Dodi's comments

The Exterminating Angel (1963)
Dodi 7 points 3 years ago*.

Another dark Bunuel story that leaps at you like a nightmare, a weird surrealist and metaphoric film that criticizes the behavior of the bourgeois class in delicious satire, in the vein of “The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeousie”, a long time favorite.

Only Murders in the Building (2021)
Dodi 7 points 2 years ago.

Martin Short kills me, fobl, what a character, nothing like him.

Relic (2020)
Dodi 7 points 3 years ago.

This is really good and creepy. Have not liked a “horror” like this in ages.

Invasion (2021)
Dodi 9 points 2 years ago.

Expected to hate this from all the negative comments. Surprised how much I like this and would binge if I could. So waiting for next episode with bated breath.

I Know This Much is True (2020)
Dodi 6 points 4 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Never seen anything so funny as when Lewis comes over inebriated. I had to replay it. Ruffalo never disappoints.

Three Colors: Blue (1993)
Dodi 6 points 3 years ago*.

Phenomenal, emotional, beautiful, and reflective of life. Kieslowki’s masterpiece of all the color series imo. One of those films you never say “one time watch” about. lol

The White Ribbon (2010)
Dodi 5 points 2 years ago.

Among my all time favorites: subtle, complex, disturbing, with pains taking execution, as you’d expect from Haneke.

Sexy Beast (2001)
Dodi 4 points 3 years ago.

Finally decided to watch Sexy Beast after hearing good things about it for years. No lie, so good. Love Ray Winstone’s talented work, and been looking up his oeuvre, like The War Zone https://www.primewire.ag/movie/338430-watch-the-war-zone

Nyugalom (2008)
glostarz999 1 points 3 years ago.

Hooray! A new film to add to that long list of movies with titles that sound like something evil that Lovecraft might have come up with.

Dodi 4 points 3 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

The title means “calm”, totally Lovecraftian. lol But the subject is dark and evil, showing the sadistic way Soviet Communism twisted it’s great talents into the dust, and it’s consequent collateral damage.

The Good Fight (2017)
VacantField42 10 points 3 years ago.

This series acknowledges everything that needs fixed in our world, with a wink. It’s funny and shocking, yet humble and honest. This season is a MUST WATCH. I highly recommend The Good Fight.

Dodi 4 points 3 years ago.

Okay, starting this today, thanks Vacant. :)

Quit Staring at My Plate (2017)
Dodi 4 points 3 years ago.

Pretty heavy duty. Makes you see Dubrovnik in a different light.

Крепостная (2019)
Dodi 4 points 3 years ago*.

Really enjoying season 1. I have roots in this part of the world so it’s particularly entertaining. You really get itching for some of those sadist sociopaths to get their come comeuppance. Katinka does turn on the faucet a bit much.

Death in Paradise (2011)
Jorjia 7 points 5 years ago.

This is a really great series the main detective i was talking to my husband and we thought he would and could make a fantastic Dr. Who he is corky and unique as are all Dr.Who actor’s. I really love this show it is another clean cut show with out all the sex and i am thankful they make shows like that still.

Dodi 4 points 5 years ago.

Thanks. With you on that.

The Grey (2012)
Riz 5 points 3 years ago*.

Awesome movie, I’ve seen it many times and I enjoy it everytime… I swear Liam Neeson never disappoints imo.

Dodi 4 points 3 years ago*.

Agreed! :)Great existential story, and Liam really rocks.

Veep (2012) S1 E1
Dodi 4 points 5 years ago.

Finally started watching this, Season 1, Episode1, after someone recommended it. So glad I took him up. Now I have tons of good watches coming up.

Audrie & Daisy (2016)
Dodi 4 points 3 years ago.

Daisy Coleman just committed suicide. What a gorgeous girl, and I don’t think she really even knew it. Horrible, being lied about, ostracized, while the perpetrators get off,and it goes on a all the time, in other forms too. Alcohol is the original date rape drug, young girls need to be better informed.

The Game (1997)
K1 Fighter8 2 points 5 years ago.

my all time favorite mystery thriller Movie even if it is from 90s thought.

Dodi 4 points 5 years ago.

Definitely agree. :)

Blizzard of Souls (2021)
Dodi 4 points 3 years ago*.

Based on the 1933/34 novel by Aleksanders Grins, forbidden in the USSR, its author shot in 1941. It is an unashamedly male and patriotic story, with a heroic approach to war, depicting a grim episode in Latvian history. Later on, after WWII, Stalin made Latvia a Soviet puppet state (1940,)and Russia misruled it till the collapse of the Soviet Union, 1990.

De bende van Jan de Lichte (2020)
etim 5 points 3 years ago.

I don’t like reading subs but this one’s worth it. Quality production, good acting and writing. Great sets for a robin hood kinda adventure set in Europe in the mid 1700s

Dodi 4 points 3 years ago.

Glad I caught your comment yesterday. This is excellent stuff.

Ted Lasso (2020)
Dodi 4 points 2 years ago.

Another surprise of a gem that grabs you by the seat of the pants, glues you to your screen, when you should be out and about already. ;)

An Unknown Compelling Force (2021)
Alien 1 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Because Bigfoot doesn’t live in snow covered mountains.

Dodi 5 points 2 years ago.

But yeti does.

My Brilliant Friend (2018)
Dodi 5 points 5 years ago*.

Excellent execution. Been so waiting for this. It’s like a metaphor, an allegory for things I can relate to. Thanks uploaders!

The Circus (2016)
[removed by a moderator]
Dodi 7 points 5 years ago.

I don’t think so.

Promising Young Woman (2020)
Dodi 6 points 3 years ago.

Wow! Not bad, not bad at all. Loved the satire, the horror, the pathos, the fun.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2015) S2020 E90
Dodi 3 points 3 years ago.

