Rated: The Greatest Adult Movies of All Time (2015)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

Terrific Documentary on the Adult Film Industry.

Galaxy of Terror (1982)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Such a classic, shlocky sci-fi film by the great Roger Corman! It’s so bad, it’s good! Love the scene with the hot looking Blonde and the ravenous monster space worm too.

Das Boot (2018)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

I watched the first season of this series over on Hulu and I was hooked! Terrific show and well done too. I am a huge fan of the original 80ies film and was intrigued that a series was made from the movie of the same name. I definitely wasn’t disappointed and I am looking forward to watching season 2 now that I found it here.

The Cabin in the Woods (2012)
Arcangel2020 1 points 3 years ago.

Love this movie!
I remember when this movie came out in the theaters…it was playing at the same time as a little ole film called “The Avengers” also came out. Not sure if anyone saw that one…lol

Slither (2006)
Arcangel2020 4 points 3 years ago.

Terrific film from James Gunn! really liked this one a lot and it reminded me of the 80ies classic gem, “Night of the Creeps” too.

Z Nation (2014)
Arcangel2020 2 points 3 years ago.

This show was SO cheesy BAD and obviously a total ripoff of the whole Walking Dead/Fear The Walking Dead series phenomena when those two shows were brand new and had everyone hooked on what would happen next (Sadly, that is no longer the case for either of the series). I actually found myself watching this show to see how bad and how cheesy it would get as it progressed…I wasn’t disappointed. Ha!!
