What is the future for research in Europe? How do researchers work? Between budgetary restrictions and the brain drain to the United States, what lies ahead for these men and women who work, just like children, to ever go beyond the limits of “why”? In search of an answer to these questions, Claude Mourieras visits Unit U466 of the National Institute of Health and Medical Research. Impassioned and enthusiastic, the researchers he meets take him along on their scientific and geographic wanderings. And the research labs suddenly appear as they really are: whirling dervishes spilling out ideas where brains confront each other head on and individualities pile up. |
