A short film ‘The Raven’ which draws on the atmosphere and the emotion of the poem ‘The Raven’ by Edgar Allan Poe. It constructs an illusory narrative between unconsciousness and dream space, and refers to the the theater acting with a mask such as Japanese Kabuki and Peking Opera. Additionally, color has a purpose in this film to distinguish between dream and reality. The film represents a woman’s extraordinary distress, her depressed and dark emotions since losing her lover. This is expressed in a dream, the raven is represented as the devil who acts with a mask and mentally communicates with the woman. Eventually, the woman psychically collapses and commits suicide. |
