I absolutely love this series. I got hooked form episode 1, and never looked back. I highly recommend it.

The Umbrella Factory (Short 2013) (2013)
BellaMia1 4 points 4 months ago.

That was not bad actually. A one-time watch.

The Private Life of Henry VIII (1933)
BellaMia1 4 points 2 years ago.

This is one of my favorite depiction of the life of Henry VIII. Charles Laughton was an amazing actor. Definitely one of my favorite actors of the Golden age of cinema. Worth the watch.

The Flying Man (2013)
BellaMia1 4 points 8 months ago.

This short left me underwhelmed. I was not impressed.

The Genetic Detective (2020)
BellaMia1 4 points 3 years ago.

Wow. That woman is my heroine. For years, I’ve been following her work, fascinated. Way back in the late 90s, when she used to go to talk shows for family reunions. And of course, her applying her talent and knowledge of genetic genealogy to genetic forensic, I was there watching. I hope she keeps on doing her thing to bring some kind of closure to missing or murdered families. Definitely will on watching.

Contagion (2011)
BellaMia1 6 points 5 years ago.

Not a bad movie, good enough for a one-time watch. Once you’ve seen a couple of these viral contagion genre of movies, you’ve seen them all. But still, it’s freaking scary how such a thing could happen any day. Isn’t humanity due for another mass contamination scenario? Like the Black plague was? It killed millions of people around the world. And knowing how governments around the world are trying to create a biological weapon, isn’t it just a matter of time before one moron somewhere, let’s something loose? Scares me to death, such eventuality. 5.5/10 stars.

Jack Irish (2012) S1 E6
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I have to say, I wanted to shake some sense into Jack, many times. His behavior sometimes, is mindless, illogical. Made me wanna smack him. The ending to this whole complicated situation, felt a bit rushed to me though. They could’ve dive into more of a polished finish, this felt a bit rushed. I really loved the humor in this series. Those older guys were funny. Definitely worth watching.

Sauce (Short 2017) (2017)
BellaMia1 3 points 4 months ago.

Not very memorable. Didn’t do much for me.

Sissi (1955)
BellaMia1 3 points 3 months ago.

I don’t remember how many times I’ve watched these movies (there are 3). Been doing so since I was a kid, and still do to this day. The sceneries are so beautiful and since I am fascinated with castles, it’s right up my alley. Same goes for the beautiful costumes. Definitely worth watching.

BR0THERS (Short 2020) (2020)
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

Interesting short. The ending was unsettling to me. Definitely makes you think about A.I. and their impact. Good watch.

Armada: 12 Days to Save England (2015) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

I love international history, and this documentary is right up my alley. So I don’t think Ill be disappointed with this.

Now and Then - The Last Beatles Song (Short 2023) (2023)
BellaMia1 3 points 4 months ago.

I didn’t realize that song was worked on, years ago when George was alive. It was nice to see him before his death. I can understand why Ringo and Paul wanted to finish it. Interesting “behind-the-scene” footage.

Cops Who Kill with Will Mellor (2023) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 1 year ago.

The Met Police could have definitely saved this poor woman, had they grown a pair and sanctioned this creature when he offended, prior to this crime. But the “blue wall” being what it is, a police man or woman can get away with A LOT before they are punished for an offense. And it is the same EVERYWHERE in the world. And it’s unfortunate that because of these creatures, people mistrust the police nowadays. Despite the fact that there are many good cops.

Wycliffe (1994) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago*.

I’m glad that in these time of confinement, I get to discover shows that I knew nothing about. this is another one of them, and once again, I like it. Another keeper.

Crazy Horse, Paris with Dita Von Teese (2009)
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

I have to say, I’ve heard about Dita since the 90s, but never took the time to see her work. And I’m glad I finally did. I’d rather see her sensually stripping away her clothes, than watching today’s strippers twerking. There’s something about taking your sweet time unwrapping a present. Wish it lasted longer though. Good watch.

Catching Britain's Killers: The Crimes That Changed Us (2019) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

I remember watching a series about the discovery of DNA, and it fascinated me. It was a HUGE discovery into forensic science. It was nice to see the real people involved in this amazing path to forensic discovery.

The Loch (2017) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

An intriguing series so far. I’m hooked and will keep watching. Boy, the main character’s daughter is quite an entitled and detestable little b*h. I already hate her. And her father is a wet noodle.

To Kill a Mockingbird (1963)
BellaMia1 3 points 1 year ago.

This movie stayed with me, long after watching it. A though-provoking movie, that everyone should see once. Thoroughly recommended.

Under Your Bed (2019)
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago.

