Home is the most important place in the world. In every culture it is a space for our most intimate human needs. It is the place where we crave safety and security. Safety and security are shattered when a son or daughter is killed. A bedroom is empty. Someone is absent from every meal. Grieving parents can become isolated. This is a story of Israeli and Palestinian parents who do not line up to blame the other community for their loss. Instead, they form a circle with one another to grieve together. They act publicly to end the conflict between their communities. This group does not seek growth in numbers, but in understanding. They want no other parent to suffer the pain they have endured. |
