Origin (2024)
TK 3 points 26 days ago.

I am so glad that I read the book before seeing this movie. Ava DuVernay wrote a brilliant script representing the journey/research behind a captivating yet horrifying book, and brought the stories to life. Be prepared to be shook to your core if you haven’t read the book, and re-shook if you have.

Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2014) S11 E1
TK 6 points 2 months ago.

WOW! That was funny, interesting and oddly disturbing. One of JO’s best? It should at least appear on the top 5 list. Can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds.

The New Look (2024)
TK 2 points 2 months ago*.

So far, the first three episodes are amazing. You don’t have to be a fashion lover to watch it, just a fan of character dramas. Great acting, and I learned something new about WWII from a French occupation perspective. I only wish we could binge watch the remaining episodes.

True Detective (2014)
TK 1 points 2 months ago.

Is anyone else rewatching Season 1 after starting Season 4? I feel like I need to refresh my memory in order to appreciate S4 even more. Yes, I enjoyed some seasons more than others, but this show is fabulous and each season has contributed to its quality.

The Brothers Sun (2024)
TK 2 points 3 months ago.

The storyline was a little predictable, but the acting is really good. Watch it and decide for yourself.

Miss Sloane (2016)
TK 1 points 4 months ago.

I can’t believe I missed watching this movie when it was released. Talk about thrills and chills, this film had it all. If you’re looking for something to watch, check out this flick. You won’t be disappointed.

Lessons in Chemistry (2023) S1 E1
TK 1 points 6 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Well, the episode description either “white washes” sexual violence with PUNISHED, or the series doesn’t follow the book.
I guess I’ll find out which one is correct.

Based on a True Story (2023)
TK 1 points 10 months ago.

A deliciously absurd dark comedy. It suspends you from reality into true crime and serial killers. If you enjoyed Flight Attendant and other shows that don’t require a lot of thinking from its viewers, then give this a try.

Love & Death (2023)
peachesmom 2 points 1 year ago*.

I’m pretty sure this is the same true crime story as Hulu’s “Candy”, excellently cast with Jessica Biel, Melanie Lynskey, and Pablo Schreiber. So far, I’m getting the impression that “Candy” is the better watch. We’ll see.

Update: This is just as good with a slightly different interpretation. Also with an excellent cast

TK 1 points 1 year ago.

You are right.

I think it’s a little too soon for a remake.

Love & Death (2023) S1 E1
TK 1 points 1 year ago.

I think someone forgot to check that this story has already been made into a limited TV series with Jessica Biel as Candy Montgomery. It aired in 2022, so not out long enough for a remake…hahaha.

Halloween Ends (2022)
TK 1 points 1 year ago.

What was that? I was excited for the final movie, but was anyone else really disappointed? If you’re a horror fan, you have to see it…just don’t expect too much.

The Winchesters (2022)
TK 1 points 1 year ago.

Maybe I miss Supernatural so much that anything Winchester related is gobbled up.
It’s still too soon to give it a thumbs up or down, but I’ll tune in for the next few episodes to give it a chance.

The French Dispatch (2021)
TK 6 points 2 years ago.

So delightfully charming…Hollywood redeems itself. It’s not a prequel, sequel or remake, but an original. How refreshing! Wes Anderson’s star studded cast doesn’t disappoint. Pop the corn, put up your feet and get ready to be transported out of ENNUI-sur-BLASÉ.

And Just Like That... (2021)
TK 2 points 2 years ago.

And just like that…they’re back. I’m hooked again. Even if the first episode was a little predictable, the impact of the show wasn’t diminished. I can’t wait for E3.

Colin in Black & White (2021) S1 E1
TK 1 points 2 years ago.

OMG - this is fabulous! It doesn’t just expose colonial norms, but also correlates sports to slavery. A brilliant first episode. Can’t wait to see the rest. Maybe this should be mandatory curriculum in schools.

Wolfe (2021)
TK 2 points 2 years ago.