I can’t say that this movie did something for me. Except for the long and graphic scenes of marital violence, which frankly, did not need to be so long to make whatever point the director was trying to make. After a while, it felt gratuitous. Some scenes are just dragged on and on, going nowhere. As for the ending, yeah. I just sat there at the end, wondering why I wasted my time with this movie. And this should NOT be classified as a horror movie. There was nothing scary there. So in all for me, a miss.

The Fall (2013) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago.

Nice. This definitely has my attention. Can’t wait to see how it develops, further into the storyline. Another one to keep.

Jack Irish (2012) S1 E2
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago.

I’m really into this show, now. I love the humor, especially with the pub scenes. I’m definitely eager to see the rest. Good one.

Etheria (2020) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago*.

Where’s the rest of the story? It felt like they left a part of the story on the cutting board. This should’ve lasted 10 mins more. Just OK for me. Hope it get better with future episodes.

Wire in the Blood (2002) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago*.

A strange character, this Dr. Anthony Hill. I don’t know what to think of him, yet. He’s definitely a different breed. I will keep watching, and eventually, I’ll make up my mind about him. An interesting and weird episode. Nice.

Plurality (Short 2012) (2012)
BellaMia1 4 points 2 years ago*.

The effects were efficient enough, but not the best. And the script was interesting. I wouldn’t mind seeing a full-length movie, with a better budget and a well-thought scenario. Watching this, I couldn’t help but to shudder at how technology eventually, will track us like animals. And eventually, someone will use it for the wrong reasons. If they’re not already doing so. It’s just the human nature. A good and reflective short watch.

Ghost (1990)
BellaMia1 4 points 1 year ago.

Patrick and Whoopi were the best part of this movie, no offense to Demi. Still get a tear toward the end of the movie. Good watch.

Schindler's List (1993)
BellaMia1 4 points 5 years ago.

Watched this move again, for the first time in years. And I still had to stop it to catch my breath. This amazing movie got to me, got under my skin, broke my heart. Everybody should see this movie, as a stark reminder of what may happen again, if we forget history. And seems like after 70+ years, we’re marching toward this global catastrophe again, nowadays. Radicalism is growing fast around the world again, and it’s freaking scary. EVERYBODY should watch this movie. The images of the little girl’s red coat still haunts me as a visual. Definitely worth watching. 4.5/5 stars.

Homicide Hunter: American Detective (2021) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

I simply love Joe Kenda. I mostly love the way he narrates a case, with his “oh my”. He’s looks like a cool guy, that you’d want to have a beer with. I’ve been following him for years, with his other show “Homicide hunter”. And I will continue to do so. Good watch, as usual with Mr.Kenda.

American History X (1998)
BellaMia1 3 points 8 months ago.

This movie stayed with me long after I finished watching it. All kinds of emotions were going through my mind. Anger being primary. And that’s what a good movie does. Gets a reaction out of you. Edward Norton was amazing in this role. Personally, I think he should’ve gotten the Oscar that year. How unfortunate. Asides from that, this movie is definitely worth a watch.

Highlander (1986)
BellaMia1 3 points 1 year ago.

What a cool classic to see. One of my all-time favorite. Definitely worth watching.

Megan (2018)
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago.

Ugh. I’m annoyed after this watch. It was well done enough to want to see more, but there wasn’t much to chew on. is this an appetizer before the main course of a full-length movie? Or was this it? If a full movie comes, I will give it a shot. If not, this left me on my appetite. Wish it lasted longer.

Black Mirror (2011) S2 Special
BellaMia1 3 points 5 years ago.

Oh my gosh! This episode was something else. It stayed with me long after the end. And it scared the crap out of me, for the future. The major media companies already have all of our data by now, data that we freely gave them, without thinking about the consequences. We didn’t take the time 10-15 years ago, to realize that those sharks were slowly but surely stripping us of our privacy. We adhered to their shiny technology, taking our eyes off the bigger picture. And now, the Pandora box has been opened for a while, and there’s nothing we can do to close it. Our private information, and data of everything we do on the Net, has been collected and without OUR PERMISSION, is being sold to other parties. What we saw in this episode should be food for thoughts, for ALL OF US. Freaking creepy. Very good watch.

Singin' in the Rain (1952)
BellaMia1 3 points 1 year ago.

One of my all-time favorite movie. Love it!

The Princess Bride (1987)
BellaMia1 3 points 1 year ago.

I absolutely love this movie. Still watch it, whenever it’s on TV. A classic that is definitely worth watching.

