In a dream Dan is brought by sea to a mysterious place. Though old, he has to carry a heavy cello. He must begin his journey. Beatrice waits for him. He hears her talk about time passing and she warns him not to succumb to disappointments; he echoes her words as he climbs steps towards her. He passes a man who could be him when younger then he passes others, younger each time. Is he going back to his beginning? Accompanied by Bach’s beautiful music, Dan arrives at last and can lay down his burden. |
