How this got a IMDB: 6.1/10 is beyond me. I give it a PU rating of 1.5

xerox 0 points 2 years ago.

6.1 wow honestly something very suspicious about some of their ratings.

I saw the original adaptation but never did read the book. The message is lost on me - unless the end of the world has a few Zombies, I’m not interested lol. I only watched the Cage one because I like Cage’s bad-but-good stuff.

xerox -1 points 2 years ago.

Yes I utterly understand this sentiment on both fronts, films like face-off are glorious. The religious propaganda under the guise of entertainment with intent to convert by fear isn’t my usual thing but it is interesting.

Knowing (2009)
DemandingFemale 1 points 2 years ago.

Nicolas Cage did another rapture movie a few years after this - Left Behind FYI, it’s not great lol

xerox 2 points 2 years ago.

NGL I have seen that, its terrible in a great sort of way, even seen the earlier film which was better and … even read the book that some ‘nutter’ was trying to sell on street as some sort of religious preaching. I sat and read entire thing while travelling. Utter religious babble but entertaining lol

Knowing (2009)
xerox 2 points 2 years ago*.

This is the most Christian movie I have ever seen. Its cool they used actual images of angels from religious texts rather than the generic made up ‘humans with wings in tunics’, but over all interesting way to depict the rapture. Not something I believe in myself but it was entertaining way to deliver this sort of message.

3/5 Just because this was fun propaganda and I liked that they used ‘real’ images of angels of various hierarchy.

Swan Song (2021)
xerox 4 points 2 years ago.

I truly miss queers like this, the world needs more Quentin Crisp’esq people & more people inspired by him. This film is charming, poignant and a stellar performance by Kier. 4/5

Mayor Grom (2016)

Fun movie. 3/5

The Woman (2011)
xerox 3 points 2 years ago.

I really enjoyed this, I am surprised there are no comments or reviews.
Good movie 4/5. Nice acting, conveyed by single look. The woman who was being ‘civilized’, taught social conventions that is itself designed without morality at its core but perception was interesting.
In every animal there is a human and in every human there is animal.

Life After Beth (2014)

Enjoyed this, felt sorry for Beth wanted something a little more fatalistically romantic from the story but I still enjoyed it. 4/5

Locke & Key (2020) S1 E2

Shame they didn’t follow comics way of showing the box as it was one of cooler images in this arc.

A great movie IMO.

I Care a Lot (2021)
YELLOWbird 2 points 2 years ago*. (Contains Spoilers)

I felt the same way. It bothered me so much, after about half an hour, I put aside to finish at another time because —the acting was excellent.

xerox 2 points 2 years ago.

It confused me a lot that the movie tried to make the ending sad lol I was so relieved and satisfied, I think the fact that the acting was so good on main characters part was largely the problem if it had need less convincing I probably wouldn’t have cared.

I Care a Lot (2021)
xerox 6 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I cannot stress enough how much I LOATHED the main character. Good movie, good characters, very happy about the ending.

Good Girls (2018) S4 E11

We would frequent the back of a ritzy steak house and leave with huge, still vacuum wrapped roasts that by law had to be tossed out and super markets were good booty bounties, too.
Anyway. I feel we’ve gone off-topic.

xerox 1 points 2 years ago.

I used to know people who would dumpster dive for food mostly non perishables like biscuit cookie chips booze and and anything else they deemed okay, they’d then hold large free parties or just give it away to friends. Amount of food waste is insane, this helps stop this.

Old (2021)
ac1d 2 points 2 years ago*.

hope it makes more sense than “sandcastle” which OLD is based off in their graphic comic -that had 0 answers as to what was happening

xerox 2 points 2 years ago.

That was kind of the point of the comic I thought.

Black Widow (2021)
xerox 3 points 2 years ago.

NGL this version of task master was… different, not what I expected or really wanted.

The Hot Zone (2019) S1 E2
xerox 1 points 2 years ago.

Horrific and casual example of serial passage in those (Vitamin C?) injections.
Highly enjoyable story so far.

