Winter is approaching in 18th century Rye, New York as a small family recovers from the death of their father. As supplies grow low and income scarce, they are come across by a young man who lends them a hand. The daughter, Eliza, begins to fall for him, suspecting her cousin of the same while her mother is persistent that Eliza marry advantageously. |