So glad Stephen is back from vacation! Sweet how he talks to his wife off camera as his “straight man”, and that his kids hold up his cue cards. lol

Dobermann (1997)
Dodi 3 points 5 years ago.

I loved this flick. Over the top.

The Beast Must Die (2021)
Soleil 3 points 2 years ago.

This Man Must Die (French: Que la bête meure), also an excellent French/Italian movie (1969)directed by Claude Chabrol… Hope this series is as good of the movie !

Dodi 3 points 2 years ago.

Just discovered Cluade Chabrol and am binging on all his work I can find. Chabrol is an old New Wave director, a style I find I love. Watched the first episode here and am now skipping to https://www.primewire.ag/movie/141185-watch-this-man-must-die for comparison.

Sputnik (2020)
Dodi 3 points 2 years ago.

Yay! Version 2 voe.sx is dubbed. The subs were so bad, like computer generated gibberish.

The Devil's Backbone (2001)
Dodi 3 points 5 years ago.

This is super. One of my fav del Toro flicks. For me it was scary as hell.

The Fabulous Baker Boys (1989)
Farmboy41 3 points 3 years ago.

One of my favorites.

Dodi 3 points 3 years ago.

Ditto

The Virgin Spring (1960)
Dodi 3 points 3 years ago.

A masterpiece to watch again.

Next Stop Wonderland (1998)
Dodi 3 points 5 years ago*.

Fun with Hope Davis on great locations around Boston and the North Shore. :)

The Seventh Seal (1958)
Dodi 3 points 3 years ago*.

The vision of Death playing chess with the knight is so perfect that this surreal, “silent” film has long been considered one of the masterpieces of cinema, with the dance macabre trailing off into infinity.

The Lickerish Quartet (1970)
Dodi 3 points 5 years ago.

Hmmm. The single host vev.io does not seem to be a free streaming source. Do you have to join them to view flick? Confused. lol

Revansa (2008)
Dodi 3 points 3 years ago.

Really different, good watch, glad I gave it a go, even if the first few lines have no subs, they kick in soon after.

Mulan (2020)
Dodi 3 points 3 years ago.

The controversy over Mulan arises from critics accusing it of indirectly favoring the oppression of Uighur Muslims in China. Communist Party officials in the Xinjiang province— an area where Uighurs have been detained in mass concentration camps—authorized filming there, and a Communist Party agency is acknowledged in the film’s credits.

Mr Inbetween (2018)
Dodi 3 points 2 years ago.

Another gem I just accidentally came across. Can’t stop binging, and it only gets better as the story rolls out. Just starting on season3

Interrogation (1989)
Dodi 3 points 3 years ago*.

Intense. Really kept me on the edge of my seat. Putin’s world. Just wish I could figure out who it was that opened the door that last shot. grr I would say an excellent watch.

Nine Perfect Strangers (2021)
Dodi 3 points 2 years ago.

So glad I found this after reading about the series in the news, and when I realized the “topic”, a few episodes in, I like it even more. :)

Barry (2018) S1 E6
Dodi 3 points 5 years ago.

Aw, and I really liked that cute Taylor dude. :( lol

The Last Duel (2021)
[deleted]
Dodi 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

She invited the violent sex? She looked like she was enjoying the sex at any time? Across the board, no woman treated like that “enjoys” it. No means no, don’t you conclude, MM? She put her life at risk by reporting the rape, exposing herself to be manipulated by biased, ignorant, and hostile male interrogators, instead of keeping quiet as the other girls raped in her circle did.

The Last Duel (2021)
[deleted]
Dodi 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

No mystery here: rape and gaslighting. She never had a “little death” with any of her inept lovers, meaning neither her husband nor rapist. She got lucky with her son for both to survive this abomination of “justice”. Glad she had 30 years of peace and prosperity and who can blame her for never marrying again? lol

Mortal Engines (2018)
Dodi 4 points 5 years ago.

This was great fun. Really enjoyed it last night.

Fall Time (1995)
Dodi 4 points 5 years ago.

That smile Mickey had back in the day. sigh. “You get my drift, don’t you?” lol

I Am Greta (2020)
It's_A_TV_Site_U_Loser 3 points 3 years ago.

“I would like a cleaner world. I would also like to see everyone be productively employed. Fed. And out of poverty.”
I don’t believe you want any of those things. I don’t believe you think about anyone else in a positive manner, ever.

Dodi 4 points 3 years ago.

I do think you are a provocateur, Loser, and I think you are describing your own negative self. Sorry I got sidetracked on your vitriol, and thought these kind of personal put downs were not allowed here.

A Murder of Quality (1991)
Dodi 4 points 4 years ago.

Joss Ackland is one cool prof. Tight classic with young Christian Bale.

Unfit: The Psychology of Donald Trump (2020)
ramfat 7 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

…And Joe Biden, the segregationist, who was good friends with the former KKK leader Robert Byrd, who did nothing in 47 years in office except author the 1994 crime bill that was responsible for incarcerating blacks at 5 times the rate for minor drug offenses, who has had 2 major brain strokes, and is suffering from late stage dementia…yeah, he’s really “fit” to lead the USA. LOL

Dodi 5 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Trumped up fake news.

Joker (2019)
Dodi 5 points 4 years ago.

Thought I was going to hate it, waited for DVD quality, gave it a shot because of Joaquin, then ended up really liking it all around.

Locke (2014)
Dodi 4 points 4 years ago.

Not bad story. Take away: modulate your voice at all times, especially under duress.
The jewel like lights, and rich night colors- and that voice- swept me off right away. :)

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert (2015)
Dodi 5 points 4 years ago.

My number one go to succor during this captain-bone-spurs saga. phew.