Infinite (2021)
xlen 2 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

I kinda think that the de-throwner doesn’t actually kill you or stop you from living, it simply jails you without a body in a “hard disk”, so that’s why they don’t just shoot themselves…
The egg actually makes a lot of sense if you think about it, they are used to discarding the bodies as empty shells, so they don’t think about them in any other way.
Overall, I think that this is a great movie of a would be series.

xerox 1 points 2 years ago.

The egg I believe was propagated chicken embryo, it being carrier of some virus.

But the nihilists are nihilists and would surely try to shoot themselves.

If a man has no corporeal form and has no soul or mind to express does he exist? Are memories of deceased loved ones physical living beings because they are stored in the mind of their loved ones?

Remove the body, remove the mind, remove the soul there is no life.
More interestingly if it is possible to capture their soul onto a memory disk why is it not possibly to read it, to edit it, duplicate it.

If the nihilists view their existence as suffering, fearing rebirth the isolation of being trapped in a womb then using the de-throwner would remove them from the cycle.

Infinite (2021)
xerox 4 points 2 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The MASSIVE plot holes in this really annoyed me and stopped me enjoying it. (EG the nihilists want to stop reincarnation, but it is they who have the de-throwner technology. The egg location was painfully obvious, the entire egg thing made no sense. )

Its an okay movie but stopping for a fraction of moment of thought spoils it 3/10

Sweet Tooth (2021) S1 E2

Ha plutona in the background, nice.

Jupiter's Legacy (2021)
xerox 1 points 2 years ago*.

For those who enjoyed this look out for ‘super crooks’ when it is released, same writer. Ocean’s 11 with super powers. Better comic IMO. Or ‘ The pro’ which is waaay time off yet though, more adult themed ( sex worker ) with superpowers.

Sweet Tooth (2021)

descender?

xerox 1 points 2 years ago.

Comic written by the guy who also wrote this.

I’d prefer descender but either is nice to have.

An entire season that takes place mostly within first issue of the comic, wow they are drawing this out.

Two Distant Strangers (Short 2020) (2020)

I enjoyed this.

The Karate Kid (2010)
ozzium 2 points 3 years ago.

Better than the original.

xerox 0 points 3 years ago.

This is more culturally relevant giving the increasing xenophobia and racial discrimination, while earlier film seems to only offer heavy handed sterotypes and orientalism. This daring film questions an attitude, and increasing world outlook of centrist intervention and exploitation of xenophobic thinking as a way to control a populous.

In short I applaud this movie and those who celebrate it and condone any who use comfort of nostalgia to the shame the original film hides.

His House (2020)
xerox 2 points 3 years ago.

Good film

Save Yourselves! (2020)
xerox 3 points 3 years ago. (Contains Spoilers)

The ending is them being trapped, the ‘thing’ was activated by them using their phone it then removed them from the planet for the poofs to take the planet over.

Im guessing its some metaphor for sedentary creature that just consumes and does not create or actually do anything which I presume is a metaphor for us and our dependency on meaningless distractions and has no direction in life.

Over all I really enjoyed this movie and can see how the target audience could easily relate.

Top of the morning to ya Jack!

I actually thought I did!!! But I see now that not all of my drafted message didn’t paste! I was very tired when I wrote it. sound effects : “wah wah whuhhh” Fail on my part. 😮😯😦😣 So thanks for letting me know Jack! Bc without the uploaders, link sharers, content moderators, dev_team, etc… we wouldn’t have this wonderful amazing site the way it is!!! And I’ll definitely be revising my comment! But only after a cup of coffee 1st, bc otherwise who knows what I’d either forget to change or add and also have a gazillion typos!!! I’ve already fixed about 17 typos in this comment (though I’m sure I’ve missed many more!lol) And this has taken me about 40 mins to write! Wowzers! 😂

Also, thank you again for the “sections” link! (In your comment above) It is very useful! And thanks for the advice/info about the dev team updating how-to’s, tutorials & etc! ❤ I hope ya have a great rest of your morning!
