Look out CW, Netflix is coming for the “sexy teens save the world” genre. My guess is this show copies the story from ‘Revolution’. Everything from global blackout, tribes, and probably even nanobots really. Yeah, I got $20 on nanobots.
Complete with a 30-year old “teen” (Henriette Confurius) lol yeah this looks kinda CW but maybe more brutal I dunno.
I like CW shows though :p
Really looking forward to this show. Love Love love me some Asia Ortega!
I’m not surprised it ended, it had a decent start but that was about it. The fact that it got a season 2 was surprising. Based on S1, i personally didn’t see it getting renewed.
I thought it was a legitimately funny show throughout personally and the kids were great, Marlow Barkley especially.
I watched the first episode, this show is a freaking hilarious and no-holds-barred send-up of PC culture and social justice warriors, which I am fine with irl but this is about SJWs who are secretly horrible people and hypocrites which not all SJWs are!
If you find it offensive then you are missing the point.
Also, the actress playing Penny is gorgeous and looks like the singer Maisie Peters.
Paige needs to dump that guy!! Get out now, he’s an *hole! RUN!!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if after season 5 it gets renewed for season 6 and then they announce season 6 will be the end.
This show is AMAZING. Do yourself a favor and start watching this immediately. I have never been so entertained. Not a second wasted, no filler, just great script and direction. Love the main actor and his facial expressions. Please watch this. Great cast of supporting actors
what the hell are the audience laughing at are they watching something different than this show? -the only positive thing i can say is that this has nascar footage stuff -could have been much better - well i got past the credits and watched for 5 more mins it did not get better - hard pass -PS when did the word comedy change its meaning?
Just read that CBC have agreed a second season… header says ENDED though.
Really enjoyed the first series. Something a little different.
Modern, but rooted in tradition.
Love this show and ready for season 2!
Sorry to burst your bubble but the show was canceled due to controversy surrounding the showrunner
What did he do to get such a meaning less ending, I didn’t even know he was X ed out till I heard other pl saying that got rid of him. There was no mention of him after that short little scene?
There were some sexual misconduct allegations against the actor. Don’t know the full details. Sorry.
Not owning a television for years, I tend to play catch-up when it comes to shows on terrestrial UK TV and so it was with ‘Back’ which I only discovered when a kind soul posted it here on PW a week ago. I was a huge fan of Mitchell & Webb’s Peep Show series from the start, so with some trepidation I dived into season one of Back. Having now caught up, it left me with the same feeling when I watched The Detectorists -it was OK, funny in places but really the praise lies in the fact that I actually watched it till the end. A glib review would suggest Back is a cross between Peep Show and Dennis Potter’s Brimstone & Treacle (while a pretentious review would suggest Peep Show and Pasolini’s Theorem).
The actors were good, I laughed in places but as the saying goes, the centre no longer holds - I can remember the total anticipation and joy when a new episode of Peep Show was broadcast and that lasted till the last series whereas with Back, it doesn’t really bother me I’m three years late to the party.
I know that along with Mitchell and Webb, we’ve all got a lot older and the entire universe of UK TV comedy (and the UK itself) has changed completely but something has definitely been lost along the way and what’s replaced it is ironically, no laughing matter. Now, when’s the next episode broadcast…
Because it’s the “same old” CBS, NBC, ABC FOX prime time. Nothing challenging about it, all been done before, very predictable and it’s the mainstream young people that watch this stuff, can’t make it to complicated
Young people? I don’t think anyone under 30 watches network tv anymore (there are some exceptions however) and CBS especially is a channel for the boomers.
A show I’ve been looking forward to for a while. I’m looking forward to finally checking it out!
i don’t know how this got uploaded a week early but i’m sure as hell not complaining
will there be a season 2……..
Yes though they had to shut down production on season 2 due to COVID. Be patient.
Noel Clarke tweeted that bulletproof was recommissioned for another season and this was being called a special idk maybe it counts as a season sky1 announced that it did get renewed for a 8 episodes next season
These 3 episodes aren’t season 3 there a three part special set in South Africa. If you didn’t like the first 2 season you probably won’t like this the show did get renewed for a third season
I’m pretty sure this 3-part special set in South Africa is what we’re getting instead of a more proper season 3!
But Abby Cowan is ADORABLE.
I know that doesn’t mean much of anything but she is so cute and gorgeous. The show could still be crap but….. I clearly just like redheads. Annalise Basso on “Snowpiercer” is gorgeous too and I love her natural red (orange?) eyebrows! ❤
Trash, I couldn’t make it through the first episode. It was like a bootleg Harry Potter meets Twilight meets Hunger Games.
@yonkk’s description is correct. Nothing like the cartoon version. Kinda the same treatment as the CAOS. I would like to see a season 2 but not counting on it, cause Netflix is petty like that.
Netflix seems to cancel everything these days that isn’t an instant “Bridgerton”-style smash. Even CAOS didn’t get to do their big crossover with “Riverdale” that was going to be in season 5.
It certainly doesn’t help that Netflix doesn’t promote most of their shows well at all.
“I’m not exactly a f**k on sight kind of guy”
I love this show! So funny!
They give anybody a cooking show🤦🏾♂️
Because of COVID, this type of “celeb cooking show” has become especially popular
it’s not really the evolution of sitcoms, it’s more that they are trapped in a sitcom world and slowly they are trying to escape it and this is just guessing, but Marvel has a character fixated on tv shows; Mojo, so it might be him behind it
Yeah but they are using the trapped in a sitcom premise to show how sitcoms —- and America —- evolved over the decades.
I hope Disney don’t make it all disney like and keeps the allover Marvel intro’s packed with action and epic battles.
It’ll probably become what you want it to be eventually but right now its far more concerned with being a comment on the evolution of the American sitcom and the changing views of America throughout the decades.
Great family film, the kids will love it.
I wanted to downvote it but I love me some snark
