Details:

Wm. Thorne is a gardener, but there is no flower in his care that can compare with the beauty of his daughter Dora. This of course does not pass unnoticed, and as Dora chances to meet Roland, son of the Earl Westley, in the garden, it is a case of love at first sight. They meet frequently thereafter, thus causing the jealousy of Holt, another admirer of Dora, who hastens to inform her father of the meetings. Fearing that nothing good could come of this and also having arranged another marriage for Dora, her father notifies Lord Westley of his son’s attention to Dora. In spite of his father, Roland continues his attentions to the girl of his choice and while walking with her is wounded by Holt, his rival. Roland and Dora are separated and, thinking she is lost to him, he is about to be engaged to another, when he again meets Dora, who tries to escape, believing that he had cast her aside for another woman. Roland’s encounter with Holt, Dora jumps into the river, Roland to the rescue and at last reconciliation follows. Roland finally succeeds in winning for his wife Dora Thorne, the gardener’s daughter.
