Set in the undeveloped East End of Long Island during the 1950s, ‘Midnight In Mattituck’ explores themes of Man Vs. Government and Man Vs. Fellow Man. Peter Brennan is living alone on his farm in Mattituck when one day he discovers a surveying device in his yard. Unsure of what the device is for Peter dismisses it but trouble arises when he finds strangers working on his land. After returning to his house after a day of work, Peter finds his door is left open. In his kitchen a young businessman is waiting to make him an offer that Peter doesn’t want to hear. |