Social Media Murders (2021) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Although I fell sorry for this young lady and her family, I can’t help but think “what was she thinking?”. Why on earth would you go with a complete stranger, in a foreign country, where you don’t have a support systems to help, and return with him to his hotel room? Why take the chance of putting yourself in danger like that? These questions kept gnawing at me. I wish young women nowadays would be more careful, with those dating apps. There are plenty of predators swiping and looking for the right kind of victims to prey on. By looking her social media activities, he probably knew that she was an easy target. And unfortunately, she became one. What a sad story, and instructive to all women on the net.

The Usual Suspects (1995)
BellaMia1 3 points 8 months ago.

Amazing movie with interesting characters, a solid scenario, and an ending that I never saw coming. It just blows your mind. A classic that is recommended.

Murder Calls (2017) S1 E2
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

That creature’s voice was spooky, because it contrasted with the brutality of his actions. But karma has a way of catching up to you. Like it did with him. Good watch.

The Haka (Short 2021) (2021)
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

I really liked this short. I’ve always been fascinated with the Maori culture and their amazing Haka ceremony. I find it exciting and it sent chills down my spine every single time I see it. I lost it, laughing, when the Germans reacted to it at first. Good watch.

Inferno (Short 2019) (2019)
BellaMia1 3 points 3 years ago.

Not bad, good for a one-time watch.

Pandora's Box: Unleashing Evil (2016) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 2 years ago.

I remember reading about that case. It gave me chills, at how devious these creatures were. True psychopaths. Good recap for me.

Shadow of a Doubt (1943)
BellaMia1 3 points 5 years ago.

Another good one from Master Hitchcock. O love Joseph Cotten, and he was quite creepy in this movie. Worth watching.

The Golden Palace (1992) S1 E1
BellaMia1 3 points 4 years ago*.

I used to love watching “Golden girls”. I still watch it here and there. But I knew nothing of this spinoff, back in the 90s. This is a good surprise, now. This pilot brought me right back in the world of the ladies. Sophia still kills me. Needless to say, that I will be watching all the episodes. Good watch.

The First 48 (2004)
BellaMia1 3 points 5 years ago.

I have been watching this how since it started in 2004. And I have enjoyed watching it all these years, until I find out that some of the case were meddled with, for the sake of looking more dramatic for the audience. And some cases were errors on the person or were downright false. It has cooled down my enthusiasm for the show. But I still watch it though, only I take the cases with a grain of salt now. Still, a relatively good show, if you like forensics and police procedures.

New Tricks (2004)
BellaMia1 3 points 4 years ago.

I absolutely love this series. I highly recommend it, if you like a hint of comedy well done, with your police procedural series. And yeah, with a cast of older geezers.

It (2017)
BellaMia1 3 points 4 years ago.

Because of the trauma this movie caused me when I was younger back in 90s, I delayed as much as possible watching this remake. This movie back then, single-handedly made me hate clowns. The kid in me, dreaded how it would go. Now, this movie is better shot than the original, no doubts. The cast of kids, was amazingly good. They looked so natural, not like they were acting. And Pennywise. F**king Pennywise was creepy as hell. As good as Bill Skarsgard is here, Tim Curry will always be Pennywise to me. With adult eyes, this movie was not that scary. Because most of the story is focused on the kids (which is fine by me), there was not enough to keep me in a constant state of uneasiness. The parts where the clown was on screen, were effective enough. The one thing that bugged me a lot, was the constant swearing of the kids. Sorry, but back then, I didn’t know of any kids that age, swearing like that. Come on now! So, it’s not as awful as I thought it would be, it’s a good watch for a remake, with good visual effects. But I guess I was expecting a little bit more uneasiness. Just to bring back the fear of yesterday. I’ll be watching part 2 soon.

Chiller (1995) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

I never heard of this show in the 90s, so this was another new one for me. And so far with this episode, it’s a good start.

Prime Suspect (1991) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

Geez! The level of sexism in this episode, made me mad. Now, I understand that those were different times. But still, enraging. If it wasn’t for Helen Mirren, who I adore, I would’ve stopped watching.

Bergerac (1981) S1 E1
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

I didn’t know that John Nettles was a cop in another show. I know of him because of “Midsummer murders”. And this first episode caught my attention. I will keep with it. It was so weird to see him so young.

The Godfather (1972)
BellaMia1 2 points 1 year ago.

There’s not much to say about this movie. Only that it’s one of the BEST gangster movies, of all time. If not, THE best for many people. And I agree on that one. I definitely recommend it, and its sequels. A true classic.

The Ruth Rendell Mysteries (1987) S1 E4
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago.

This was an OK storyline, although the conclusion of it left me annoyed. The length of the storyline was too long, for how it concluded. Too easy, too weak. But I’ll will keep watching.

Waking the Dead (2000) S1 E2
BellaMia1 2 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I liked this 2-part episode. Although the behavior of the police, especially the black guy, was questionable at times. Another keeper for me.
