Fingernails (2023)

I don’t normally write anything but positive reviews here, mostly because there are plenty of folks who do that already and are much better at the negative review thing than I am, but sometimes you just gotta warn people about things. I feel this is one of those times.

This film is an independent, low-budget release made in Toronto. None of those things make it bad, and in fact there are many really good films with those same qualities. What makes this one different is the really oddball premise it sets for an alternate present-day where you and your partner can be tested to see if you are both in love with the other, or just one, or neither is. The test requires the use of an entire fingernail, however.

An interesting idea, but I don’t think the potential was fully explored, and the primary story arc seemed to be about one woman’s search for the meaning of love, with whomever she found it. It seemed rather convoluted and dreary, to be honest. As much as we tried, we could not make it to the end. So I’m willing to admit that maybe it saves itself in the end. If it does, I’m not sure that would have been enough.

Go in with caution.

good review. didn’t see your review before i saw the movie it would been helpful. it took three tries to finish it. ti kind of open ended ending so i cant say it improved.

i don’t know how many time the vulcan got say it. they got emotions they just learn to suppress it and once in a while they bleed out in highly emotional state. i can’t imagine any more than meeting your physco in-laws. people complaining about the vulcans on these episode is annoying me.

Silo (2023)
dicobalt 2 points 11 months ago*.

I’ve only seen the first 4 episodes since the rest aren’t out yet. This starts with great scifi concepts, but it’s quickly abandoned so it can instead become yet another boring crime drama. Why do they try so hard to ignore the most compelling element: everyone stuck in this giant silo and nobody knowing why. It’s as if they hired writers from Law & Order who had no idea how to write a compelling scifi plot, so they fell back on what they knew. Even the circumstances placed upon the characters are cookie cutter, been there done that, many times. ChatGPT could be the producer and writer for this show and nobody would notice a difference. Maybe they will turn this plot bus around to a better destination before the season is over?

tamerat1 3 points 10 months ago. (Contains Spoilers)

i get what u saying now. most shows with good premise like these get to a point and they get stuck so the go back to what they know murder mystery until they figure it out. the one thing im having issue is the show underestimate human resolve. it gives a lot of room for fear. since humanity have been able think. we have mange to walk beyond red line. our curiosity is part of our programming in our DNA. there no way you can keep 10000 people in dark for 144 years. i say you can’t keep 10 people. with out some one wanting to see. we went to the moon with a tin can. you can’t tell me u can keep us underground with out an answer. but good premise so i will keep watching.

I don’t know what going on with writing these days. I find my self hating on main character children these days. Blacklist, power, etc. its like they only know one way of making it.

One of my gripes with this ep is why did they not help the boy or do more once the nun gave a critical reveal?? That was so sloppy on their part; they’ve could’ve put a monkey’s wrench in evil’s plan.

tamerat1 2 points 2 years ago*.

that is the thing about these show we been screaming about. they never close a case or follow up. it’s all open ended. they don’t even draw they always loose. they are infective and i don’t know why it bugs me. i made few comment before too. lol. they could have killed the one demon in these ep stop the transfer but no it goes on and on. arrrr

Evil (2019) S2 E10

I like Gorge lol. I think i figured out what is bothering me about these show. it’s the lack of consequences on the characters. stuff happens and they just move on to the next mystri. like the previous on never happened. im loosing interest on these open ended stories.i hope i don’t see gorge tonight.

I love this show but it’s beginning to piss me off. They leave alot unanswered and when they do attempt to explain some of the weird occurrences, the explanations are half corked at best. All the weird and strange things that happened in this episode can’t just have that simple explanation. GEEEZZZZZ…..
I’m worried this might get cancelled before they get around to dishing out the really good stuffs.

tamerat1 1 points 2 years ago*.

I think they are trying to appeal to everyone religious, agnostic and atheist, they want u to make your own conclusion. good on concept but not sure it works for tv show. these show have so money question marks we all have about life.
