Details:

This is a short film exploring suppressed aggression and ambition. The outcomes of society’s moralistic expectations and repressing the competitive pressures placed on young girls. We see playful behaviour from different positions which effect the information that we are able to pick up on. The film aims to question where the real line is between playfulness and an attack, and how these ways of looking at the situation are both subjective and involve the loss of detail. Three girls are in a large garden filled with grass and flowers. Two of them stand in front of an outsized fort which they seem to be guarding. The third girl is at the other end of a green runway that connects her to the fort and gazes into the murky forest behind. They are playing a game together. Giggling and smiling at one another, the girl at the other end of the garden sets her position and skips towards the fort tentatively. When she nears the fort, the girls brutally try to stop her and we are revealed the true nature of the game. Throughout the course of the film we see the determination of the victim increase and increase and how this causes the other two characters to fight back more and more. Each time the girl reaches the fort, she is ordered to return back to her starting position by the other two, who are persistently standing at the gate of the fort. She soon realises that she must leave this warm, ornate garden in order to escape their power.