Really enjoyed this series. Great acting and interesting characters. A little predictable, but still worth watching.

Black Widow (2021)
TK 1 points 2 years ago.

This is female empowerment at its best! Great action scenes, acting was good and the comedic banter between the family members provided a lift. If you’re an MCU fan, you can’t go wrong. I’m going to watch it again to make sure I caught all of the funny bits in the dialogue.

The One and Only Dick Gregory (2021)
TK 2 points 2 years ago.

I never heard of this man, but what an amazing life. There’s more to the story than what’s shown, but enough to appreciate his importance in history.

Fear Street (2021)
TK 2 points 2 years ago.

So far, this is really good. I wish it was like all N series that are released all at once. I admit being very spoiled by binging shows rather that tuning in every week. Oh well, I will have to try and remember when the next episode drops.

The Republic of Sarah (2021)
TK 3 points 2 years ago.

Predictable with relationships that flip on a whim. Meh! Not for me.

Sweet Tooth (2021)
TK 6 points 2 years ago.

What a lovely story…something for every age group and while there is a pandemic angle, it’s not all doom and gloom. Reminds me of the Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter movies, so best guess under 10 yrs. old may find some parts disturbing.

Launchpad (2021)
TK 1 points 2 years ago.

So good to see a big company like Disney diversifying its programming, even if it’s just 6 shorts. There’s still a long way to go showing people of different cultures, religions and race in a positive light, but at least one of the big companies sees that the benefits are more than just financial.

Cruella (2021)
TK 4 points 2 years ago.

WOW! Maybe it’s so good because so little new & good has been released this year, but I loved it! Great acting and story line felt a bit Disney dark… music was great, supporting cast amazing and well, the dogs were adorable too.
Thank you, merci, efharisto, gracias et al. uploaders.

Friends: The Reunion (TV Special 2021) (2021)
TK 4 points 2 years ago.

If your heart still breaks a little knowing that the show has ended, then you won’t be disappointed. I agree with FunnyWithFierce that 2 hours just flew by.

Hacks (2021)
TK 5 points 2 years ago.

This is smart comedy (pun intended). Wish more shows valued older women in a leading role, and JS is paired with the next gen. Great writing and acting. Can’t wait for E3.

Paradise City (2021) S1 E1
TK 0 points 3 years ago*.

BAAAAAAAD! I feel sorry for the actors. Didn’t make it past 10 minutes and am not interested in trying to again.

Fisk (2021)
TK 3 points 3 years ago.

Hilarious! Smart comedy. Pay close attention to the dialogue to get all the laughs. Looking forward to episode 2.

The Equalizer (2021) S1 E1
TK 1 points 3 years ago.

F*hck, Queen Latifah looks amazing! She’s the perfect reincarnation of an Equalizer. Not the best series premier I’ve seen, but certainly worth watching more episodes before making a final decision.

Your Garden Made Perfect (2021)
TK 5 points 3 years ago.

If you love gardening, but done’t have a clue where to start making a spectacular retreat, this show has plenty of ideas at every budget. Can’t wait for more episodes.

Painting with John (2021) S1 E1
TK 5 points 3 years ago.

This is weird! I love it! At only 20 minutes long, I wanted more.

Walker (2021) S1 E1
TK 1 points 3 years ago.

Sorry Sam (a.k.a.JP)! I wanted to like this, but it’s too predictable. Feels like a formula was provided and the writers followed it for the script. I’ll try to make it past 10 minutes in episode 2 before I make my final call.

Outlier (2020)
TK 0 points 3 years ago.

Nope, not for me! It’s not the pacing that’s unappealing, it’s the acting, editing or writing…one or all three? This is not the usual high quality, Nordic Noir like Wallander.

Nomadland (2021)
TK 1 points 3 years ago.

WOW! Another Academy award for McDormand? There are touching moments and beautiful scenery, but I needed something to make me laugh right after. I think it’s the reality of the story that made me sad. Even if people choose to live this way, are they choosing this life because there is no other option? 9/10…. but don’t watch expecting to feel uplifted.

Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
TK 4 points 3 years ago.

Glad this was released and grateful to have it available to watch, but not sure what I think about the movie. The acting was good, writing ok and story line meh. Best part was the ending that brought me back to my childhood days of watching WW TV series. Worth a watch, but don’t expect the same reaction as you might have had with the first movie.

The Flight Attendant (2020) S1 E3
UGuess 1 points 3 years ago.

This is actually very good. I can’t wait to the next episode

TK 3 points 3 years ago.

I agree…this is good. At least, it’s not a remake or predictable like most shows.

Supernatural (2005) S15 E20
TK 1 points 3 years ago.

Wow, I didn’t see that coming! I was avoiding having to deal with the end of the show by imagining a Supernatural movie 2022??? Guess that dream is dead (pun intended).

Truth Seekers (2020)
TK 3 points 3 years ago.

Not what I expected…it was even better!. If you’re a fan of Nick Frost and Simon Pegg, add this to favourites.

The Queen's Gambit (2020)
publicOnline 5 points 3 years ago.

One of the best mini-series this fall on netflix! I binged watched it in a day.

TK 3 points 3 years ago.

Binge watch in a day…check. Best mini-series…check, check. Must watch…triple check.

Supernatural (2005) S15 E16
TK 1 points 3 years ago.

doow90, I was thinking the exact same thing…only with an afterthought that maybe that’s why it’s the final season? The show’s ‘creative well’ is running dry.

Lovecraft Country (2020) S1 E10
TK 4 points 3 years ago.

Now what show can I look forward to watching? Such a great cast, and story line. I can’t wait until season 2 for another show of this caliber.

The Trial of the Chicago 7 (2020)
TK 6 points 3 years ago.

WOW! Star studded cast, with a story that could easily be in our present day.
I will definitely watch this again just to catch all of the dialogue and show my appreciation to the brilliant script writers.

Welcome to the Blumhouse (2020)
Peevee 3 points 3 years ago.

Well, there will be 4 more movies/episodes sometime next year.

TK 1 points 3 years ago.

Great news! Thanks.

Welcome to the Blumhouse (2020)
TK 2 points 3 years ago.

Two episodes in and I am torn. I want to watch the rest, but don’t want the show to end. If you’re a horror fan, Blumbouse anthology is a must watch.

Emily in Paris (2020) S1 E1
TK 2 points 3 years ago.

This is soooo bad! Not at all funny. I made it through E1 just because I wanted to see the beautiful city that I won’t be seeing again until a vaccine is ready. C’est dommage.

The Comey Rule (2020)
TK 9 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

Brendan Gleeson as Trump was so brilliant I started disliking him. It’s a very one sided perspective, but worth watching. Go Biden Go!

16 and Recovering (2020) S1 E1
TK 1 points 3 years ago.

I was drawn into the life stories, and filled with constant wonder at these teenagers’ struggles to survive. I wish we could make this a mandatory watch for pharmaceutical companies selling opioids. It’s 2020; we can’t hide behind the guise of science when our children are dying.

Partisan (2020)
bevnick 5 points 3 years ago.

Fares Fares is one of my favorite actors, loved him in the Department Q series! Can’t wait to watch Partisan.

TK 4 points 3 years ago.

Thanks for the Department Q tip. Watched 1 & 2…just waiting for subs to watch #3. i really enjoyed them.

Mozart in the Jungle (2014)
TK 1 points 3 years ago.

I loved this show. Quirky characters, intelligent writing, amazing cast and so much more. Wish there was another season or two in there.

Lovecraft Country (2020)
TK 8 points 3 years ago.

FABULOUS show! I wish it wasn’t a weekly release…gonna feel like eternity to Epi 3. Hope it’s longer than one season, cause it’s a good substitute for the end of Supernatural.

The Oprah Conversation (2020) S1 E1
