Chronicles the expedition of French ethnologist and filmmaker Pierre-Dominique Gaisseau and his comrades in the Toma tribe region in Upper Guinea. The director had already traveled this region and previously made various short films. He was accompanied this time by film technicians, anthropologists, specialists, and experts in magic. The expedition had intended to discover and record fetish rites of the Toma tribe, notably the initiation ceremonies and animal sacrifices which are practiced in the heart of the sacred forest. |
