2.5/5 I know this will sound negative, but for me this episode was over-saturated with the crews emotions, their emotional responses and processing their emotions with each other.
This has its place, but almost every character was processing emotionally at the expense of pace, narrative and as a result the tone suffered.
I’ve enjoyed watching this series so far, but I can’t see how the show is going to warrant decades of rewatches as per 90s Berman era Trek.

It is aligned with the current trend to add as much drama as possible into everything they broadcast to us…
Lot of cars in there I used to drive for sure…
Odd direction this movie, easily could have been a tragedy many times over.
So it was a love story, was that what I watched, no empires formed?
Guess I gave up too early on at least a dozen relationships according to these writers… Was watching waiting for there to be some epic spin or .. it just kept on rolling same pace throughout..
More like 2 religions feuding than actual athiests against theists. Since there is this entity they proclaim their leader and they praise, this AI system has become their god, so this is just 2 waring religions…
Ten of us all saw one at same time, a large triangle in sky, no lights, just blocks out space behind it so close to us, many around here have seen it since that time. so Yes, I believe…
thanks for a great premiere, guys; looks like the new season’s off to a good start
they certainly ramped up the drama, I was hoping they turned it down a few notches…
Will try and watch, was one of my earliest childhood memories, so sad…
Gets pretty interesting towards the end, they suspect our own CIA, and share evidence, they did this because JFK was not doing their bidding or starting any wars.. Being lied to by our own intelligence agencies because someone behind the scenes think they should wield the power.. was not aware of the Chicago or other cities where he was going to motorcade through had very similar assassination scenarios in place.. Wish there was something more official, or some way to weed that type of individuals out of places of power.. still so sad thinking back to that day and all the deceit public officials over the years told us about what happened that day..
Not a bad flick for someone who knows the behind the scenes at a campus. But I would ban the use of recording devices that record more than just audio. There can be a TA who takes pictures of what is written on the board and uploads that to students via an official website. You can see from this episode things will get out of control easily from the students taking things out of context..
At the end, it says “Next Time: The American Nightmare” in big giant letters.
Sad our government subjected soldiers to such toxins then even though internally admit bad, deny any proof.. they treat military as expendable, and if you serve and live, they just do not give a F… you are considered waste like the pits that poisoned you… total disgrace to military.. shame…
I lasted only 12 minutes…A british serial killer, comedy, does not make sense….And I have a hard time understanding their accent…They talk too fast..NOT FOR ME….!!!!!!!!
I saw nothing that would make me think this was a comedy.. they were trying levity to remove tension from job is closest I could see to any humor in this episode. i must watch enough british content as had no issues understanding anything that was spoken..
Thanks for the great series, an epic tale, much more realistic than anything I have ever seen.
Great little kick of nostalgia and a nice dedication to lost crew mates.
It would seem this show is about to really take off. Hope it’s around for at least a few seasons or more.
Have to keep reminding me designed for kids as some scenes are rather frustrating to watch. Then other scenes return us to a path… glad not a hate fest like Discovery though.. which I enjoy more.. hope Picard and the other appear soon..
I am starting to think that this is a “Game of Thrones” want to be. But it does not have a big enough budget or good script. I am also getting bored with the way things are in this season and the ending of this episode was just yuck! I always think its an insult to the intelligence of the viewer when the writer makes his characters do stupid things to make the script work. And here it
s happening over and over.
should just kill her sister, say it was suicide over guilt of trying to blame her actions n start a war and then let peace reign and the sighted guide them forward…
I want to know where they packed all that gear in those boats, was there storage below deck? They seem to have a lot of older items at these camps and would think food n battle gear would have most they could store.
They talk about disinformation, sure some of the incidents could have been our own technology being tested. Back in late 60s I used to gather old weather maps at Milwaukee TM field, one night there was a huge military presence and a ship on the tarmac that looked like the saucer shaped ship from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. We came within 500 feet of the craft so had a decent view of it, I gathered my maps, and when we left we were escorted a different direction out of the airport so we could not take a 2nd look at the craft. They had fuel trucks, half dozen Jeeps, and a couple larger rigs there… So sure, I agree they may be testing technology and the public may see and then they try and cover it up, but every sighting, very unlikely as sightings predate air travel. And now that everyone has mini-computer with a camera built in, certain they would be more covert, and I have not heard many sightings even of the giant triangle that is shaped like the vessel they show in this episode, but it was solid, not a flying V, a triangle in early 80s.. They did have news story saying they were going to advertise in space back then, so prototype? But why are people still seeing it locally 35 years later?
So this episode tries to explain away many sightings, but still leaves us questioning whether or not they are all explainable or not…
I didn’t expect much from this it being nickelodeon with that said the 1st. episode is a pretty good watch- hope they keep it as good the episodes to come.
More of a PG type series, although would have loved it when I was younger like I did the original series…
I’ve lived in the US and in two countries with socialised medicine (still live in one of them). Don’t let anyone lie and tell you that socialised medicine is crappy or somehow worse than the medical system in the US. It isn’t. There are short-comings, of course, but it beats the hell out of being either not insured or under-insured in the US (as so many people are). Hell, even with good insurance, you still have to worry about medical bills… it is a broken system that works for very few citizens.
I am all for whatever label they choose to call it, where everyone is covered, people fear that word here, yet they really do not understand it…
This must be the year of. I have no idea what is going on. Foundation now Invasion. I am clueless.
Plots n sub-plots. this one really pulls the moments apart, being dramatic…
Other, just have to pay attention or binge it so things add up.. gl..
A lot to unpack in just the beginning…
Very complex episode… pay attention..
I liked the back story about this famous artist, just it ended pretty abruptly when that women shot him and not much about the remaining years of his life. I guess there are more episodes to come, but they could have stated that, it was like a documentary up to this point and felt it was coming to a close, then poof, it was over and nothing to indicate there would be more to come, other than this page where it ways S1E1…
Bill is so out of touch, I’m surprised anyone watches this or listens to what he has to say.
When he was more associated with Lewis Black think he was more with it.. It does seem like he drifted to middle of nowhere bouncing about… guess touring with Rosanne must have gotten to him..lol
Everyone is upset Tracy can’t do the ‘stupid redneck’ voice of Early and that voice sort of made the show. Just hearing that voice was part of the appeal as you knew from its tone something stupid was going to happen.. Guess one day people will learn certain thoughts should just stay in one’s own head instead of social media if they intend to work in the public’s eye… The show’s ‘appeal’ is over, final season is fitting..
This is the most complicated multi-episode I’ve seen, beats out the oldies by longshot… so many layers.
Sad state of affairs our for-profit medical system has turned into…
