Chances of McKissick obtaining his 600th win were in serious jeopardy as his young Green Wave team lost their first game on the road, started 1-3, and then held an uncharacteristic 2-4 record after six games. Under the guidance of its long-time leader and his stellar assistant coaches, the outlook brightened with three consecutive wins for 599. Finally, McKissick won his 600th game over cross-town rival Ashley Ridge before 10,000 rabid fans. And, when Summerville stuns undefeated Bluffton to claim the Region 8 crown, McKissickâs season is far from over. |
