Situated on the banks of river Krishna, Amaravati is a small town of Andhra Pradesh, India for its pre-historic Amareshwara Temple and dedicated to Lord Shiva. Amaravati is also the site of a great Buddhist Stupa built during the pre-Mauryan times.
