Jack and Tom are the two sons of a retired merchant. Through slander, Tom induces the old man to disown Jack. Soon Tom has convinced his father to turn over his entire wealth and property. The father now has nothing and lives with Tom; and when Tom is married poor old dad is always in the way. Dad is about to be sent to the “Poor House”, when son Jack learns of the situation and arrives in time to save his father, whom he finds praying at his wife’s grave. Jack has prospered and he is now the owner of a saw mill. He takes the old man into his home, where he is cared for and loved during his remaining years. |
